It's not summer without it streaming all afternoon on the BBC 🥺

I’m not! So relieved. Otherwise my 16 yr old would have wanted to go

Hehe. Its not the end of the world . Just listen to spotify??

hazelberry · 12/04/2026 14:27

I'll miss it. I enjoy watching it and reliving my youth while sitting on a comfy sofa.

Classiclines · 12/04/2026 14:27

I didn't realise there was no Glastonbury this year OP.
You have really cheered me up. The BBC usual obsession with it is just so boring.

@mumofoneAloneandwell I love watching it with a few (quite a few lol) drinks. Will miss it this year.

PandoraSocks · 12/04/2026 14:36

I will miss it. Self Esteem and Pulp were the highlights for me last year.

Meandyouandyouandme · 12/04/2026 14:43

I will miss it too! Self Esteem was my favourite act, everyone danced and sang! And Pulp was amazing and I saw the Red Arrows go over as well. Was a fabulous week!

GellerYeller · 12/04/2026 14:50

I will miss the build up and hints at the surprise acts performing. I usually watch as much of it as possible.
One year my friend was there and I spotted her front of stage on live TV 😂

wen4567 · 12/04/2026 15:04

I was there last year and will miss it this year. It was my 12th one (2nd time taking my children) We’re already planning how to get tickets for next year lol

100%!

RhaenysRocks · 12/04/2026 15:18

Its a frequent thing that they have a fallow year to allow the fields to recover properly.

Firesidechatter · 12/04/2026 15:22

It’s every five years I think it isn’t on, to let the land recover and the cows to graze it undisturbed.

Imlyingandthatsthetruth · 12/04/2026 15:34

The BBC don't publicise it much but they are major stakeholders in Glastonbury. Ever wondered why it's barely mentioned or covered by anyone else? Hence the tedious wall to wall coverage.

Some of us cant attend Glastonbury irl 🙃

The coverage is only on radio 6, radio 1 and the iplayer though

Long live the bbc for me, well worth the licence fee

😄 love that you saw your friend - last year there was a girl who stuck with me - the camera caught her having the time of her life!

Love Glasto on the telly, do not love the congestion and diversions for miles around Worthy Farm.

Spaghettea · 12/04/2026 16:38

Ah, I love watching it on the telly. It's football this summer though, I'll watch what fits in with our time zone.

Next year I think it'll be Harry / Fontaines / someone else headlining Glastonbury.

Gettingbysomehow · 12/04/2026 16:40

Thank God. I live near the site and it causes so much noise and disruption.

MaturingCheeseball · 12/04/2026 16:48

Extremely pleased. BBC spending £££££ sending vast amounts of personnel there, cringe presenters bleating that all the acts are great and MOST OF ALL avoiding the inevitable stage appearance of Zack Polanski and Hannah Spencer on their ego trips.

TheChosenTwo · 12/04/2026 16:51

I’m always a bit of a grinch about it being shown on tv 😂
Just leave it for those who care to go, why stream the whole thing on tv too? I feel the same about all things I don’t enjoy though, Wimbledon, the World Cup, Grand Prix…
