What has he proposed?

Free housing, monthly allowance and the right to vote…no wait that wouldn’t make any sense if you were trying to discourage it !

Here you go. 18 seats short of a majority.

I hope you will ask my question in return.

Wow, I genuinely thought you were making it up. That’s a con/reform coalition then.

I hope you will ask my question in return.
Of course, what is a woman?

Nosea · 15/03/2026 18:23

Why do people think life in the EU is magically better? Is it? Lots of people there complain about their governments there. The tax burden tends to be higher there as well

It was, things got worse when we left. Still think it could be much worse though, and probably will if Farage and co manage to fool people for a second time. Hopefully enough will realize that before it' too late.

Yes, multiple times. I’m not going to search for you and post links. You will have to read for yourself.

Is number 1 on the list to leave the ECHR?

I would absolutely march in the streets on that. Those are my rights, my kids rights, everyone's rights. Anyone who thinks getting rid of that is a good idea is incredibly naive and short sighted.

Reform are a facist party. People don't like being told they support a far right party. Because people do remember the second world war. But if you read the definition of facist politics, they tick the right boxes.

Right now I don't think they will win. Because there will be a lot of sunlight on them, their views and their 'policies' in the next 4 years.

If things don't change? Dh can get a job anywhere. It's not just the thought of living in a country with them in power. It's the thought of enough of my neighbours voting for them. I don't want to pay tax to support people like that.

Please get a grip. Your throw around words like fascist willy nilly. Yes, they are on the right of politics but not fascist. When will you ever learn, calling people names like that because they don’t want uncontrolled dangerous immigration and prefer traditional values is laughable. You honestly won’t be missed.

Its an adult human female. A person who's biology gives her certain sex based rights that are very important to prevent her being discriminated against. These rights are mainly enshrined in the Equality Act. Which if you think Reform will get in, you might want to read now before they chuck it in the bin.

Sorry, just to check, what 'traditional values' will Reform be preserving? Traditional sexism and inequality?

That is the correct answer.

I take your point about the equality act and it is a valid point, but you have to balance it against authoritarianism, mass immigration, education tax, high unemployment, punitive taxes and blasphemy laws.

Leaving the echr or just ignoring the foreign court is needed

Regarding the boats the main thing would be do what the trump administration does. They just ignore the claims and send them back to their home country.

Note had we not Brexited many of those migrants who were naturalised by left wing states like Germany would be EU citizens with full right to stay here however long they wanted.

Ugh, I really hope we as a country don't start to model ourselves on Trump's ways and values, that really would be embarrassing.

PandoraSocks · 15/03/2026 17:26

Has Farage set out how he will stop the boats?

He doesn't have to at the moment because there isn't a General Election.

The focus should be on Labour and what they promised in their manifesto which was to stop the boats which they have failed to do. Already the number of crossings so far this year has exceeded that up to March of
2025.

This country is in such a mess. Too many people, high taxes, NHS in crisis, food bills rising, welfare bill out of control. I can see why people are turning to Reform.

Midnights68 · 15/03/2026 18:57

TooBigForMyBoots · 14/03/2026 23:43

Anyone voting Reform knows what they're getting. Incompetence, treason, misogyny, racism and a whopping rise in taxes.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y68r40yzgo

Do you think it’ll be tax rises?

The maths in their manifesto is obviously utter rubbish but my bet is that they’ll try to slash taxes and we’ll end with massive inflation as a result. And I reckon anyone who thinks the cost of living is high now will be in for a seriously nasty shock.

Agree on the incompetence, racism, treason and misogyny, though.

He at least is tackling the issue there. He just says "no" and sends them on their way.

Or encourages them to be dealt with violently. The man has no morals and probably isn't the best role model to follow.

Nosea · 15/03/2026 19:03

It's been 10 years since the 2014/2015 migrant explosion. Many EU nations were silly enough to let these people naturalise. Had we not left, there'd be no way we could turn them away.

shuggles · 15/03/2026 19:04

@Czerwonitz You can moan all you want, but everyone knows you don't really care.

Ireland is literally right beside the UK, the main language is English, and it's less than 1 hour flight to get there.

And yet, almost no one moved from the UK to Ireland following the Brexit referendum.

Why? Because we all know, despite your moaning, you don't really care and you're not going to follow through on anything.

Same thing is going to happen when Reform win. You can moan all you want. But you won't do anything.

By the way... in Ireland, there's a growing movement of people who also want immigration to be reduced.

(1) You can't turn them away anyway because they are travelling to the UK across the English channel.

(2) Some migrants could have been turned away before. The UK never imposed the toughest rules on immigration that were permissible under the EU. That's because Conservative politicians, on first name-terms with wealthy business owners, did not want to restrict immigration and upset business owners.

(3) Note that the UK has been moving towards a Danish model to impose tough immigration restrictions, and there is a massive outcry because apparently the Danish model is too punishing towards migrants and too strict... and yet, it seems to have completely flown over your head, and everyone else's heads, that Denmark is a country in the EU... ... ...

MaggieBsBoat · 15/03/2026 19:18

If you don’t see that Farage is a grifter then guess what, you’re the mark.

The left and the right, the liberals, the people who don’t really know, the greens, all need to get together on some level to stop the level of tomfoolery which is slowly destroying the UK, exemplified by Reform.
