Mine would be Ben Fogle. I love his series BF New lives in the wild. He comes across as such a caring, compassionate and down to earth person. He’s a great listener and loves to hear real people’s life stories. He also looks like he gives great hugs!

Can we include youtubers?

I like Max Miller who has a channel called Tasting History. He's smart, funny, interesting and if he were not my friend I'd like him to be my son.

Agree Ben Fogle as well. Although I'd probably have a teeny crush also.

Stephen Fry

Hah, beat me to it. He is everything I would like in a friend - he’s clever, funny, charming, eloquent and interesting. He also has beautiful manners. He can laugh at himself. And he’s kind. Perfect.

Sara Pascoe seems nice. And I bet Joanna Lumley is a gorgeous human being. If I could have anyone from history, I’d choose Patrick Leigh Fermor, P. G. Wodehouse or Iris Murdoch.

paint101 · 25/04/2026 20:38

Nicholas Cage. I’ve always thought we’d be really good friends. Not quite sure what I’m bringing to the table, but I think I’d win him over.

24caratgoldlabubu · 25/04/2026 20:40

Grace Campbell.

DripDripAprilshower · 25/04/2026 20:40

It’s interesting that until the 3rd page when the JKR set showed up almost none of the celebrities mentioned were Gender Critical.

Not sure what the says about MN. I’ll ponder it for now 🤔

Richard Armitage.

Interesting suggestion.
My husband was watching a series some time ago, about a big affair and tragedy, involving him as a condemned father of a family.
Since I saw Mr. Armitage's bottom in that series,
I cannot quite look at him in the same way! 😂
