8am

Passaggressfedup · 29/03/2026 13:30

We did that. That was what got us to 8am
The maybe 10am istime you start interacting g with your kids maybe?

Playing games or even got them to help with chores?

canuckup · 29/03/2026 13:36

Sunday = 10am.

MildlyAnnoyed · 29/03/2026 13:39

Just bouncing anytime. Bouncing & screaming 10am.

RudolphTheReindeer · 29/03/2026 13:50

9am. Screeching like they're being murdered - never!

NobodysChildNow · 29/03/2026 14:00

10am on a Sunday, 9am on a Saturday

WiseSheep · 29/03/2026 14:18

8am but I do think it depends where you live to an extent. Surrounded by other young families? 8. No neighbours? 7. Middle of an estate? 9.

So 9pm, when children are trying to sleep, is fine to be noisy? Why is it okay to disturb children but not adults?

Exactly what I think

My neighbours often play music in their garden until 11 pm which disturbs my kids so I feel they can live with my kids being up early

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 29/03/2026 14:28

I can't believe the amount of posters saying 9am! On a Sunday. And a few have even said 8am! LOL! Feck that!

I would say 10am at the earliest. Even 10.30am.

My neighbour has a little girl - nearly 5 - and she has 2 other little children (4 and 6) playing with her DD three or four times a week. (The family the other 2 are from - opposite us both,) have a tiny garden, and my next door neighbour has a good sized garden, and has a little trampoline, a swing and slide set, and a little bouncy castle. And she lets these 2 others around as it's company for her one child, and someone for her to play with...)

The earliest she EVER lets them play is 11am. Because she's a nice, considerate person who cares about others.

10am.

No-one round my way does anything noisy earlier than that on a Sunday, no lawn mowing, DIY, engine revving etc.

Neurodiversitydoctor · 29/03/2026 14:36

11am is nuts especially in high Summer....you would be wanting to get them in out of the sun at that time.....

For toddlers especially 11am is ridiculous.

They often have lunch then a long nap, they would barely get outside before bed

Stickytoffeetartt · 29/03/2026 15:09

With young dc I can only wonder what it must be like to have a lie in 🤣
I wouldn't care what kind of noise is outside if I didn't have to get up! it wouldn't make any difference to me. Fair enough if someone does shift work but for everyone else, would you actually sleep past 9/10am? Even before dc I would have been awake by 8.

Well, it largely depends on the time you go to bed and how much sleep you need as an individual, doesn’t it? I don’t personally usually sleep much later than 8 but if I’ve been up late (as many will on a Saturday) I sleep later. You being awake by 8 is just you. Others may like the opportunity to sleep longer, or to doze after waking, or to read a book in peace and quiet. I think that should be allowed on a Sunday morning, personally.

10am.

My kids are adults now. I have chronic illnesses and disabilities and if I get the chance I do have a day at the weekend where I can sleep til 11. Any loud noise before 9 on a Sunday would make me annoyed.

moleeye · 29/03/2026 15:34

I have a 7 & 11 year old, and not before 10am!

AgnesMcDoo · 29/03/2026 15:37

9am

RaininSummer · 29/03/2026 15:39

10 am. Some people including me enjoy a Sunday lie after a working week.

I would say not before 9. A lot of people don't seem to realise how noisy trampolines are.

Agree with this.
My neighbour has put their son's trampoline right next to my house, away from their own. Can't figure out if its on purpose because they understand the noise and dont want it next to them or not. Tbh their son isnt loud, but the bloody trampoline, all I can hear is the springs every time he jumps. If im downstairs its next to the living room, if im upstairs its next to my bedroom.

But you'll still get a lie in regardless of the noise so what does it matter?

Suriana · 29/03/2026 15:44

I0am on a Sunday I’d say. Maybe 11am this morning.

Because I can't sleep through squealing or shrieking

But you don't actually have the right to peace and quiet after 7am 🤣

Jefes · 29/03/2026 15:48

I'd be fine with any time after sunrise. Our bedroom faces the front and is on the 3rd floor, so I don't think I'd hear them. But also my dcs have a dance class on Sundays at 10am so we'd never be having lie-ins till then.
