To think no one can SERIOUSLY want Starmer to go now, it’s media created instability designed to damage the UK.

trump, wars, Israel invading Lebanon, US mid terms…….

it would mental for Starmer to go and it’s a trap.

yabu - of course Starmer has to go, despite what is happening in the world right now.

yanbu - time to move on and deal with trump and the blatant manipulation of the media by Russia, right wing billionaire interests.

You realise not everyone thinks these are good things, right?

What don’t you like from that list? Let me guess, VAT on school fees.

I don’t know who ultimately pulls the strings in government (someone in the blob?) but I think the Americans/Trump wanted Peter Mandelson as the US diplomat and the Brits kowtowed to accommodate this. Everyone in the UK knew of Mandelson’s unsuitability for such a role but a blind eye was turned in the hope that his appointment could be “handled”. It’s all coming home to roost now. KS won’t go until after the local elections when hopefully the electorate will express their digust with all the corruption in govt and jobs for the boys, however unsuitable..

That's not the case at all. Trump's team urged Starmer NOT to appoint Mandelson. They tried to block the move, one of them called him a "moron" who should "stay at home" and they asked for Karen Pierce to be the US ambassador instead.

They only reluctantly agreed to the appointment when Starmer refused to give the job to Pierce.

The idea that everyone agrees these things are ‘right’… they don’t.

But I don’t want him to go yet in any case, I want him to stay and sink even further, ensuring it’s one term only for them. He’s doing a great job of it so far.

partmermaidpartplant · 19/04/2026 10:06

Yeah lol school fee trauma !

I do wish he had done more about Gaza - the tories wouldn’t have either though. And the tories would have been sucking Trump’s dick and had us in the war.

yes vetting bad then.

but my overwhelming feeling is that Starmer and the Labour party are TRYING to improve the UK. something the Tories never did.

PFP contracts for the Dame Mone anyone ?

True. Stay and sink Labour or go and do the same. Fine

What is your point exactly? You say not everyone considers those to be good things, surely it’s not unreasonable to ask you which of them you object to?

TBH I think the right wing media are so desperate to get someone in who will allow their owners to keep hoovering up money while the rest of us starve that they would call for his resignation if he farted in a lift.

The Guardian broke the story. He and his supporters can’t even use that excuse.

BrinkWomanship · 19/04/2026 12:06

I want Starmer to stay. He’s the least bad Labour option for our economy. Any of the others would be worse. I’m just hanging on until the general election.

Bedroomdilemmas113 · 19/04/2026 12:12

There’s nobody less damaging to replace him with, and that’s the bigger issue. Any alternatives are edging closer and closer to communism.

You clearly have no idea what communism actually means. Both Streeting and Rayner are soft left, as is Burnham. The entire party is significantly further right than even Blair’s government.

I know exactly why communism is. Studied political history extensively at degree and post graduate level.

I am genuinely terrified of what the left are doing and will do to this country.

If the right wing media are as powerful as you think, how do you explain Labour being elected?

Badbadbunny · 19/04/2026 12:55

@FancyBiscuitsLevel

if the public didn’t want Starmer to be the PM they shouldn’t have voted Labour last election. You’ll get a chance to pick someone else next time.

The majority voted for parties other than Labour. In fact Starmer only got a slightly higher vote than Corbyn 5 years earlier when Johnson got his landslide victory. Labour got in by the back door because the Tory support crumbled, not because people wanted Labour/Starmer.

Noodles1234 · 19/04/2026 13:47

This.

I have never and probably will never vote Labour, but right now we need someone like Kier Starmer in charge. He is level headed and calm, Tony Blair would have marched us alongside Trump (his quote was “if America ask you follow”). I loved Boris but he did love a war. Once Iran has calmed down for a while then fine, get him to answer questions, just not now.

Send KC3 over there to Trump, I think quite possibly the only person on this earth that has a chance of Trump listening to amd taking in at some point.

TeenLifeMum · 19/04/2026 13:51

I’m not a Labour supporter but agree the media are trying to create a bit of drama. Keir is a steady hand with enough respect in Europe and very low drama. Getting him out will destabilise the country. I really don’t want Angela Raynor in charge or Reform!

The last Budget was the most left wing Budget in British history

Sorry, misread the question. But the same applies. I'd love to see Starmer go but who would replace him? Diane Abbot? Nightmare! Rachel Reeves? The Ginger Whinger? Lammy? 😫

Diane Abbot it starting to look like the best of them!

AprilMizzel · 19/04/2026 14:35

I do think his parties waiting to see how bad May elections are - but I don't know who else they actually have in the wings.
