This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

Good god! That's a pretty appalling diet, I have to say. Massively too much fat (your poor liver must be struggling), almost no fibre and binge drinking alcohol every week. You will undoubtedly cause yourself a lot of health problems if you continue.

Do yourself a huge favour and join Zoe. Get your gut microbiome tested and then subscribe to the Zoe app and follow the advice on there. Your future self will thank you.

You might also want to get some blood tests done, to check the state of your liver and kidneys and whether you have significant inflammation or vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

You owe it to yourself to change your lifestyle and start looking after your body - it's the only one you'll ever have.

Quite a bizarre unbalanced diet I’d say. I wouldn’t expect you to be overweight on that amount but just doesn’t look like a good range of food.

You can’t be serious. There is no ways she’s not obese/

Waterbaby41 · 30/03/2026 19:21

That's a huge amount of food daily.

Starlight1979 · 30/03/2026 15:52

Why are you not answering anyone asking about your weight?

Because no one can eat that much food day in and out and no exercise, and be a healthy weight. 🤣

StephensLass1977 · 30/03/2026 19:33

I used to be absolutely addicted to cheese. Like, I would grate it on absolutely everything. Then I would have cheese sandwiches and baked potato with cheese on top. Every day. If I had a meal that cheese didn't work with, I'd actually get irritablie.

I also worked out a LOT but was always at 11. 5 stone. Even 12 at one point. I'm 5 ft 2.

In 2024 I decided enough was enough and straight out gave up cheese. I do have one tiny stick a day and that's it. I was also on Orlistat tablets for a few months. Alongside still working out and the new healthy eating, I've lost 3 stone.

I don't know what your question was, but if you're trying to lose weight, start with giving up cheese.

Middlemarch123 · 30/03/2026 19:36

I eat your typical day, of protein and fats over 4 or 5 days. Half my intake is fruit and vegetables. I’d be overweight and worried about cholesterol and heart health on your diet OP. And constipated, very constipated. I’m a lot taller and on the midrange of ideal bmi btw.

ForeverTheOptomist · 30/03/2026 19:36

You need to see a dietician. If you potentially have food intolerance, or are celiac, you will need help with this.

Purplebunnie · 30/03/2026 19:38

@Willowy2 oooh please point me in the direction of pea protein banana bread recipe. Also we used to get really good pea protein but have our source has disappeared - where do you source from

Sorry OP for derailing

Soullesspig · 30/03/2026 19:44

Put the cheese down

EdFupp · 30/03/2026 19:50

Over 3kg of cheese a week is crazy. I assume you’re deliberately eating low-carb, but I wouldn’t call the rest of your diet particularly balanced either. I mean if it works for you, in terms of your weight and energy levels, that’s fine, but that amount of fat can’t be good for your health long-term.

PfizerFan · 30/03/2026 19:51

Why won't OP tell us why she's asking, and whether or not she's actually overweight?? Tell us op!

Etoile41 · 30/03/2026 19:52

ivyball · 30/03/2026 14:19

Yes methylphenidate so jus monitored

You describe disorderd eating. Have a look at the link with ADHD.

ADHD is strongly linked to several forms of disordered eating, especially binge‑type patterns. It also includes loss‑of‑control eating, emotional overeating, impulsive eating, and sometimes restrictive patterns.

The relationship is indirect and driven by shared traits like impulsivity, inattention, emotional dysregulation, and dopamine‑seeking.

Sorry OP for derailing

This is what I use:

3 bananas
2 eggs
90 g caster sugar
100 ml oil
150 ml any milk
125 g plain flour
75 g pea protein powder
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp pumpkin seeds on top
Bake 180°C / 160°C fan ~40–45 min

With regards to pea protein powder I use Sevenhills Wholefoods.

Hope that helps.

VoiceFromThePit · 30/03/2026 19:59

more food than a 6 foot man needs 😂

Shinyhappyapple · 30/03/2026 19:59

That’s got to be one of the strangest weekly eating plans I’ve seen. If you are low carbing you are still meant to vegetables / salad. Do you drink water? Are you not seriously constipated? I know we are told to increase protein intake nowadays but I don’t think they mean to that extent.

PfizerFan · 30/03/2026 19:51

Oh cmon, no human being is not obese eating that, unless a serious body builder. No 5 foot 2 sedentary woman is not obese eating that so the answer is obvious, her family habe been telling her her weight is due to how much she eats and she’s been saying that’s not the case as she only eats one meal a day.

Poetnojo · 30/03/2026 20:11

likelysuspect · 30/03/2026 11:51

I mean even though this is a ridiculous and nonsense thread, some of the replies are quite telling about the average mindset

So many replies asking 'are you trying to lose weight'

The thread is in AIBU and not weight loss chat

OP doesnt imply or indicate that she is embarking on a calorie deficit, simply asking is it too much food or too little. And she doesnt clarify whether she means by volume or by macros.

People always think that your diet is A diet, when quite simply your diet is your way of eating

I think people will obviously assume that the OP is very overweight if she has been eating around 2500 cals per day just on cheese and nuts not even including her actual meals over years. It would be hard to believe otherwise unless she's some sort of athlete, which she herself has said she's definitely not.

Never2many · 30/03/2026 20:16

So you’re eating over 3KG of cheese a week? That’s nearly 15000 calories.

And you weigh what? 33 stone?

DuchessofStaffordshire · 30/03/2026 20:18

Poetnojo · 30/03/2026 20:11

I don't know of any athletes that consume a whole block of cheese a day. I've gone (relatively) high (healthy) fat, low carb on cuts before but it is not the best way to eat for muscle and strength growth.

plsdontlookatme · 30/03/2026 20:23

Way too much saturated fat and way too little fibre and vit c. I find that cutting out an entire macronutrient group (in your case, carbs) is a recipe for chronic hunger.

plsdontlookatme · 30/03/2026 20:25

I've recently started eating cheese after years of no dairy and I have to say it makes me heave!! What on earth am I missing!? Genuine question

Abcdgse · 30/03/2026 20:28

Maybe op doesn't want to comfirn if shes over weight or not. It could be something that she's really struggling with mentally and emotionally.

Op Maybe you could talk to a dietician aboit heathly eatung if you want to.

Hellohelga · 30/03/2026 20:29

Shocking diet, not at all balanced. Where’s the fruit and veg and healthy grains? Way too much fat and protein. Do you feel well? Are you spotty and constipated? Surprised you haven’t had a heart attack.

"I really recommend the Longley Farm cottage cheese - I hate cottage cheese and would flinch if someone recommended it to me, but honestly that range is DELICIOUS, so rich and creamy. It’s 250kcals a pot and 30g protein, a great breakfast for a cheese lover"
@SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite I've seen this recommended on MN before and really want to try it. Please could you tell me where to buy this ~ I can't find it in Sainsburys
Many thanks

It's revolting, trust me.

Crushed23 · 30/03/2026 20:39

Out of interest, what is your BMI at 5’2 and with that diet @ivyball?

I can’t tell if this is one of those “but I’m still a size 8!” type of MN threads or not.
