This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

Have you got an eating disorder? I'm being serious.

Yeah and a binge drinking problem, OP replied that they only drink a bottle of wine on a Saturday and a Sunday!!

Enigma54 · 30/03/2026 11:40

Do you drink water?
Your cheese intake seems high?
Fruit and vegetables?

No, that diet wouldn’t work for me. It’s not varied enough and way too much cheese. Are you trying to lose weight?

ToTheEndsofTheEarth · 30/03/2026 11:41

450g of cheese everyday?!! Your fridge must be completely full of cheese? What is your cheese bill?! That is completely insane?! 500g of cheddar cheese lasts a good week in this house with a family of four and we are cheese lovers (we do have a couple of other types as well, so maybe 700g).

And 4 eggs in one omelette? Is it also a cheese omelette?! AND with 2 pork chops? Was that one meal or was one breakfast and one dinner?

I read that whole list with my mouth open (in shock, not for shovelling cheese in).

It's not binge drinking to have 3 large glasses of wine two evenings a week.....

AussieManque · 30/03/2026 11:42

Sorry my first post was a bit knee jerk.

If you need a large meal to feel full at the start of the day you should be adding whole grains, like brown rice, barley, pulses like lentils, lots of vegetables to bulk it all up. And 1 chicken thigh or 1 pork chop or 1 omelette.

Instead you seem to be filling up entirely on protein but more fibre will help to fill you up more.

youandyourelk · 30/03/2026 11:42

Fuck me, stay away from the cheese and give your arteries a holiday.

2 bottles of wine over a weekend isn't a binge drinking problem FFS 🙄

Most of us can't drink during the week due to responsibilities, work, driving etc.

And the wine is the absolute least of the OPs issues tbh.

CalmTheFuckDownMargaret · 30/03/2026 11:43

OP, that’s a bit of an unhealthy diet. Too few calories from decent and varied food over the course of the week. You’re eating one meal a day and then snacking on a large chunk of the same fatty cheese every day. While nuts in moderation (not 700g a week!) are good for you, they are high fat so your snacks are adding a lot of calories but not really keeping you full in the best way. There’s virtually no fibre or whole grains anywhere. You need carbohydrate - oats, quinoa, rice, sweet potato etc with the protein.

mindutopia · 30/03/2026 11:44

I would be so constipated eating that much cheese and barely any fibre every day. 😳

Bjorkdidit · 30/03/2026 11:44

ivyball · 30/03/2026 11:22

Sorry why would this be rage bait?

You're having a laugh?

No-one gets to adulthood thinking its normal to eat 450 g (or two normal size packs) of cheese a day. Every day.

Or 100 to 200 g of nuts.

Or 500 g of beef, half a chicken or a pack of prawns.

Unless you're perhaps a high weight category body builder.

You either have an eating disorder or you're taking the piss.

Although no-one's going to tell you need more protein so that will be a first for MN.

ukgone2pot · 30/03/2026 11:44

A ridiculous amount of food and very unhealthy.

A bottle of wine two days in a row? 450g of cheese and 100g nuts!! I dare you to plug those numbers into a fitness app and see what your overall calories are. I think you will be shocked.

Ohthatsabitshit · 30/03/2026 11:45

How much exercise do you take? Do you want to change how you are eating? What’s your goal? Are you looking to lose weight, feel better day to day, lower cholesterol?

popcornandpotatoes · 30/03/2026 11:45

What an absolutely bizarre way of eating. I put the cheese into my fitness pal, the same cheese I eat which is Tesco mature cheddar, and it came out at nearly 1400 calories

mindutopia · 30/03/2026 11:44

Me too! OP doesn’t appear to drink any water either.

ProfessorBinturong · 30/03/2026 11:45

It's a seriously weird food intake. Stop picking at stuff. Have proper sit down meals. Add a lot more vegetables, and some grains and pulses. Reduce the alcohol. Stop buying cheese - if it's not in the fridge you can't keep snacking on it.

Overthebow · 30/03/2026 11:49

It’s a lot of food and calories, and quite unhealthy. You’re getting hardly any fruit or veg, and a huge amount of cheese. And two bottles of wine a week? That’s a huge amount of alcohol. Could you cut down on the cheese and wine, and add in more fruit and veg?

NoCommentingFromNowOn · 30/03/2026 11:50

I probably have a higher tolerance as we have always had a bottle each at the weekend.

Well you said in your menu that you have two bottles each per weekend, not one.

noidea69 · 30/03/2026 11:50

Christ, thats a lot of cheese.

maddiemookins16mum · 30/03/2026 11:51

I mean even though this is a ridiculous and nonsense thread, some of the replies are quite telling about the average mindset

So many replies asking 'are you trying to lose weight'

The thread is in AIBU and not weight loss chat

OP doesnt imply or indicate that she is embarking on a calorie deficit, simply asking is it too much food or too little. And she doesnt clarify whether she means by volume or by macros.

People always think that your diet is A diet, when quite simply your diet is your way of eating

Hobnobswantshernameback · 30/03/2026 11:55

Really???
really really?

AudHvamm · 30/03/2026 11:57

Ok. I understand the need for eating most meals earlier in the day, it's good for blood sugar stability and metabolic health. However, I would say your body is craving fat because it needs to feel satiated. I find I am fuller and have a more stable blood sugar when I include a decent amount of veg (esp. leafy greens) in my breakfast.

You're definitely unlikely to be getting enough fibre, despite the nuts, and your body seems to be craving salt (supports the kidneys, possibly yours are doing overtime). Is there a reason you don't eat any foods that are an easier source of energy (Eg wholegrains, pulses?) our bodies do need carbohydrates / fibre - it's the main source of energy for cellular activity.

Fat is really important and there is evidence high cholesterol is a result of estrogen build up due to chronic stress, so I would let the comments about fat wash over you for now, but you could definitely look at upping your variety of fats and protein (olive oil, avocados, oily fish, full fat yogurt).

You might find intense cravings fall away as your body gets more of what it really needs.

It's a fair question, OP doesn't state her reasoning why she wants our opinions on her food intake.
