I watched a bit of their series last night and felt really quite envious afterwards and am not usually like that.
They are both extremely wealthy, raised with money, young, good looking, healthy, big families, the best of everything in life.

They seem lovely, some people really do get it all though don’t they!

I know someone who slept with Jamie
Laing and he’s not that nice and apparently awful in bed. He’s nice for tv because he’s playing a persona and it’s his job to be. It’s not real life - hint: made in Chelsea was also mostly scripted

MyDogTheInternetSensation · 10/04/2026 02:59

The jealous people are all on mumsnet tonight I see, across a few threads. Does a gay person look a certain way? Because he’s dated women, married a woman and they now have a child, so there is nothing to say he’s gay, unless you’re saying he ‘looks’ gay which is based on some outdated stereotypes. 🙄

From what we can see, they seem happy, they’re doing well (which is probably the issue), good luck to them. There are so many really horrible people in the world, I don’t think there’s any valid reason that these 2 should be on anyone’s radar in a negative way really.

Anyway, I love Candy Kittens. 😻

Elishiva · 10/04/2026 03:32

I didnt realise candy kittens were affiliated with Jamie at all, got a bag for Christmas a couple of years ago, thought they were cat tests at first; nice enough, don’t eat sweets at all really so my opinion won’t make much difference.

drippingsap · 09/04/2026 23:41

He isn’t good looking but seems nice. She’s overdoing the fillers & botox which isn’t my idea of good looking.

Agreed

LindorDoubleChoc · 10/04/2026 03:43

I see snippets from his podcast when I'm doom scrolling through Instagram and he strikes me as affable, quick and witty and kinda charming. Like a pp, I'm amazed he has much of a relationship with his Mum after his childhood but I like the way he is brave enough to confront her about it publically.

The gay comments on this thread are extraordinary!! Wtf. And Jimmy Saville? 🙄

Eastereggschocolateisthebest · 09/04/2026 22:26

I’ve seen him up close and he’s not good looking - very plain

and yes i would say he’s gay

Edited
  1. People’s value isn’t based on how they look. We are all born individual and how we look should be the least important thing about us.

  2. You can’t assess a persons sexuality, especially not someone you’ve never ever bloody met. Unless someone tells you “I’m XYZ, never assume.”

IWasTangoed · 10/04/2026 04:35

I haven't watched the show and am very aware I am being judgemental, but anyone who uses their children to further their own fame is pretty low in my eyes. Those children can't give consent and deserve not to have their life in the limelight. I have more respect for those celebrities who protect their children's privacy and enforce media boundaries.

I'm also not sure it isn't a desperate need for validation or just greed that leads to these 'All access' tv shows.

He’s nice and funny but definitely not a grown up yet.
i would agree he seems a bit gay

What does that mean?

JMSA · 10/04/2026 05:06

They’re funny and nice, though a bit tone deaf 🤑

CurlewKate · 10/04/2026 05:17

As an older person, I am horrified by the homophobia on this thread. I really thought we’d left all that in the past. And as for the Saville/Schofield references-words fail me.

This.

I want to believe that the references to Savile (not "Saville") and Schofield are about the children's TV presenter vibe.

Mumdiva99 · 10/04/2026 05:53

I love Candy Kittens - although I don't think it's been his company for years now.
I watched him do things with Spencer years ago and quite liked him. I have seen previous TV with him and Sophie - where they bought a big house to do up.
I might tune in to see rich people living well.
(I quite liked some of the pod casts he and Spencer did where they confronted the fact Jamoe didn't invite Spencer to his wedding. I thought they were honest. I like Spencer too. Fyi....I haven't seen one episode of MIC as I'm not keen on scripted reality shows. But MiC has produced a lot of people who are now up to many other things like Pete Wicks. Another likeable chap.)

ChocolateBiscuitsandaCuppa · 10/04/2026 06:25

Didn't he cheat on her (prior to getting married)?

Nothing to be envious of, if you think someone who cheated on you is the best person to settle down with.

They don’t show their child on social media at all. So not sure where you got that from.

Shocking isn’t it. Because Jamie doesn’t 100% conform to what they view as masculine they’ve all decided he’s gay, when there is zero evidence he likes anyone but women. It’s pretty sad really to see a thread like this and realise homophobia and stereotypes are alive and kicking still.

Raintoday2323 · 10/04/2026 06:42

I quite like him on Radio one, he's very authentic.
I dont know anything about Sophie to comment.
I dont really feel anything about them being wealthy. Jamie comments alot about how awful his childhood was so I dont think its always a bed of roses.

TheCurious0range · 10/04/2026 06:50

I can't believe I'm reading this thread, have we gone back in time? I have friends who know him personally, went to school with him etc he's not gay and it's awful to base assumptions on someone's sexuality on their extroverted behaviour. So he doesn't come across as the football and pints type, so what? He was also shipped off to boarding school at 8 and has been honest about how that has affected his mental health, led to him drinking too much etc when he was younger, good for him he can be so positive now.
I don't watch the show because it's not my thing but I wouldn't be judging someone's sexuality from it, the comments here are frankly homophobic and reminiscent of 50 years ago.

Its definitely still his and he's very hands on. In another life I'd go to their annual parties and it was the highlight of my working year. Only met him a few times but the CK team really rate him, and Sophie. They hire great people and do a solid job.

Must watch the series!

Lugol · 10/04/2026 06:54

I worked for many years in the gay village in Manchester and my gaydar is strong but it doesn't ping for Jamie Laing.

I do think it's not all roses all the time though, he did cheat on her repeatedly when they were first together. I hope he has changed his ways and I'm sure he has, people do grow up after all.
The pressure to maintain it all and working together as well in the public eye must put a real strain on things at times.

I wish them every success in life, they are young, beautiful and successful. I hope they keep building on what they have with each other.

And why is he such a cock on everything he appears on?

For some reason Channel 4 chose him to comment on recent Oxford/Cambridge Boat Race. I didn't watch but he got absolutely panned on SM for announcing the wrong runner up and inane interviews.

^This.

I think people that exploit their children for their own narcissistic gain deserve all the criticism they can get.

I saw them at a service station and had no idea who they were. Must have been noticeable though, as commented to my eldest that the really blond bloke had a face like thunder. At which point she advised me who they were - I was still none the wiser!

You are now to comment on a thread about him.

tiantian1005 · 10/04/2026 07:09

Nobody's life is perfect. I do not know any rich child that's actually happy and trouble free - and its always more money more problems. Don't believe everything on social media.

ThisLuckyOpalShaker · 10/04/2026 07:13

I felt really sorry for him at the end when she wouldnt let him hold the baby, seemed super controlling i dont think it will last after watching that
