The World has no idea about what missiles and drones Iran will have access to in a weeks time, they to have allies.

RedToothBrush · 01/03/2026 09:26

Do you think Iran will be able to launch missiles and drones in weeks time?

Really?

I think this conflict has potential to impact goods being imported for weeks yes.

Nutmuncher · 01/03/2026 09:28

Angelic999 · 01/03/2026 09:17

Oh you think so? I'm not so sure. Dubai is very reliant on importing goods, including food. Yeah things are fine for a day or two. See what happens in weeks.

I agree. The logistical chaos that comes from airspace closures has a huge knock on effect. If this goes on for more than a few days then who knows what could happen. A cornered failing regime is wholly unpredictable. Anyone currently stuck in this mess needs to sharpen their situational awareness skills and start thinking of practical contingency plans.

StillCreatingAName · 01/03/2026 09:29

Now is a good time to not trust all the video footage you see. I wouldn’t be looking at any social media if I was worried about any friends and family caught up in some way.

CandidLurker · 01/03/2026 09:32

Russia probably not that happy either. They have a lot of citizens in Dubai and lots of them travel on package holidays to the other Emirates like Ras Al-Khaimah.

I did read that Saudi has some sort of defence pact with Pakistan so not sure what could happen with that.

Drones - Iran, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine are the countries with the biggest known production and capability. Russia is being supplied by Iran. 57000 Iranian drones have been used by Russia in Ukraine. But Russia needs it's own drones especially since it's not going to get any from Iran now.

Turkey isn't a friend of Iran. See Syria for further details.

Where else do you think Iran might get support from?

China is the only other place. It's not in Chinas economic interests to destabilise the region further. How do you think it gets goods by ship to Europe?

Oh "the world" will have a very good idea of the general picture, it's fairly clear even from open sources.

Allies (?Russia) or not Iran is certainly not going to be able to replenise stocks of medium range ballistic missiles and probably more importantly the mobile launchers (TELs) at a meaningful rate, if at all....the TELs will be being targetted the minute they break cover.

The drones are a different matter, as Ukraine has found out they might be a significant problem for quite some time...depends on how long the regime is able/willing to fight.

CreamolaFoam26 · 01/03/2026 09:34

Iran are targeting soft targets and made it clear they will target Oman. A border post is a target

On the contrary I’m quite sure it’s come as a very big surprise to the Omanis theyve been targeted considering they are considered within the Gulf to be the elder statesmen when it comes to diplomacy as well as being known for not getting involved in the affairs of other countries. Anything going on goes through the Omanis to the Iranians which is why when you see western hostages being brought out of Oran it’s Oman that has usually got them their freedom and they’re handed over to their countryreps in Oman. Theres also the fact that it’s just a few days ago they were mediating the peace talks that were going on and had said - we were very close to an agreement then Trump started bombing. They had even told the American government they were close to an agreement and it had featured on news channels in the states.

A border post? I’m not sure why it’s been mentioned. Duqum and Thimrait are no where near the borders from the Emirates though Thumrait it a very short fast fighterjet flight away from one of the Yemeni borders.

That's not launching drones. The weak point is launching and storing drones. They aren't small. The US and Israel with air superiority is a different prospect to Ukraine.

As if the world hasn’t enough problems and now this. 🥲

I was responding to the comment about people not likely to loot or cause chaos in UAE. My point is airspace and shipping routes are impacted and that could cause shortages which could cause chaos hence why UAE are putting out very limited info- to reduce the likelihood of mass panic in a country where people are trapped with no escape.

Ukraine's problem with drones is they don't have air superiority. They can't stop launch. The reverse is true for Russia. Iran is a different prospect for this reason. The US and Israel have control of it's skies. This not only matters but is crucial.

Ukraine said this from the very beginning of its war too.

USA alliance.

It's located directly across the Arabian/Persian gulf so an easy target for their capabilities.

There's been ongoing tensions for decades if not longer.

Revenge.

They know hitting Dubai will generate a lot of impact in media across world and create mass panic.

Yes I realise. I lived in Dubai for years and DH used to work in Jebel Ali FZ. No love lost between UAE and Iran and very different forms of Islam. But they maintained an uneasy peace most of the time.

Barrenfieldoffucks · 01/03/2026 09:42

Didn't Israel attack Iran first? And my understanding was that Iran have been a lot more open about their nuclear capacity, whereas Israel are deliberately ambiguous about theirs?

TheGander · 01/03/2026 09:45

Could this be good news for Ukraine , if Iran stops sending Shaheed missiles to Russia? Or will they just get them from somewhere else?

Saturday is a working day in Iran. Weekend is Thursday/Friday.

This is very true. There may be tonnes of fake stories. Strikes in other places being claimed as Dubai. Have seen this a lot in other conflicts in the region.

Also be super careful not to share and take footage. There are some really strict laws.

Iran has been financing terror groups and attacking Israel through its proxies for decades. They already destroyed Syria, Yemen and Iraq. They have a countdown clock to Israel's destruction in the middle of Tehran.

Agree, and any information issued by the rulers in UAE will be very carefully controlled. Their economies depend on oil and tourism and maintaining that will be priority.

I wonder who else has been financing terror groups for decades.

Oh yeah, that's right.
