Mine would be Ben Fogle. I love his series BF New lives in the wild. He comes across as such a caring, compassionate and down to earth person. He’s a great listener and loves to hear real people’s life stories. He also looks like he gives great hugs!

I reckon Florence Pugh would be a fab friend, I'm a bit older than her but feel I would learn a lot from her.

I also think Robert Pattinson would be hilarious in the pub.

It’s so strange reading threads like this because I am actually good friends with a couple of people mentioned.

I’d really like to be friends with the Beckhams - just to get an insight but I genuinely believe that Vic and Dave are decent people!

Nomura · 25/04/2026 23:04

Trevor Noah or Keke Palmer.

This thread is like an Alan Partridge phone-in on Mid-Morning Matters.

Dilly Carter from Sort Your Life Out.
She’s so gorgeous. After everything she’s been through with her health and her mum, she’s such a trooper. I like her enormously.

Yep. JKR 💯🫶

Ha I think we may have to form a bit of a circle of friends if that’s ok as she is my pick too !

Changeitbacktomorrow · 25/04/2026 23:33

Sara Cox, I realise she’s an acquired taste but I think she’s hilarious. We have the same sense of humour and both love horses and dogs, so I think we’d get on like a house on fire. Also, we were pregnant with our eldest daughters at the same time, back in the early 00s, and I was relatively young at the time with no friends in a similar situation, so hearing her talk about her pregnancy on the R1 breakfast show on my drives to work was a bit like having a pregnancy buddy.

EamonnFyre · 25/04/2026 23:36

George Michael. I think he’d have been fun, interesting and thoughtful, challenging and kind.

Another vote for Dilly from sort your life out. I really love her.

also, an author called Olivia Laing, although she is much much much more clever than me! I would have to pull my intellectual socks up but she would be great in a very different way
