Are you concerned that Trump has totally lost his marbles?

Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP

This is a proxy war.
It is the USA v Russia and China (who support and supply Iran) for control in the Middle East for oil and the largest reserve of natural gas.

Why is it not considered treason that Trump is apparently announcing his military plans to the world??

Because the Republicans are in charge and the Democrats are an ineffective Opposition.

The American system AFAIK doesn't have an Opposition as we know it, so they have no Leader of the Opposition who could challenge a moron like Trump in a forum like Westminster. And yes, I know the President is the dear leader and is not a PM. That is the tragedy of their system I think. How do they decide on a single spokesperson to oppose Trump in any forum?

Criticism of Trump is only to be found really on SM and in statements by various Senators Governors and so on, so it is very fractured and the message gets lost. That achieves nothing anyway as they are more or less preaching to their own converted. A Republican is unlikely to view the SM of Gavin Newsom for example, and vice versa re the Dems.

I will state in advance that I am no expert on the American Constitution though!

It's a way to soften the message so you accept it like pablum. The gentle image with the harsh words is confusing to the brain that needs prioritize input, we are pulled towards the bunny that elicits feel good emotions so we focus less on the words. It's very psychological.

I think not. It’s more redolent of a horror movie. I’m wondering when the rabbit’s eyes will start glowing red, machine guns emerge from them and start shattering the bodies of the children in the crowd with bullets, then the entire bunny-head blow up, scattering bits of fluff over the bloodied corpses, while Trump intones, “suffer the little children” in his creepy voice…

It's that, too.

Technically, you're not incorrect....
party leadership is somewhat decentralized,
with leadership from the Speaker, Floor Leaders and national committee chairs who are incredibly powerful.

It’s like boiling a frog isn’t it. He was unhinged back then, just not as unhinged. But he’s gradually got worse, until he became elected again at which point he was free to just let go because at that point he was untouchable.

It's that and he was hiding a lot and his greed and craziness has grown with and from
increasing power.

But would Vance be any better?
Not batshit crazy but just as evil.

I do not believe Vance would be better. I am pinning my hopes on Rubio and some sensible Democrats. Trump is ill I feel sure.

Bunkins · 06/04/2026 18:41

If Trump wants boots on the ground, will he send his son? Will his cabinet send their children? No. He doesn't give a flying fuck, only a quick buck!

The Regime do need moving from Iran, the Iranian people are currently loving Trump not sure what the answer is.

Are the Iranian parents of the murdered school girls loving Trump? I very much doubt it.

Are the Iranian people loving the bombing of civilian infrastructure such as Universities?

Trump isn't bombing them 'back to the Stone Age' to liberate Iranian women. He wants to do Netanyahu's bidding and he wants the oil.

Trump has no redeeming features and no honourable or altruistic motives for this war. He and his hideous grifting family are making billions of dollars through insider trading.

ImportantMermaid · 06/04/2026 18:43

one thing that really only occurred to me today - how much waffle we don’t see when tv news condenses his press conferences into comparatively cogent sound bites. Sky News was on in the background this afternoon and I watched his appearance on the White House balcony with Melania and the Easter Bunny. There was SO MUCH confident stream of consciousness verbiage about the price of eggs, the rescue of the pilots, how the last Easter Event at the White House had to use plastic eggs until he stepped in, how much WE LOVE OUR FARMERS, RIGHT?!, Melania’s film, the incredible armed forces, how we celebrate ‘religion’ at Easter, etc etc etc. Mind-boggling. Like the drunkest ever father-of-the-bride speech.

Lavenderblue11 · 06/04/2026 18:44

Yes, and it's scary 😨

Mijoed · 06/04/2026 18:45

Between a delusional Trump and warmonger Netanyahu, they’ll not stop bombing Iran for long enough to have peace talks. As for regime change, they have a population of 90 million and enough supporters to make that unlikely.

Posters with similar views to yours always seem have really poor punctuation skills and don't know when to use capital letters. Maybe they don't teach English grammar at the bot farm.

Even though I am no supporter of our Monarchy, I have to say I feel a twinge of sympathy and empathy for the K+Q having to go into that cesspit and be in his company soon. The stress on KC (and Q as his wife) during his cancer journey must be awful.

Whatever else I might say about the RF, they do have decorum, manners and can play the game well. Imagine having to sit beside that moron Trump and be peppering wondering what he might come out with.

I feel that Trump will play nice towards them, but it's the not knowing whether he will or not is the worrying bit. Given everything he has done and said already with abandon, I hope the visit goes well.

Now I'll have to say three Hail Marys to cleanse my soul for having empathy with the K+Q. But there you have it.

You don’t bomb innocent civilians en masse. You arm them, help them with strategies to overthrow the regime. This is just slaughter. They cannot overturn their regime without arms. Or boots on the ground.

Well according to Mr Trump they were given arms, "... the United States supplied weapons to anti-regime protesters in Iran during the unrest"
The President said that the weapons were sent through Kurdish channels and suggested they may not have reached the protesters.
"We sent them a lot of guns. We sent them through the Kurds. And I think the Kurds kept them,"
"We sent guns to the protesters, a lot of them. And I think the Kurds took the guns," he added."

No, it's about oil and only oil. Trump is using Israel. He isn't doing anyone's bidding. Israel has a beef with Iran because Iran supplies and supports Hamas.

Who on earth has voted YABU and why?!?

Mylittlepea · 06/04/2026 18:52

How the fuck this loose-cannon excuse of a human got voted in for the second time is beyond me. The Americans that put their X on the ballot paper for him are thick as shit honestly.

People are easily led when afraid. Trump/the Republican messaging was strong. They fed the fears of the people. The Democrats were a gong-show party of too many cooks. They shot their leader with a Republican gun.

MrsOlderButWiser · 06/04/2026 19:03

I am genuinely perplexed as to why this fiasco is allowed to continue. Can't the opposition parties trigger something from the constitution to end this nightmare? It's like living through one of the horror movies except there is no superhero to rescue the world.

Rinoachicken · 06/04/2026 19:03

Loving that BBC news has just left him on mute in the corner rambling away to himself while they focus instead on the Artemis Mission

Articles of impeachment I guess

What did he want the protesters to do with the weapons, start a civil war?

cowandplough · 06/04/2026 19:12

Yes, he is off his head but too many Americans are so gun o. If it was the UK he'd be gone by now.
