As a proud Northerner i can say 80 per cent of my peer group will vote for Reform in May. Do you think it will be a North v South split?

Sadly I think you’re right @TemperanceWest, although I rate her. However those criticising her as “odd” on this thread can do one as far as im
concerned - she has proved herself as party leader so their slights have little to do with her competence.

Starmer is of course arrogant, dismissive and bullying in PMQs which many can see, hence dropping votes each week.

He hasn’t got many loyal supporters left.

I think that's a problem with PMQs in recent years. It's gone from a chance to hold the prime minister accountable to a circus show/school playground with everyone shouting and trying to get one over on other people using stupid jokes and one-liners. It's really unwatchable.

When I started teaching in 1994 I had a class of 36 with no TA....

Yes, back when I was at school TAs weren't a thing... but there weren't children throwing chairs across the classroom & trying to strangle other pupils like there are in my DC class

Notonthestairs · 24/04/2026 17:19

I don’t think Badenoch is odd. Although I can’t imagine suggesting sandwiches are not real food.

But I do think her attitude towards autism and specifically autism in children seems uneducated. She lent her support to a report which went out of its way to stigmatise autism and which suggested that autistic children have unfair advantages - that’s news to any parent of an autistic child.

Children under her care would not be given reasonable adjustments- they’d just work on themselves instead.
For an ex Minister for Equalities to warp the Equality Act in such a way indicates either she did not understand the legislation or didn’t support it.

Someone has to be PM. I don’t get this certainty over KB.

Who are you more certain will be?

I don't think she'll still be leader by 2029, unless there is a big upsurge in support for the Tories.

Who will be the PM in 2029? Who knows but on current polling it will be bloody Farage. Not Badenoch.

Maybe to your last line, although her ratings exceed her party’s so they’d be daft to think it’s her issue rather than a party issue.

People like her (not on mn she gets all sorts of stuff, probably due to Labour slant) but focus groups show she is seen positively.

But if that liking doesn't translate into improving the vote share, she'll he gone. The Tories are predicted to lose over a thousand seats on May 7. That is double what they lost in 2022 under Johnson.

Liz Truss was a very temporary filler in an unfixable crack.

KB is a joke. An extension of the lost Tory party.

Odd you cannot engage your brain and see how effing under qualified and woefully stupid she actually is.

She cannot even get herself straight at PMQs. Rather she relies on student union leader style comebacks.

I cannot for the life of me, imagine her as a PM.

Michael Gove has a lot to answer for.

Starmer is judged to have done very well internationally, far better than domestically. It’s a shame he’s not foreign secretary, it would suit his skills far better. I dread to think what the world would think of us with Badenoch sneering contemptuously at every other leader.

She’s vile.

By this metric Starmer will go?

I think they’ll keep Kemi but let’s see. Labour losing their leader will be hard for them. Everyone opposing should sit back and let that unfold.

SpringAndSunshineIsHere · 24/04/2026 17:38

BlakeCarrington · 24/04/2026 17:02

Well she could hardly do worse than Starmer eh @Blossomtoes. That’s impossible.

Oh she really could.

Kemi trounces KS at every single PMQs. WTF is your problem with her? Delete as appropriate:

  • she is a woman
  • she is black
  • both of the above

BIossomtoes · 24/04/2026 16:54

I don’t think she’s odd. I think she’s rude, abrasive and disrespectful, as well as having a completely closed mind. Added to which she’d have taken us to war two months ago.

💯

I think I’ve set out what my problem with Badenoch is. Autistic kids and their unfair advantages.

But what Blossom said about following Trump in to war also applies.

We are talking about Badenoch, not Starmer.

You seem to be blindly supporting Badenoch. I am not sure why. The Tories are in trouble (and yes I know Labour is too!) and Badenoch seems unable to get them out of that trouble. Which is why I think she'll be gone by 2029.

I don’t share your certainty they’ll get rid of her. She is polling well. See what happens if / when Starmer goes.

She’s not under threat as a leader, unlike KS. Sit it out I reckon.

Notonthestairs · 24/04/2026 18:00

Badenoch isn't under threat for now - but that's largely because Jenrick left his speech on the photocopier.

Catterbat · 24/04/2026 18:04

rememberingthem · 24/04/2026 01:23

And here we have the exact issue…the superior attitude and treating anyone who wants to vote for reform as imbeciles who don’t understand what they are voting for. This is EXACTLY what happened with Brexit and look where that got the country!!!

I used to argue this too. But fuck kowtowing to bigots and people with half a brain cell. Why should they be heard when they’re incapable of listening?

My eyes would be betray me if I were to attempt an eyeroll.

You are wishing this joker 'trounces'. I must be in another universe where Kemi commands anything other than shame and embarrassment.

You can usually be bothered on lots of posts. Often when it comes to ethnic issues.

Why are you evading now?
