This is what I’ve eaten over the last 7 days.
Does this seem like too much food to you or not a lot of food?
Female 5 foot 2.

Day 1

4 egg omelette with 2 pork chops and red pepper, sweet corn.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts spread out and picked on over the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 2

3 chicken thighs and 2 chicken legs with some veg.
Snacks - half a 900g pack of cheddar cheese and half a 200g pack of mixed nuts picked on throughout the day.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 3
4 egg omelette and pack of prawns, sweetcorn and spinach.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g bag of Mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 4
Half a roast chicken picked at.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheese and half a packet of 200g nuts to pick throughout the day.
5 cups of decaf coffee.

Day 5
4 fried eggs, mushrooms, an avocado, tomatoes and bacon.
Snacks - half a pack of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 6
500g diced beef fried with red pepper and mushrooms.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half a packet of 200g mixed nuts.
5 cups decaf coffee.

Day 7
1 Tin of tuna and salad.
Snacks - half a packet of 900g cheddar cheese and half packet of 200g mixed nuts.
1 bottle of white wine.

2 fillets of salmon with green beans, broccoli and red pepper.
Snacks - half a 900g packet of cheddar cheese and half a 200g packet of nuts.
5 cups of decaf coffee.
1 bottle of white wine.

I have used the term half a pack instead of (450g) cheese and 100g nuts because I thought people would be able to imagine a 900g block of cheese and 200g pack of nuts easier as that’s how they come.
Does this sound like too much food or not enough food please?
I typically eat one meal a day in the morning and pick on cheese and nuts sporadically for the rest of the day.
This is because I need to eat until I’m full or I will still feel hungry after so I eat a big main meal first thing as it works for me and I feel full.
The cheese and nuts are because of a craving for cheese. I love my cheese.

I'm 5ft 7 and fairly active. Yesterday I ate:

Breakfast - one boiled egg and a slice of brown sourdough toast, an orange, two table spoons of plain greek yoghurt topped with fruit and nut muesli. Cup of tea.

Lunch - Cheese, pastrami and sauerkraut toastie. Cup of green tea. Water.

Pub - three pints of beer

Dinner - Home made pilau rice with peas and smoked mackerel, water, cup of herbal tea, two squares of 80% dark chocolate.

Being the weekend it was a bit more indulgent than usual.

Yeah but did your cheese, pastrami and sauerkraut toastie include a pound(!) of cheese?

If not you aren't really qualified to comment.

(Impressed by the three pints though...)

YomAsalYomBasal · 30/03/2026 13:46

Surely you’re very overweight on that? It might only be one meal but crikey that’s some fat and calorie intake. A matchboxed size amount of cheese a day is what I was always taught. Also how do you afford that much cheese?!

ivyball · 30/03/2026 13:46

LostinSpace99 · 30/03/2026 13:32

We're all so shocked by the cheese, but do you also honestly eat 500g of beef in one meal? That's enough meat for 5 people

I do yes, I fry it with red pepper and mushrooms and put it in a dish and then I eat it as one meal instead of 3.

You eat 450g a cheese a day WITH A HEART CONDITION???

What effect do you think the cheese is having on her low blood pressure?

NigellaDelia · 30/03/2026 13:47

I would have thought the 'traffic light' information on the packets of cheese & nuts would have alerted you that you shouldn't be eating those products in large quantities . . .

Nannyfannybanny · 30/03/2026 13:49

We need to know how tall you are, and what you weigh. I love the "are you part mouse"..Is your surname Wallace?

I'm 5' 1 and it seems like a lot of food to me . My intake yesterday . 3 light baby belles 1 apple and 1 large tomato. 1 Greek yoghurt and a spoonful of honey . Out for tea so 1 tandoori chicken thigh 2 tbs basmati rice. 2 tbs prawn curry 2 tbs butter chicken . 1 samosa . 1 small piece of sponge cake . 1 large glass of wine . Probably not great nutritionally and high in calories for me but I don't go out often .

Well, that is pretty disordered eating, too.

Dunnocantthinkofone · 30/03/2026 13:50

Put simply, you are going g to kill yourself early eating like that.
Its so abjectly awful that I’m assuming you’ve made it up

Mangelwurzelfortea · 30/03/2026 13:52

Seems a bit disordered, half body-builder, half mouse. Where are the fruit and veg? I'd feel permanently sick if I ate like that - and constipated as hell.

Your days make no sense. (Perhaps cut down on the excessive white wine intake. At least your father drank red wine)

Yikes I don’t want those. I’m lucky no digestive issues so far.

You are high risk for gall stones with this diet, especially as a woman in her 40s & even more so if you are overweight. Have a look at the risk factors. I had them - very painful. Removing my gall bladder has left me with lifelong IBS type issues and I can't tolerate eating as much fat e.g. cheese.

But you wouldn’t eat three mince based meals a day!

The cheese is £4.99 in aldi and the nuts are £1.75 that will last two days. Is that particularly expensive? Less than £3.50 a day for all snacks.
I do agree it’s too much cheese though.

Well no probably not.
This thread has gone the opposite way that I was expecting, I thought my family were being ridiculous so I came to see what others thought.
I thought people were going to tell me I ate really healthy meals or that I should eat more because one meal a day isn’t enough.

Genuine question: what's your reasoning for thinking you have a 'great diet' as you said in a previous post. What aspects of your meals (and more importantly your overall food consumption) did you think were healthy?

likelysuspect · 30/03/2026 13:55

Yes how did you come about this combination of foodstuffs?

TheSnappyHelper · 30/03/2026 13:55

I'm fascinated that you haven't got any carbohydrate in there! How do you feel on this diet? Are you energised? Tired? Can you think quickly?

You've got veg in there for vitamins, which is good. But I can't get over the lack of carbs! They're so important for our body. 70% of what I eat is probably carbs. (I'm also 5' 2", size 10).

It looks like a lot of food to me, because a lot of the things you're eating are very nutrient-dense and heavy. (Also that much cheese is too much for your arteries.. can you have smaller amounts of a stronger one like gruyere so you get the flavour but less volume?)

I’ve done 8 days instead of 7 miscalculated but that’s 2 different days there.

Rocket1982 · 30/03/2026 13:56

You are eating 3,000 plus calories per day so it's too much. 450 g cheese/day is a very unusual diet. Basically you're eating your daily calories in cheese alone more or less, but then you are also eating probably 1200-1500 calories in nuts and other food. It's healthy to eat a variety of foods but your diet in terms of where you get your calories from, is very dominated by cheese. This might have long term consequences if you are not getting a variety of nutrients.

450g of cheese isn't a "snack" 😐

2spensive · 30/03/2026 13:57

Wow, asking for a heart attack.

Solost92 · 30/03/2026 13:57

Don't know about volume and calories but it's fucking WEIRD. You eat half a pack of cheese every day... are you a fucking rat?! Your bathroom must stink!

Yeah I dunno, each to their own but maybe some fibre?

LemonsMakelimes · 30/03/2026 13:58

I’m sorry OP but I struggle to believe that anyone is stupid enough to believe that eating half an extra large family sized block of cheese PER DAY is healthy. Let alone the 500g beef in one go etc. I actually dont believe this is real.

Unpaidworkmakestheeconomytick · 30/03/2026 13:58

You need way, way, waaaaaaaay more vegetables.

SilenceInside · 30/03/2026 13:58

@ivyball is there a reason that you don't want to say what your current weight is or whether you are gaining, staying the same or losing weight?

likelysuspect · 30/03/2026 13:59

If this is true, which of course it must be.... erm, there is no need for posters to be rude to the OP.

Not necessary to mention bathrooms stinking. Guess what, poo smells, no matter what you eat.
