This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

@likelysuspect

So many replies asking 'are you trying to lose weight'

The thread is in AIBU and not weight loss chat

I think that's just because people are trying to understand why she eats such a bizarre diet.

One might ask, at risk of deletion, whether she DOES actually eat such a bizarre diet....

Also, loads of people post in AIBU instead of the relevant topics to gain more views and comments.

Overwhelmedandtired · 30/03/2026 11:59

No I don't think it is enough food volume wise, it is too much high fat, calorie dense food that won't fill you up for long enough. No where near enough fibre.

The snacks need to be replaced with more balanced meals. Or at least more fruit and/or veg options. Cheese and nuts have some great nutrients, but focussing just on high volumes of these misses a large number of other nutrients needed for health. Protein levels don't seem too bad, although just one meal will probably mean you aren't getting enough.

Could you maybe have your egg based breakfasts, possibly slightly reduce portion size, the tuna or chicken with salad for lunch with a little cheese or nuts? See if it helps you feel better

Caspianberg · 30/03/2026 12:01

It seems a lot of once and pretty unbalanced to
me. Not much variety and lots of eggs and cheese and nuts?

As a comparison for you. I’m a bit taller that you, and have been same weight whole
adulthood bar pregnancy. Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast: two boiled eggs, rye bread. Butter. Orange juice. Tea

Lunch: leftover couscous salad ( had roast veg in also). With houmous, and feta,
Tomatoes.

snack: some vanilla yogurt with cashews.

Dinner: homemade chicken korma curry. Rice. Roti.

That’s a fairly typical day. Breakfast is sometimes eggs, sometimes granola and fruit, sometimes pancakes if weekend. Lunch leftover dinner, soups, filling salads, toasties. Sometimes I snack, sometimes don’t. Dinner is generally cooked main meal, with various meat/ fish/ veg/ carbs.

if I ate a 4 egg omelette I would feel
stuffed without half a chicken

WheresMyHatGone · 30/03/2026 12:02

It is a dreadful diet. So much fat and barely any fruit and veg. Your cholesterol must be sky high.

Deadleaves77 · 30/03/2026 12:03

What is the motivation behind eating like this?

It's too much and too little at the same time. I feel if you just ate something with your block of cheese and bag of nuts like 2 slices of bread or some salad, maybe come crackers then you could get away with just eating a normal amount of cheese. Perhaps some fruit?

SylvanMoon · 30/03/2026 12:04

ivyball · 30/03/2026 11:28

I think is absolutely right, I go to the fridge and crave cheese so it’s hard to come back with something else, then I fancy nuts which gives me the taste for more cheese. It’s a vicious cycle.

If it is the "taste" of cheese that you are craving rather than the texture as well, then you might find Monarch's cheese "crackers" helpful. They are basically baked cheese, which gives you the proteins in cheese and the flavour without all the carbo and fat.

k1233 · 30/03/2026 12:04

It's not a balanced diet. Is there a reason you don't eat fruit and vegetables?

You are eating calorie dense food. You would feel much fuller if you ate protein and fibre. You could eat more by volume, therefore more filling, by eating low calorie foods such as fruit and veges.

Super rough calories from google
400g cheese - 1,800
100g nuts - 600
500g beef - 650-1270 depending on cut - so say 1000 calories mid range (easier math)
Alternatively 4 eggs - 300 + 2 pork chops - 400 (very rough as google gives a range)

Just those could be as much as 3400 calories.

Daily calorie requirements 5'2" female 1,600 to 2,200 calories per day to maintain weight, depending on age and activity level.

Contrarymary30 · 30/03/2026 12:06

I'm 5' 1 and it seems like a lot of food to me . My intake yesterday . 3 light baby belles 1 apple and 1 large tomato. 1 Greek yoghurt and a spoonful of honey . Out for tea so 1 tandoori chicken thigh 2 tbs basmati rice. 2 tbs prawn curry 2 tbs butter chicken . 1 samosa . 1 small piece of sponge cake . 1 large glass of wine . Probably not great nutritionally and high in calories for me but I don't go out often .

BillieWiper · 30/03/2026 12:07

That's a lot of cheese! But I take it you're doing keto/v low carb. The nuts and cheese would be mad calorie wise. I guess it doesn't make you gain if you don't have carby stuff with it?

It's difficult to say if it's enough or too much or not. If you're a healthy weight and you're maintaining then it must be fine.

My mum would love your cheese grazing though. She is a total cheese addict. I like it alright but could never just munch away on loads of it. Maybe on one toastie.

WellyBellyBoo · 30/03/2026 12:08

Where are the carbs and five a day? Way too much cheese (loads of salt and very bad for cholesterol). More than a handful of nuts is too many. It looks like a protein only diet - is that on purpose? I'd feel awful eating that, but if it works for you do what you like.

HazelMember · 30/03/2026 12:08

What do you weigh?

You went out for dinner and measured your curry and rice in tablespoons?!?

What the actual fuck?! This is so sad.

ImImmortalNowBabyDoll · 30/03/2026 12:09

Unless you're a pro-level weight lifter, you are eating far, far too much and your diet is completely unbalanced. I am not some sort of nutrition expert but I'm 5'3" and this is a typical day for me:

Coffee with milk
Tuna and cheese toastie with sauerkraut
1 fillet of salmon with a reduced fat creme fraiche sauce, new potatoes boiled and lightly fried with a bit of bacon and peas and a green veg on the side.

A couple of glasses of wine on Friday and Saturday

Obviously dinner changes but it's at least half veg and never 4 eggs and 2 pork chops. If I was having pork chops I wouldn't also need an omelette and if I was having a fried egg with something it would be 1 egg!

Agree.
Also must be very high salt intake with all that cheese.
Too much salt puts a strain on your body and can lead to very serious problems eg high blood pressure. Kidney disease.
Cardio vascular impaired.
Is this really how you eat??
Why? How did it develop ?

Maybeitllneverhappen · 30/03/2026 12:11

Is there an actual reason for such a weird diet?

blankcanvas3 · 30/03/2026 12:12

When was the last time you had a poo? Seriously, if I ate like this I would be so constipated I could barely move

I just cannot get over the cheese 😂

Horribly unhealthy, excessive in fat and calories, and bad for your wallet and the environment.

Wheres your fruit

LastHotel · 30/03/2026 12:15

I think the cheese is a lot but the nuts are ok. But it depends what sort of nuts. If it’s salted peanuts, that’s not great. If you’re talking walnuts, some Brazil nuts, hazelnuts etc, that’s much much better.

Paveparadiseputupaparkinglot · 30/03/2026 12:15

It’s a weird way of eating! All that cheese will be so salty and your cholesterol will be through the roof! You’re not having carbs which is why you’re hungry.

ahsurelookit · 30/03/2026 12:16

The lack of carb is keeping you hungry.

Add some carb and fruit/ veg. Really cut back on the cheese. I love cheese. If you can't resist it don't keep it in the house

SherbetDipDap · 30/03/2026 12:18

How constipated are you?!

This sounds like very disordered eating to me.
