I think Nigel Farage is a shrewd, intelligent political operator and will be considered as one of the most consequential politicians of the first quarter of this century by historians in the future.

And no, I won’t be voting for Reform.

People who leave large teams calls (150+ people) and have to announce they are going, or that they have another meeting...you are insignificant, no one cares. And don't get me started on the 30+ people who are thanking the director at the end of the call...they aren't making a note of your name brown-noser. If the meeting was in person you would just leave the hall, you wouldn't go up to them to say thank you, so stop causing me to be pinged with all your thank yous

I bet you don't thank bus drivers, either

Can we add this to the list of things people have to write out 100 times until they get it right please?
It's "hear hear"

If anyone has ever seen Cathy Bates in the parking scene in Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe that’s what I feel like. Quite often.

TOWANDA!

Onbdy · 19/03/2026 00:26

Your ex probably wasn’t a narcissist but merely a garden variety cunt.
Gentle parenting is utterly shit and producing a generation of entitled twats.
Too many people are exaggerating mental health issues because they are too lazy to work. These mental health issues would definitely improve if they had a job and sense of purpose.

Drivers who have a problem with cyclists are selfish bellends. God forbid someone be getting to their destination while getting some exercise causing you to have to slow down for 15 seconds. Best ban them and shout loudly about how you pay "road tax".

Oh bless. Are you feeling triggered as a cyclist?

TunafishSandwich · 19/03/2026 00:30

The woman doing exercise in the Ionos adverts looks a bit like Lucy Letby.

And broccoli and Stilton soup. Makes everywhere smell of vomit

i agree on Stilton , that cheese really takes the cheese

CassandraCan · 19/03/2026 00:50

Trans doesn’t exist. There’s just people who have mental health problems that need help.

if I identified as a pirate and wanted to chop off my leg and replace it with a wooden leg to feel more pirate-like, would people support my decision or get me the mental health support that I needed?

I hate 'Fink' and 'Free' instead of think and three.

Mumph is my favourite example of this.

What mumph is it? Febury, perhaps.

Oh! I just remembered:
James Bond films are awful. They are like a horny 14-year-old boy's fantasy of being a spy, worked into a 3 hour advert for men's luxury goods. The fact that they are almost universally taken seriously, with massive budgets thrown at them, Oscar nominations, huge red carpet events etc is proof that we live in a patriarchal society.

In a world with gender equality, it would be taken no more seriously than the female-orientated equivalent, which is probably Twilight.

I completely agree. I've never liked them.

excatly humans are like a machine to be studyed etc

Tell that to the male GP who sexually abused me when I was 16.
Doctors are still humans.

No man is EVER looking at my genitals if I can help it.

salagadoo · 19/03/2026 05:20

Women who wear those bum scrunch leggings brag basically imitate an anus especially when squatting at the gym with a sports bra that shows lots of cleavage are in fact doing it for attention and want people to look at them no matter how many people say ‘they are wearing it because it’s comfortable/for themselves/because it’s hot’. And saying just don’t look when they are squatting in front of your face is not as easy as it sounds and usually one does look away immediately but still gets a glimpse of thinking someone is essentially naked (esp in nude). If men did similar with super tight shorts emphasising their crotch we would be up in arms about it.

People who vote Reform UK are either thick as fuck, as in fully pig shit thick who believe in conspiracy theories and take The Sun as gospel. Or they are well educated but ignorant as fuck.

It didn't take long for the thread to turn proper nasty did it? As has been said, these threads always do....

Well it's true though. They really do lack the ability to think things through and question anything. If your answer to the problems society is facing are Farage, Tice, Jenrick and Braverman you deserve every ounce of misery their policies will inflict on your life. Those who will suffer the most, other than immigrants, under Reform's policies seem to be their keenest supporters. They seem glad to lose vital services, benefits, free health care, so long as some brown people get a kicking too. They're either very nasty people or clowns or both!

ThatPearlkitty · 18/03/2026 18:50

covid proved we only need so many essential workers for society, but because we cannot have population limits then we have to have humans being busy for the sake of being busy

On the flipside covid proved how many well paid careers in society aren't actually necessary at all! And how utterly fucked we'd be without many of those in jobs many in society look down upon.

Of course I do. I'm from Bristol and so I can't get off a bus without saying 'cheers drive'. Do you thank a train driver when you get off a train?

Imdunfer · 19/03/2026 07:11

Thank you, i don't need your education I am married to a man who would have been diagnosed as Apergers and it would definitely have been better for him if he had. More and more people, including clinicians, are saying that removing Aspergers as a diagnosis has been detrimental to those at both ends of the spectrum.

But this is not a thread about that, there is one running if you want that discussion.

But exactly the same can be said about those that vote Green. There’s a reason why mainstream political parties have very different policies. It’s because they’re the grown ups in the room and have to have proper, workable policies not the populist nonsense promoted by the extremists.

My child has Asperger’s. Hugely intelligent. Gets 100% in most stem exams and is distraught if they drop marks. Their needs are extremely different to an incontinent non verbal autistic child and it is daft to lump them together.
