He specifically said that he didn't realise Brexit would mean that he couldn't just move to Spain, and that he regretted his vote. But he was a big fan of Farage's latest grift nonetheless.

He was an idiot, and I won't be told these people are sympathetic, marginalised folk anymore. They're selfish, stupid, gullible fools, and Farage has even less respect for them than I do.

My dad lived in spain and actually became a resident. English people in his complex voted brexit then couldn't understand why the 90 limit applied to them. They thought Spain would make an exception for them, even wrote to the complex management to help them to stay. Hilarious and frightening at the same time.

I might buy a dingy and head to France

Same thing happened to my aunt in Portugal. It caused a lot of ill-feeling in the complex where she lived and the value of their properties plummeted.

It’s exactly the same as all the maga idiots. Happy to fund a war in Iran with their taxes costing 3 billion a day, despite 65000 US citizens dying every year because they can’t afford healthcare. They voted against Obama Care - the very people who need it the most.
My mother voted for Brexit and is still glad she did. Is in complete denial that it’s been a disaster.

Bet they’d still vote reform too!

@CoolFineDoneWicked are you saying the chap in Blackpool wanted to live in Spain but voted for Brexit anyway?

I mean, I presume there's still a way to go and live there even post Brexit

But if he wanted to live in Spain and he wanted Brexit, then he would've researched that?

But if he wanted to live in Spain and he wanted Brexit, then he would've researched that?

Im assuming this is sarcasm? 😀

Abhannmor · 15/03/2026 20:49

Ireland of course . Though I can confirm it is now cold , blowing a gale and hasn't stopped effing raining since Christmas. But I don't think Reform will win. Mr Farage is handcuffed to the Madman Across the Water. I'm not sure he really wants the aggro that goes with being PM anyway.
People are starting to see through him. Pity it's taken this awful war to concentrate minds.

Yes, the very definition of turkeys voting for Christmas while also paying for themselves to be slaughtered.

I know someone too, brexit voters, now pissed off they can't go to live in Spain. Its very weird. I genuinely don't understand how people fail to join the dots.

wiffin · 15/03/2026 21:21

And BTW. Reform is far right, because it's pretty far right of the mainstream parties. And there are multiple examples on the internet of media, academics, commentators etc making the case.

Being a populist political party does not preclude extreme politics. If it did, extreme parties would never be voted in.

If you don't like the fact that reform is far right. Maybe you should read their ideas a bit more? Vote them in on immigration. You'll get everything they want.

No. Genuinely did not get it. Its really bizarre and concerning.

God, this thread. Some of the stories. I mean, people really are thick, aren’t they? It’s mind-blowing.

Hello @Czerwonitz

I’d love to know what Labour are doing, that is so beneficial to me, I should not want to vote Reform?

I am a higher earner. Practicing Roman Catholic. One adult child. Diesel driver. Married female, who believes in biology, and has private heath care. And spends a significant amount of the year in America, with a real love of the Deep South.

On the other hand, Reform have aspirational policies to raise the lower and higher tax free personal allowance; remove inheritance tax on estates worth less than 2 million (my parents is worth 1.6 million); I also want to leave all my money to my child; and Reform wish to lower immigration and overall welfare bill.

I realise the argument will be that I’m selfish and it’s not just about me; I should morally want to support many other people as well as my own family; I should want to prop up a nice society for everyone to live in…but the reality is I loathe working and would like to not have to work. Yet I have to work because I have things to pay for and a standard of living to try to maintain and frankly, I’m pissed at having to maintain other people’s standard of living too. Especially when Labour just keep growing the welfare bill through low skill immigration and failure to force people into work and I see no improvement in society as a whole; just continuous decay including a crappy NHS; pothole filled roads; bins now collected every three weeks; rubbish everywhere; a breakdown in society as a whole; less respect for the sanctity of marriage and the family etc etc etc and even my family who have worked every hour in Gods day for years and years, are feeling the pinch.

So am I actually stupid? Maybe Reform won’t deliver…but I don’t know that yet. I do know Labour isn’t delivering for me. The Greens would be a shit show for me (and probably everyone the truth be told). The Conservatives were useless, so why not take a punt on the party whose policies align mostly with my beliefs.

If it turns out they have lied, which it might, then I will consign them to the ‘useless bullshitters’ bin along with all the other parties. But I’m willing to vote to see.

So once again…why should I vote the other parties?

Yes. as I said there are also multiple examples of the same people making the case that men can grow a cervix. It’s not really very credible and people probably ignore anything else you say when you claim something like that.

For you. But for a lot of us, it is pretty good. We have options (UK & EU), we enjoy cultural pursuits, travel and follow some epic sports. Life is good.

Absolutely nobody is good but reform have a manifesto that could be mistaken for a historical record from Germany circa 1933

You don't make things better by voting for evil and destructive people

Oh, I’ve read their manifesto. Could you point me to the parts that could be mistaken for something from “Germany circa 1933”?
I must have missed that part.

Oh and who should I vote for then?

Better to be white, Christian, poor and eating nothing but turnips than living under the current indignity of Sharia law. Let them finish what Brexit started, and stop the remaining flow of insipid Dutch tomatoes altogether.

I almost feel like we’ve got to the point where some people might say this and mean it! If it weren’t for the Dutch tomatoes I’d have believed it!

Exactly! I’m so fed up of virtue signalling idiots. Academics desperate for grants, media in the pay of overseas interests mums desperate for validation on the playground. None of them understand or care about the destruction of British Society and culture..

we will be lucky to survive this Labour government and the Greens would put the nail in the coffin with its valueless. Megalomaniac gun for hire leader. Then they would piss on the grave.

immigration is a massive issue, the collapse of family life is an issue both these things seem important to Reform.

It would be incredible helpful if you could point out how it could be mistaken for this when Reform don’t have a manifesto.

See, they give us nothing to work with.
They don’t even have a compelling reason not to vote Reform. They just throw verifiably untrue insults. Yet Reform voters are the ones being called stupid.

True! It isn’t a manifesto yet is it! They just have a list of policies at the moment op. But you’re welcome to take a look and confirm that there is nothing remotely like 1933 Germany.

How can we persuade folk to not vote Reform?? Whar are the arguments??
