This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

I'm pretty sure when I lost weight with slimming world, a serving of cheese was 30g for full fat cheese and 40g for light cheese. 450g is an insane amount for one day.

Girlintheframe · 30/03/2026 12:19

It’s a VERY high saturated fat diet! I would be really worried about your cholesterol.

I would also say it’s pretty high calorie but that would also depend on your activity levels.

Essentially it’s not very well rounded in terms of nutrients.

Hoolieghoul · 30/03/2026 12:20

450g of cheese a day is something to behold

TealQueen · 30/03/2026 12:20

To me your diet is not varied enough.
And is very high in fat and protien and very low in fruit, veg, fibre and water.

Rather than snacking on cheese and nuts every day, could you snack on a variety of fruit and raw veg like cruditees. And drink water with nuts.

Maybe see your doctor or a dietician about this too and get some qualified advice.

GenieGenealogy · 30/03/2026 12:21

It's not just the quantity, it's the type of food. 450g of cheese as a snack is insane. No carbs, no fruit. What sort of ridiculous "diet" is this??

GreenChameleon · 30/03/2026 12:23

While I was reading the OP I began to wonder if she was taking the piss. Who eats 450 g of cheese and 100g of nuts and wonders if it's too much? Of course it's too much, that's a ridiculous amount of cheese and a very monotonous diet!

1990sMum · 30/03/2026 12:24

Are you overweight?

ivyball · 30/03/2026 12:25

Sorry if this seems like a weird post but I’m trying to make sense of a few things I probably have been in denial about which is why I wanted opinions for clarity, people have said things to me before and I’ve always just thought I had a great diet.

How much would you expect someone at 42 and had this diet for years to weigh?
Would you think it would cause weight gain or weight loss or not make any difference?

How active are you though? and if you are really eating 3000+ calories a day and not very active then you would gain weight surely. Something tells me your going to say you weigh 8 stone and have never gained any weight eating like this...

Hayley1256 · 30/03/2026 12:27

With that amount of cheese I think you've been over weight as a minimum. But food can affect people differently. The fact your having a bigger meal in the morning might counter act some of the cheese as you'll probs burn some of the big meal off during the day

DonnyDoris · 30/03/2026 12:28

Regardless of any calorific / nutritional imbalance, I can't get past the fact that's nearly £50 a week just on cheese!!!

lechatnoir · 30/03/2026 12:29

Apologies if I’m repeating as I’ve not read the whole thread, but this seems a rather disordered way of eating - 1 meal a day then hugely colourific & high fat snacks and not much fruit and veg.

I think you need to go to cold turkey on the snacking and introduce a more balanced approached certainly a second meal in possibly even a third if you’re still hungry. Make sure your meals have a good portion of protein, some fat is fine but not the amount you’re consuming in cheese and spread things out a bit. For example, a 4 egg omelette plus pork chop could easily be spread over 2 meals with veg or salad on the side more so with a side of carbs too.

And whatever floats your boat on the wine, but IIMO a whole bottle of wine to yourself two days a week sounds a lot to me.

About 25stone 🤷‍♀️

a normal weight person would be gaining 3.5lbs of fat a week if they ate this bullshit diet

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 30/03/2026 12:30

Sorry @ivyball but I did think of this meme when I read your posts! 😆

That's a LOT of cheeeeeeese! 🧀🧀🧀

To ask what you think of this typical food intake?
Ramblethroughthebrambles · 30/03/2026 12:30

It's not a lot of food but a very high intake of calories, salt and fat. I only calculated the first day but that was about 3300 cals. Being only 5'2", I guess you should be under the normal 2000 cals a day for a woman, unless you are extremely active. You're almost eating that in cheese. Ready access to dense calorie fatty, salty food on the go (cheese & nuts) is the problem. I'd ration your cheese in precut lumps and sit down to eat thin slices on a filling cracker like a ryvita. That's still 400 calories of cheese a day. Try feta, it's much lower fat & salt.

Not active at all, drive to the office and back, then sit on the sofa. Sometimes in summer I get out more.

OneOfEachPlease · 30/03/2026 12:31

without knowing how active you are, I can’t comment on whether you would be overweight. But I would expect you to have high blood pressure and cholesterol.

FoolOfShips · 30/03/2026 12:31

You don't give any context - why are you asking? If you're at a steady weight you're happy with, or you need to lose/gain weight and it's working, and you have no cholesterol issues, crack on with eating this.

I would suggest, if you are trying to lose weight, you should calculate your TDEE vs total daily calorie intake and adjust this diet if needed. There would be easy reductions - two egg omelette, not four; one pork chop or two chicken portions etc.

Bjorkdidit · 30/03/2026 12:31

Even if you are a normal weight, it's not a very healthy diet. It's also quite monotonous and must be quite expensive.

Don't you ever fancy eating something else?

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 30/03/2026 12:31

Well I’m 46, I love nuts hardly eat them, likewise cheese. Do you really have no idea of nutrition?

I would imagine your blood is currently creeping through your blocked arteries like a motorway being shut down to 1 lane from 4.

Come on @ivyball You can't possibly think this cheese-heavy way of eating, with almost zero exercise is OK! Wink

Caspianberg · 30/03/2026 12:32

I would imagine overweight with that diet

I have always eaten a variety, no restrictions, no diets, I just eat the amount I feel I need each day based on hunger, activity etc.

Have you tried dividing meals up into actual meals and adding fruit/ veg/ carbs?
Ie 2 eggs for breakfast with some fruit, 2 eggs for lunch with some veggies, and then the meat for dinner with carb like rice and veggies? Surely then you won’t feel the hunger for so much cheese?

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 30/03/2026 12:32
