…and do you lie about it? I’m late 30s, 4 or 5 relationships, most 1-2 years, been married now for 6 years. I’ve slept with around 50 people (I know cos I made a list once!) Only 1 or 2 were ‘true’ one night stands. I know that’s a lot but I refuse to be ashamed of it, I had a lot of fun in my youth. When I was dating before my husband I never admitted it to anyone I was dating. I’d always say less than 10. So how many people have you slept with and do you freely admit it or do you reduce the number a lot if asked by people you’re dating or were dating before if you’re in a relationship? And how do you feel about the number?

I actually don't know. Maybe 20-25? My Dh and I have never talked about it, it's the past so why would we.

I personally wouldn't ask my partner or disclose the number as it's totally irrelevant. You're not better than anyone else if you've slept with less people. Safe consensual sex is absolutely fine and not shameful regardless of the number of partners 🫣

i grew up in a time when everyone drank and smoked and had sex with each other in their teens and early twenties. (Well, not everyone but you know what I mean).

the concept of body count had not been invented, and the general response to women having sex was “you go girl”.

the world has changed significantly and frankly while smoking and drinking too much are clearly bad for you people caring about how many times anyone has had sex or who with seems like a step back to the 1950s.

About 15 including girls which is not very many at all in my book as I met DH in my late 20s. I could have doubled that easily if the cards had fallen differently. DH has never asked and doesn't seem bothered, I think he can probably guess that it's a pretty average amount. His will be more than mine because he's a lot older but I suspect not as much more as you might think. However, I couldn't give a toss, genuinely. The funny stories come up in conversation as and when. I think unless the answer is 0 or over 1000 I can't see why it's a talking point.

I wouldn't like to be with a man who had a really high total, because I'd feel that he was all about variety and that me alone could never be enough for him. I'd also wonder if he had commitment issues and would be worried that he treated women like objects, since no one has the time to have formed an emotional bond with that many people. (An emotional bond doesn't have to mean a serious relationship, it can mean just knowing someone on a deeper level than wham bam thank you ma'am. Know them enough to see them as an actual person.) I'd worry that he just wanted to stick his dick into any hole and that he was able to separate that from the person too easily. I think I'm saying that using bodies in that way just seems like he might be cold. Basically, I'd be wary of a rabidly high count basically because it might indicate some dodgy psychology. And it's just really unromantic to have gone around banging like a loose door in the wind.

Somewhere between 70-80, with the majority being between the ages of 16-21. I was reckless and enjoyed myself far too much with drink & occasional party drugs. It was a wild time. At the time I didn’t realise how bad it was and dangerous, if I really went back there’s probably a lot of really sketchy ones! It’s definitely not something I’m proud of but I wouldn’t lie about it, it’s taught me lessons!

And before coulditbeyou can ask, yes my husband knows! His number was one when we met & he’s honestly better than any of the other ones put together, so who cares, everyone’s got a past ☺️

The more sexual partners, the increased risk of hpv. If someone is going to live a promiscuous lifestyle then they need to stand on business and be accountable for anything they catch whether that be herpes, hiv or hpv. Other than that I couldn’t care less who’s slept with who but I don’t understand people who sleep around or who have a high body count then cry when they catch something.
