What does either a specific person in your life, or just the general public do, you just don't understand why they do it, and you either can't ask them or you've tried to ask them and they can't tell you?

Write it here and maybe someone else that also does it can tell you why, or has an idea as to why.

Here are mine:

Why do my neighbours across the street bring their bins outside a full 24hrs early? They are retired, home most of the day, go in and out of their house five or six times during that 24hr period, but bring their bins out early Monday morning when they don't get picked up until Tuesday morning?

Why do people talk on their phones on speakerphone in public, what is the purpose?

Oh and those noisy off road motorbikes that shouldn’t be ridden around residential areas. Picking up dog💩 but then leaving it or even worse hanging it in trees. Disgusting shouldn’t have a dog if you can’t dispose of their 💩 appropriately.

Why do motorists drive forward onto their driveways and then have to reverse into the road??? I’ve witnessed so many near misses on our road alone, I asked one neighbour why he did it…….he said “that’s the correct way to do it”! NO IT ISN’T!!!

I have a short driveway; if I reversed in I wouldn't have enough space to open my car boot.

I am someone like this 🤣 my dh has a bladder the size of a pea and is constantly going to the toilet. I usually don't go until I'm bursting especially on public transport etc
Could easily hold it for a few hours

I’m jealous 🤣
I’m not the worst but I had to go 2 or 3 times per flight. But it was a good excuse to stretch my legs too, so it’s not all bad.

Why do people not lock their doors?

Because I think it won’t happen to me

That sounds sensible, but it I hate people parking next to us in a nearly empty carpark at night. I find it quite creepy knowing they've deliberately parked as close to me as possible.

Why do people use self service tills and not put everything straight in the bag? Everything goes on the shelf then they bring out the bags at the end and slowly pack

I do this!
I don't pack slowly though.

I do it because the till always seems to get confused about weight if I use my own bags. Takes longer having to keep calling somone over etc.

Yes exactly! It always hates the bag.

Yes same! I also like the leg stretching excuse. Obviously I sit by the aisle and don’t keep making others get up.

It's habit I think. People just leave the house and get into their cars on autopilot.

Habit ? No its called fat arse syndrome

Why does my mum constantly call until i answer my phone just so that she can ask me a simple question? Surely she could leave a voicemail or send a quick text when it is not urgent. Why do people ask me if they can visit me in 2 hours and then send stroppy messages when i tell them that i will be out?

People who sit at a bigger table than they need. DD regularly goes to a local cafe with her carers. She has to have 2 carers sometimes there will be 3 if there’s someone shadowing. This particular day they arrived but there was only tables for 2 people. So staff asked a woman sat alone at a table for 4 if they could have her table. She protested said oh I wanted to sit in the window. She did move eventually.

Or when 1 person sits at a table on a train when there’s only 1 sitting there. I couldn’t leave 1 of my dc sitting separately from me both severely autistic. I had to squeeze the 3 of us onto 2 seats. Also on public transport when parents don’t sit their small child on their knee so someone can sit down.

This could be solved by the owners of cafes and rail franchises not making the seating for two really shitty in comparison to the seating for four. Of course people want to sit by the window in a cafe, or to have a proper table in the train rather than a crappy pull down tray, just because you might be alone, it doesn't mean you don't want a nice view and a decent table.

I'd move if someone came along in your position who needed the seating for four, and asked me politely, but I'm not going to squirrel myself away in a crappy seat for two if there's a nice seat for four available and no one obviously needing it at the moment I choose my seat..

Plus, of course, you don't know that the table you want wasn't the only free table when the solo occupier entered the cafe, or the only available seat on the train when they boarded it. You can't expect people to keep moving about from larger to smaller tables when they come free on a 'just in case basis'.

I think you're being a little unreasonable and short-sighted.

My MIL buys Christmas presents/ Easter eggs and has to bring them over as soon as they’re wrapped/ organised. Even if it’s 2 weeks before the day, and they always come over on Christmas morning anyway! So we have to try and hide a huge bag of presents for weeks 🤦‍♀️😆

Why do people at night walk in the middle of the road, when there are 2 perfectly good pavements- do they think footpads are going to jump out from behind the bins and rob them?

Dog poo...If I walk my dog on the canal there is no bin on the walk. If Dave does a poo I don't want to hold onto it for an hour so I put it somewhere that I might see it on my return to the car. I always put it somewhere I can see it on my return and dispose of it at home. Obviously, some people don't pick it back up but I do.

Why should other people have to walk past a plastic bag of shit just because you can't be bothered carrying it? It's so gross!

Exactly, and dog owners can carry another bag to put their poo bags in.

Why at Christmas you see men peering and selecting Turkeys in supermarkets. When you never really see them buying chickens regularly in the same way ?
Why does that happen.

Why does that happen.

Presumably because turkeys vary greatly in size. Or do you mean that men never do regular shopping?

Single people do sit in seats for 4 even though there is no obvious disparity in the desirability of the table and the place is crowded. @Mumandcarer80 's concerns are real.

Agree with you. I’m sick of always getting the crappy single seat by the toilet (usually).

Thats not to say I would not give up a table or move if I needed to, but single people have just as much right as other people do to take up space in the world.

When he had a really cold snap, my neighbour filled a sandwich bag up with water and left it on her front lawn. It froze, melted and stayed there for weeks. I have no idea what the purpose was!

This is the sort of thing I started the thread for. Bizarre behaviour 🤣
