AIBU to consider voting Green instead of Labour in local elections?

I’m strongly thinking of ditching Labour & voting for the Green party in the forthcoming local elections because Labour has been such a dismal failure. Do you think this is a good idea or am I being unreasonable?

You could not be more wrong.

The bond markets are closely watching anything which would signal Starmer’s removal, and his replacement by Burnham and/or Reeves.

Very true. But not remotely what you said.

Zack Polanski lied about being a Red Cross spokesman.

Zack Polanski offered to make women’s breasts larger through hypnosis.

Zack Polanski attacks the police over apprehending a knife wielding killer.

Going well, then.

Given they had 2 candidates arrested for inciting racism and then their own leader was posting antisemetic BS on socials last week they would be one of the last parties i would vote for

This.

Antisemitism is rife in the Green Party. I'd assume only people who support hatred would vote for them.

YANBU. We can’t vote in Bristol this May. But if we could I’d vote Green.

Also don’t be too disheartened by responses on this forum. Mumsnet has a heavy right wing bias and a large number of one issue voters who are obsessed with gender politics.

Antisemitism isn't a great look for the Green either.

The greens are even worse than Labour in throwing other people's money around.

Are they? I didn’t think they’d ever been in a position to throw any money around.

Our local Green Party have been steadfast and amazing for many, many years. They now hold majority seats in our council and the full cabinet and our town is thriving under them.

I will definitely be switching to them from Labour for this weeks local vote - they do seem to be really proving their worth here and have lots of very positive messages and doing so much community stuff.

Reform are trying really hard here too but they are so negative and just bring arguments and a black cloud whenever they are mentioned.

Which town is this? I have family in Bristol who regard the Green council as a shit show when it comes to practical delivery of core services (as opposed to trumpeting on non local issues). In my area the Green candidates simply don’t talk about local issues - in the Labour leaning lower income part of the borough they go in hard on Palestine (largish Moslem communities) and in the more middle class and Tory leaning parts they go in on identity politics and magical thinking. Try asking them how they are going to manage core services and the closest they get is lecturing me on bicycle lanes whilst apparently not knowing where they already exist in their own wards. They seemed very confused about what they actually represent locally.

What policies have they actually delivered better at a local level in your town?

Is your local candidate one of the antisemitic ones?

Do you just randomly accuse innocent people of hate crimes?

No, I've never done that.
