10am on a Sunday. Why should everyone suffer because someone can’t keep their kids amused indoors for a couple of hours. This is why we have so many selfish adults because they’re brought up thinking that only their needs matter and sod everyone else.

RaspberryRipple3 · 29/03/2026 10:35

I reckon quiet bouncing and no shouting from 8am, bouncing with shouting/child noise from 9am, lawnmowers 9.30am onwards.

looselegs · 29/03/2026 10:37

My kids were out as soon as they were up! Especially in the summer before it got too hot. I'm a childminder so still have children in the house.
I have neighbours who will use power tools and lawnmowers at stupid o'clock....my ndn was cutting logs at 7.30 last week....and the neighbour next to him decided to knock a rockery down at 7.10 the week before- it was still getting light!
I have neighbours who let their dogs bark in the early hours and my ndn loves a bit of car door slamming too! The man opposite loves to load his van at about 6.00..
So I don't worry about the neighbours, because they don't worry about me...

General playing in the garden 9am.

Trampoline 10am, especially if you have a child that bounces and screams or a trampoline that squeaks.

WhamBamThankU · 29/03/2026 10:40

I’d say 10 and that’s what I did with my kids when younger

snickersnackers · 29/03/2026 10:41

9am. But more importantly grease or silicone lubricate the springs because the repetitive squeaking noise is highly annoying at any time of day.

TrashHeap · 29/03/2026 10:42

10am, with no screaming.

Walkden · 29/03/2026 10:42

Legally - 7am.

Usually most people would keep the kids inside until 8 or 9 am though. Obviously tending towards 8 am is more common now we will have lighter mornings. .

Obviously done people are completing that 9am today is more like 8am but I wouldn't whine about kids being out 9 am today.

Iocanepowder · 29/03/2026 10:42

I’m not fussed but i get up early every day anyway.

I’d say 9am maybe. But i’d also be fine with 8am.

BenedictsButton · 29/03/2026 10:42

7am I reckon.

Malinia · 29/03/2026 10:42

9am at the earliest, ideally a bit later.

Iocanepowder · 29/03/2026 10:43

I think expecting people to wait until 10am to go in their garden is ridiculous on any day.

Sartre · 29/03/2026 10:43

I say 10am at the weekend in general. Not everyone has children in our area and people like to have a lie-in.

IAxolotlQuestions · 29/03/2026 10:44

8am. Technically they can be there from 7am, but 8am is reasonable.

TittyGajillions · 29/03/2026 10:45

2pm for a maximum of half an hour.

Atatwalker · 29/03/2026 10:45

today? 10am. 9am normally on a Sunday as long as they aren’t shrieking.

edit for spelling. But. 😂 the autocorrect game was strong.

Boots89 · 29/03/2026 10:46

I'd be murderous if kids were playing in the garden on a Sunday at 8am!

10 earliest.

Topseyt123 · 29/03/2026 10:46

Around 5 am seems good to me!

Seriously though, from about 10am.

Unpaidviewer · 29/03/2026 10:51

Surely this depends on your neighbours? Ours all have small children and are in their own gardens anyway.

MrsBennetsPoorNervesAreBack · 29/03/2026 10:55

I think 10am if you actually want to be considerate towards your neighbours. But 9am is not unreasonable.

Before 9am would shift you into bad neighbour territory imo.

FruAashild · 29/03/2026 10:58

I hope the 10am people don't go out after 6pm so that people with small children can get them to bed without being disturbed.

All our immediate neighbours have either children or grandchildren and the sound of footballs or trampolines or people enjoying their garden in the evening is part of living in a nice area where people have gardens that are used by the whole family. If you don't want to hear trampolines live in a flat (where you'll be longing for the neighbour's children to go outside early in the morning) or in the countryside (where the animals will keep you awake all night). Some noise is part of life and if you need silence outside until 10am then you are the problem, not the children enjoying their garden.

SparkyBlue · 29/03/2026 11:04

A neighbour has two children that she is waiting on an adhd assessment for. They are hyper. She is a lovely good kind neighbour and has a great routine with her children who are lovely and polite but just hyper and very physical. If they are out playing early I don’t care. She had enough stress without people complaining about children making noise while playing. For me it’s all context. If people are otherwise good neighbours then this type of stuff doesn’t bother me. I’m just glad I’m not having to actually get out of bed to supervise them. I just tune it out.

ThisSunnyBee · 29/03/2026 11:06

10

Nuffpills · 29/03/2026 11:07

10am normally but today 1030 to allow for clock change. Good to show consideration for the neighbours ,sets good example to the children.

LouH1981 · 29/03/2026 11:10

Some of us with children have lived an entire day before 9am, especially if they are up at 5am.
You never know how long the children were asking and parents were saying no because it was still too early.
So I’d say 8am.
Trampolining and fresh air is a great way to regulate, calm down and get some energy burned off.
I’d rather the sound of a bouncing child than a chain saw or lawn mower any day.
