10am on a Sunday. Why should everyone suffer because someone can’t keep their kids amused indoors for a couple of hours. This is why we have so many selfish adults because they’re brought up thinking that only their needs matter and sod everyone else.

I’ve seen this on other threads. Does no one let their kids watch iPad/tv with a bowl of cereal on weekends anymore?! Me and brother did this in 70s/80s and surprisingly it didn’t rot our brains!

10am

A neighbour has two children that she is waiting on an adhd assessment for. They are hyper. She is a lovely good kind neighbour and has a great routine with her children who are lovely and polite but just hyper and very physical. If they are out playing early I don’t care. She had enough stress without people complaining about children making noise while playing. For me it’s all context. If people are otherwise good neighbours then this type of stuff doesn’t bother me. I’m just glad I’m not having to actually get out of bed to supervise them. I just tune it out.

I love this! You sound amazing! I don’t have SEN children or children or bounce in the in the early hours but I am a TA and I love how empathetic you are xxx

9.30 am on a Sunday

Oldgoatinaboat · 29/03/2026 11:21

These people suggesting 8am, seriously? Kids need to be brought up understanding consideration and respect for other people... and not that the world revolves around them and their need to go outside and play noisily early in the morning. The little darlings won't die from doing something else indoors and actually being bored for a few hours. It's an important part of their development to learn how to entertain themselves quietly sometimes.

whatifs1 · 29/03/2026 11:29

wouldn’t matter round here, people let their dogs bark all hours, I’d prefer the kid bouncing tbf.

I’d let mine out at 10am

TheKittenswithMittens · 29/03/2026 11:30

Are they overlooking your garden? If so, could you do some naked sun bathing?

Haha

We did that. That was what got us to 8am 😂

TheChicDreamer · 29/03/2026 11:32

Our neighbours have hired someone with an industrial jet washer to come and do their patio. It’s been going since 11am non stop. I’d swap it for a hundred kids screaming on a trampoline 🤯

WheretheFishesareFrightening · 29/03/2026 11:32

8am - and I have no kids so no skin the game, but would accept that grumbling before 8am is a me problem.

newornotnew · 29/03/2026 11:34

8am.

InBedBy10 · 29/03/2026 11:34

As the mother of 4 children, im shocked at the amount of people saying 8am. Have some consideration. Its Sunday, probably the only day all week some people can sleep in. Id say no earlier than 10am. Kids can watch YouTube or cartoons until then.

Onleemoi · 29/03/2026 11:36

10am please. Grateful to the parents who get this.

I think expecting people to wait until 10am to go in their garden is ridiculous on any day.

Yes quite.

If you need that level of silence, live in a remote property.

By 8am I will hear delivery lorries, dogs, garden tools and kids.

My kids were not noisy, so 8am is fine.

If your kids are noisy that's something you could work on.

LottieMary · 29/03/2026 11:38

Are you my neighbour?! We were out doing an hours gardening and playing this morning before we go out later. Went out about 10; id have let them out 9ish on a weekend

PistolPacker · 29/03/2026 11:40

I'd say 9:00am.

7 or 8am any day. Why is Sunday different?

Ooh, I couldn't possibly think... 🙄

🤣🤣 did i hit a nerve? You seem to be taking my comment very personally.

Ducktop · 29/03/2026 11:43

8 am I reckon.

We live in an apartment and there's a clause about noise. No intrusive noise between 11 pm and 7 am. It doesn't differentiate between days. But, by unspoken consensus, on weekends we all try to be quiet till 8.

After that, well people have lives to live, stuff they need to get done, kids also have things they need to do, like play, run, get about and not be silent.

KeeleyJ · 29/03/2026 11:44

Depends how much my neighbours annoy me through the week with their door slamming and dog barking.....

Could be 7am or 10 am.....

Onleemoi · 29/03/2026 11:45

We’re not comparing kids and dogs are we? Thought that wasn’t allowed.

Indeed. Dogs are allowed everywhere and can do anything, kids need to be rehomed if neighbours are ever aware of their existence

I missed the rehoming kids post. Thought people were just suggesting they start their garden screaming a little later on weekends.

Flushitdown · 29/03/2026 11:56

8am

9am for anything noisier like a lawn mower or DIY.
