…to suggest that it’s time the Royal family stands on its own feet and stops taking money from the public purse?

The Royal family owns and has access to lots of money, land and property. So is it right that they should to take any more money away from us?

The nhs funded homeopathy since 1948 ie since its inception
As an alternative medicine that very little was known about
Not because of Charles
because
1948 was the year of Charles’s birth !

The nhs stopped around 2017/18 after it was found to be ineffective

So they didn’t start funding it because of Charles and stopped irrespective of his support of it.

the NHS did indeed fund homeopathy but when evidence based guidelines and NICE suggested that it was not value for money, Charles lobbied for its continued use.

One trivial thing that really pisses me off is the cost of changing notes and coins to the King's image/head. It's the little things. And that dirge of a depressing sycophantic anthem needs to go too.

Off to take my calming meds now if anyone is interested.

...and let's be realistic, Charles is no spring chicken so it won't be long before we have this expense again. Along with the costs of a state funeral and Coronation. May I have some of your calming meds please 🙏

I seriously doubt the number of tourist will be remotely affected because Kate has decided to jump in her luxury car to spend 15mn in a local school and pose for the photos, close enough so she doesn't miss her morning yoga and her afternoon photography lesson or whatever she's doing entertain herself.

Unless it's a sports event she follows anyway, she really doesn't like to waste too much time on public even, and neither does Will.

This.

I know someone who is involved in organising royal visits like that and they say the younger generation especially W&K are very disrespectful of other people's time - they expect things to be arranged or rearranged last minute, cancel at the drop of a hat, and turn up late, with little thought for the people who might be disappointed if their event gets missed out because they run out of time.

Yep
The national anthem discount an embarrassment, its supposed to be crowd rousing and make people feel proud of their country
Instead it makes us all look feeble sycophantically ,bowing down to thst bunch of parasites .

Well any of us could do the ‘job’ they do if we were paid as much! (expect many folk would be able to do a better 1 tbh)

laurini · 22/02/2026 12:30

Disagree. You might as well abolish them if you make them fund their own housing and lifestyle because they would just become normal people. Abolishment is a valid argument but different to what youre asking here.

Disgraceful, the plebeians should be grateful to qualify for the privilege of manipulating the royal member. The vulgarness of actually charging for access to royalty, it should be a privilege. God bless the Royal family. A few heads of traitors who criticise the royals outside the Tower should put a stop to this nonsense. It is the flavour of the month. The Daily Mail should be ashamed of itself and keep their criticism to Megan Markle.

whereisitnow · 23/02/2026 21:03

Aside from where our money goes, it was easy for him to hide it, and that’s just as bad.

If they stopped charging rent on lifeboat stations it would be a start 😡

Looking forward to hearing royalist justifications for the taxpayer paying for prince Andrew to be wanked off

Well because the poor love worked so hard...of course he needed to regularly be wanked off, at the tax payers expense. He deserved it. As they all do.
