To hate "outdoor clothes" in the bed?

Bit of a silly one really but please help settle a domestic disagreement 😅

Am I being unreasonable to not want my partner wearing the clothes he's worn out and about all day, in or even laying on the bed? He showered in the morning, went to work, hasn't changed his clothes since coming home and lay in the bed. He thinks I'm being dramatic / naggy to want him to change his clothes.

We only changed the bedding last night and I never wear the clothes I've worn out in the bed, he doesn't really see the issue.

Agree with you @Clover96

Clothes which have been worn at work, in the car, on the tube, on the bus, at the shops....should not be worn on or (god forbid) in the bed

YANBU at all OP. I don’t like on the bed but it wouldn’t be a hill I’d die on. In the bed is just plain nasty.

Remember the bed bug epidemic in France a couple of summers ago. I bet most people there are more careful now. Shudders.

I couldn’t care less providing he wasn’t a miner, plasterer or a bricklayer.

Clover96 · 21/02/2026 18:23

@MTOandMe yeah that's hus mindset too, if it isn't physical / obvious dirt he isn't bothered by it.

I suppose If your dog or cat lies on the bed it doesn't make much difference what you wear, it will be grubby

Why does he get IN the bed with clothes on? Does he not find it uncomfortable or is he just exhausted?
