Tuna and red onion mixed with kewpie mayo and a bit of sriracha sauce piled on top of a sweet potato… delishhhh!!!

Mydahliasareshit · 22/04/2026 22:26

I like to do a double batch of tuna or egg mayo, have your meal portions then leftovers in the fridge to have on top of a crumpet / toast/ split croissant for super quick breakfast protein.

Yum! I used to loved cooked beetroot(not pickled) with mayo sandwiches .
Beetroot amd feta salad.
Watermelon and feta
Feta and feta

I don’t like pickled beetroot either, it has got yo be cooked. I can eat one like an apple.

NamelessNancy · 22/04/2026 22:43

If we're talking tinned fish it's sardines in tomato sauce on toast for the win. Every time. Love a bit of tuna mayo too though OP so YANBU.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/04/2026 22:44

tuna mayo and salad cream is better

Twatterati · 22/04/2026 23:04

Yesssss! And tuna mayo mixed with coleslaw (a decent one or homemade)

Today I had Tricolore Salad which I’d not had for maybe 20 years! It was bloody lovely - sliced avocado, sliced tomatoes and sliced mozzarella drizzled with balsamic glaze.

Thanks to this thread I’m going to have it again tomorrow with tuna mayo AND egg mayo and use chunks of cucumber as cutlery - yuuummm. Thanks all!

I love tuna mayo but can’t justify the calories at the moment. I’ve been pretending tuna, yogurt and a tiny splat of mayo is as good. It isnt
One of my favourite sandwiches is Tuna, mayonnaise, black olives, feta and red onion.
I also love shredded chicken, mayonnaise and American mustard.

Try tuna and cottage cheese - it’s honestly lovely, even if it sounds odd. It’s one of Weight Watchers early combos, from about the mid 80s I think!! If you don’t like the cottage cheese lumps you can blitz it smooth with a blender.

Returning to join in with the tuna love...

I mix it with mayo, finely chopped peppers and spring onions and grated cheese and add Cajun seasoning. Squishes it between a couple of tortillas and dry fry it to make a quesadilla. Even better with a big dollop of home made Guacamole!

I like it too, tuna mayo with a bit of salt and spring onion, I use chunky cucumber slices to scoop it up and shovel it into my mouth from the bowl!

Oh my goodness I’ve been looking for the perfect vessel for my tuna mayo (don’t like celery and DH’s suggestion of breadsticks is barbaric!) - this has made my day, thank you

Yes!
Egg mayo with a splash of paprika too.

Ooh never thought of paprika with egg mayonnaise!

A dad at junior school years ago said to add a dash of salad cream to egg mayonnaise and it’s a game changer!

Together? Those are two of my favourite foods, but I’ve never thought of combining them 🤯

Yes! It’s amazing. Also good with strawberries, apples and peaches, but raspberries are the best.

They look so tempting... but it's always a mistake out of season!

They were on offer i was tricked into buying them 😀

With a little lemon juice, too. 😋

Mischance · 23/04/2026 10:39

When my family was young I used to make an easy supper: bought pastry cases ( I know very lazy!), fill with tuna mayo and garlic, top with grated cheese and bung in oven. Quick, easy and blooming brilliant!

British strawberries
m&s applause grapes (giant and crispy)

Cotton candy grapes...

Turnitoffnonagain · 23/04/2026 11:00

I like a tuna mayo (with a little chopped red onion) on Granary bread. And chips. 😯

This was my order at fave cafe near the sea.
Awesome combo. Fresh sea air, tuna mayo sandwich, vinegary chips. 😋

Notatallanamechange · 23/04/2026 11:05

Smallest dollop of Branston’s Pickle just elevates it to the extreme.

Vates · 23/04/2026 11:07

I much prefer tuna with salad cream. I have a love/hate relationship with mayo.

scrimblescramble · 23/04/2026 11:10

Couldn't think of anything worse eughh

EveryDayisFriday · 23/04/2026 11:13

With grated cheese and chopped red onion too, that takes it to the next level 😋. My favourite filling on a soft wholemeal granary sandwich or jacket potato, I usually have it once a week.

bungobungobungo · 23/04/2026 16:42

@CaroleSPthank you, yes I’ve tried this tuna and I would say very similar to Waitrose. I much prefer the steaks, and as you say, works out cheaper for a pack!

DungareesTrombonesDinos · 23/04/2026 16:49

Yesssss tuna with loads of vinegar, chopped red onion and sweetcorn. Im going to make it for lunch next week!

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 23/04/2026 16:51

Half mayo, half salad cream, black pepper and lemon.

ViciousChicken · 23/04/2026 16:52

How are we all on tuna salad cream?! I was brought up on this (think it’s a northern thing!) but partial to mayo as well now. I combined the two with my tuna today and it was pretty good.

Greentrilby · 23/04/2026 17:06

I buy Sainsbury’s taste the difference albacore tuna. It was recommended by The I paper and is delicious.
