How many people have you slept with?

…and do you lie about it? I’m late 30s, 4 or 5 relationships, most 1-2 years, been married now for 6 years. I’ve slept with around 50 people (I know cos I made a list once!) Only 1 or 2 were ‘true’ one night stands. I know that’s a lot but I refuse to be ashamed of it, I had a lot of fun in my youth. When I was dating before my husband I never admitted it to anyone I was dating. I’d always say less than 10. So how many people have you slept with and do you freely admit it or do you reduce the number a lot if asked by people you’re dating or were dating before if you’re in a relationship? And how do you feel about the number?

I was briefly trafficked as a teenager and had poor boundaries prior to that due to childhood abuse, so I don't know, honestly. My husband of nearly twenty years has never cared about the number. That's not what matters to him (and I have no idea how many women he's slept with prior to me either).

If he died and I decided to date again, I don't think I'd want to date a man who was interested in how many people I'd had sex with. The generalities of whether you've had long-term serious relationships or only short-term ones, etc can be useful to know, but not a sex partner number.

2nd was the next boyfriend, once we had (awful) sex the first time I never heard from him. I actually think he was gay.

3rd my husband, met at 18, he was 19. I’m his first.

I regret number 2. Especially since it was so crap.

God, not 100% sure. I know it's more than 10, but fewer than 20. I'm 51, and had 4 long term relationships (from 4-12 years in length.) Only 1 true ONS. I always preferred relationships. I've not had sex in almost 3 years, which was largely on health grounds. I'm single, and wonder if I'll ever decide to try and meet someone again!

I used to know, now I have no idea. Only one or two more than it was at that time but I can't remember the exact number and I can't think of anything worse than trying to tally it up. I wouldn't lie about it but I don't tolerate anyone quizzing me on it. Talking about previous experiences is one thing, trying to put a number on it does nothing but provide a basis for negative judgement. It's a disgusting thing to ask someone.

I used to write a list every now and again when I was in my peak shagging phase. It was amusing and reminiscent.

3, all long-term relationships. I am a serial monogamist!I did lie by omission to the second about sleeping with the first - what can I say, I was young and silly! Given the second was a man I was with for 25 years and it was deeply unsatisfying at many levels, including sexually, I do regret not having played the field more in my 20s and 30s! I am now happily in a relationship.

I think I even put it into sections, I’m organised like that.

Quite a few, I haven’t kept count, only one for the last 15 years.

Wish it was more though. Wish I’d had more confidence in my youth and hadn’t worried what people would think! So much fun to be had. So little time!

11 including my ExH and no new ones since we married in my late 20s. I am 53. We have been split 8 years and I haven't had sex since. I connect with a few of mine on Facebook and occasionally in person and would happily have a pint and a catch up with around half of them. The other half not so much!

I am not sure I would be willing to have that conversation if I do meet someone now. What does it matter. Often how many just comes down to how quickly you met people who you then went on to have a long term relationship with. Had I not met my husband who knows how many frogs I might have kissed before finding (who I though was my) Mr Right!

I have a very very type A friend who when we were at uni had a spreadsheet. Didn’t believe her at first and then she pulled the thing up. I did ask her if she filled it in straight after sex but thankfully she waited till they left.

TBH I don't know. I used to keep a list but stopped counting after about 15 / 20 ish but I reckon about 40. I have no regrets. I had a great time when I was younger. I don't think any ex boyfriends have ever asked how many people I've slept with but I wouldn't lie. If they had an issue with my past then they can do one.

Im 60 now and single. Wouldn't lie if asked . Had 3.5 😆...the .5 was a failed attempt at a one night stand after a break up...I had drunk too much and was braver at the beginning than when it came to do the deed. Thank god the guy was really lovely about it ! He even paid for my taxi home !! 😂

Sometimes i regret not having more "fun" but ive realised i had to really trust someone before i slept with them.

The other person was when me and my hudband ( then bf) was on a break and it was to make him jealous ( dont judge i was only 18) and i regret it because it was beyond shite and honestly weird.
