..of asylum seekers..
On the news. Are we supposed to be impressed? They are just being shuffled elsewhere, aren't they?

You wanted them out of the hotel and they are. Still not happy though. Honestly if they don’t have anxiety or adhd let them stay. We need young people to work. We can’t rely on the pip generation to do it.

PIP is another subject, the whole system wants overhauling, but it won’t be.

Netcurtainnelly · 26/02/2026 20:15

Those in need are not always thankful though.
Many of them given refuge are raping and killing women.
Not a nice way to thank the country that helped you though.

You'd think after being given help and care they wouldn't dare step out of line.

Many?

Tricket · 26/02/2026 20:16

Who here with DDs would happily house an asylum seeker? Or be happy if they popped up near to your house? Would you feel safe walking around in your area?

Happyjoe · 26/02/2026 20:16

Tricket · 26/02/2026 20:00

A friend in crowborough says how he sees the asylum seekers deliver drugs, and hiss and leer at the women in the area.

Lol, people in Crowborough would say things like that anyway, they wouldn't like any 'outsiders' there. It's a fairly posh area of Sussex.

Thing is, at the moment they are here in the UK until processed and the camps are cheaper than hotels which everyone was moaning about last week. We do actually have to put them somewhere - and living on the streets is far higher a risk to society and crime will go up. Very hard to keep tabs on someone who's roaming around too.

Hellohelga · 26/02/2026 20:14

British kids won’t work in care homes. If they do apply they go once and don’t go back. That applies to lots of jobs actually. Immigrants will do it though.

No benefits might encourage them.

Tableforjoan · 26/02/2026 20:17

I mean if you commit a crime you should be deported or permanently detained in jail if there is a real reason you cannot be deported.

We have enough home grown criminals without importing more.

This thread is truly one of the most ill informed disgusting things I’ve ever read on here.

Tommy Robinson and his cronies have a lot to fucking answer for.

Allseeingallknowing · 26/02/2026 18:08

Whatever the accommodation they will still cost millions. If granted asylum they will then bring all their family over at even greater expense to the tax payer and strain on services.

This

KimuraTan · 26/02/2026 20:18

Yes there’s more of them popping up in our town. Single males, the lot of them.

Livelovebehappy · 26/02/2026 20:19

It’s a red herring. Labour are good at manipulating situations. Doesn’t mean they’ve been packed off back to France (unfortunately). They’ve just been shuttled into other places.

Happyjoe · 26/02/2026 20:20

Allseeingallknowing · 26/02/2026 20:01

They go through several safe countries before arriving. in the U.K. Why don’t more people stop in one of them? I think we know why!

They do stop. The place that has (or at least had last time I heard) the most asylum seekers is Lebanon. And they stop as the come to Europe, Germany, France, Italy. And Lebanon is a poor country with it's own issues.

But we also have a proportion of people who come to the UK because they have family or friend ties, or speak some English - one of the most spoken languages in the world. There are reasons why people come here and it's not all to do with benefits, or whatever it is you're blaming it on.

Somersetbaker · 26/02/2026 20:21

Allseeingallknowing · 26/02/2026 18:16

Yes, those with skills needed in the U.K. are welcome. A lot of those arriving in dinghies, will be low skilled, not have qualifications and will leech on the state

And we've got Reform voters to do that, so we don't need any more.

Stay here until their claims are processed? If not in hotels, houses or barracks - where? Hundreds laying on the streets? No! Stop them coming illegally in the first place.

So what’s your policy on this , shoot them in the water , ?? It’s not as if they are coming in via dangerous routes with permission. Anyone coming in via airports is nearly always coming in legally initially , be it work visa or holiday - one big issue is ‘overstayers ‘ who then sink into the black economy! We need big teams monitoring the black economy, huge fines on landlords renting to those not entitled to rent . When we lived in Copenhagen they were red hot on all this.

Livelovebehappy · 26/02/2026 20:24

suburburban · 26/02/2026 19:51

Perhaps but we need to get them into employment of some description however the farming work is seasonal so it is not always that straightforward

are these arrivals necessarily going to be carers?

Nope. Seeing as most are young men arriving here, they’re not going to be queuing up to work with the elderly. Nor would we want them to. We don’t know their history because they come here with a clean slate, often from countries who have no respect for women, so you’d hardly want them looking after your elderly mum would you?

Tricket · 26/02/2026 20:25

We don't have to house them at all. The US just expedites their removal.

Many?

One is too many.

Look up Rhiannon Skye White who worked in the hotel.
Tell us that's Ok and tell her family.

We have enough problems of our own, with people who were born here. We don't want third world unchecked creatures invading the country and then repaying people who are trying to help them like that.
Sincerely hope that the family can make some sort of claim against the government.

I’ve already said what can be done, France strengthening borders, changes in law allowing them to be returned etc. Good point about the overstayers. So much could be done.

Don’t think you are going to get many surgeons and other highly qualified people turning up on a boat!

How do you know?

I don't mind repeating myself until you come up with facts rather than baseless opinions.

Yes we do. We live in a civilised country. I do not want the UK to become Trump's USA, shudder the thought. You want UK civilians to be shot in the street by overzealous untrained thugs with guns? I fucking don't.

That old thing! A lot who come here don’t speak any English, hence the need for interpreters, which U.K. spends millions on.

Spot on.
Lefties and supporters say it's not many of them commit crime
We don't want any of them too. We don't want them here
The ones that do won't come forward and offer them a home.

Definitely not, all a nonsense

we should be concentrating on the youth who live here and ensuring affordable housing and job opportunities not importing loads of immigrants who often don’t share our values

Eyesopenwideawake · 26/02/2026 20:36

I wonder if all of those people who say "we don't know anything about 'these people'" know anything about the people who live next door, or in the next street/village/town/city. Of course they don't, yet they don't fear and despise the unknown family three roads away, do they?
