Despite his villainous behaviour, anyone feel a teeny bit sorry for Andrew?

Before I get totally flamed, I despise his attitude, and the things he appears to have done - particularly the subsequent lying and apparent determination to shield/ hide misdemeanours. However, seeing the photo of his release today looking a broken man after such huge public downfall , plus thinking of him going back to an empty house on his birthday with no family support - even though I initially felt he deserves every indignity and consequence - there’s still a teeny part of me that just can’t help feeling just a little bit sorry for him. If it’s true that he was taken to a brothel at age 11 , whilst it would in no way excuse abusing others , it means he has also been a victim of abuse. Additionally it seems the Queen and his entourage have never ever said no to him in his whole life- so to reach his 7th decade before any consequences hit makes me question how resilient he will be able to be. Obviously main sympathies are always rightly with any victims , but even the most hardened and perpetual criminals often retain family support, he seems to have nobody. ( albeit if his own making ) or am I just being too soft?!

I’m just furious that the major players in all of this are getting with (possibly) murder, and definitely with serious sexual assaults, because the judiciary in the USA are totally nobbled by their political administration. Yes Andrew should be called to account - but what about all of the rest of them!!!

Well hopefully Andrew will squeal like a tiny little pig.

Nope. And I’d seriously question anyone who would. He preyed on the most vulnerable, abused and raped them. Think of him actually doing that. Really think how scared those girls were, how much physical and mental pain they will have been in. Think about how happy he was to rape and abuse his position to do it. How happy he was to mix with sex traffickers and other powerful people who exploited vulnerable girls and women.

If I felt sorry for someone like that, I would seek therapy for myself.

How do you know he raped them? He’s never been found guilty of anything

I feel sorry for his victims including his own daughters and grandchildren. We’ll never ever know the whole truth but I do feel Charles should also now step down and allow the new generation to heal their reputation. I genuinely believe Harry has dodged a massive bullet.

Why should Charles step down because of his brother's crimes?

Victims of sex trafficking can't consent, so yes it would have constituted rape. He hasn't been found guilty… yet.

I wonder if he felt a tiny bit sorry for VG or any of the other trafficked or coerced women he assaulted...?

I doubt he even saw them as human

Agree 👍 AMW is getting what he deserves but how about the other players?!🤔

He is never going to be charged with any kind of sex crime. There would be absolutely no case or prospect of conviction.

I can feel some level of sympathy for most human weaknesses, but when someone goes out of their way to hurt others, sympathy goes out the door. No, I don't feel sorry for him, and I doubt he'll be dealt with as harshly as he deserves, like so many criminals these days.

No. Sadly the victims didn’t get either the privilege or the sympathy. Anyway it’s not just Andrew and we only know the tip of the iceberg. For the children that were abused and tortured may the entire lot of them rot in hell for eternity. But here we are. A post feeling sorry for him. Spoiler, he will get off or disappear by ‘suicide’. No need to worry about him, I can guarantee he will be A OK no matter where he ends up with a full staff. This is probably a humiliation ritual which he will be paid handsomely for as the fall guy. We all know he would do anything for cash.

FloofyKat · 19/02/2026 22:57

No sympathy. He is spoilt, indulged, rude, arrogant and very entitled. Thought he was untouchable. I’ve seen no evidence of care, compassion or empathy.

Scout2016 · 19/02/2026 22:57

He's being done on dodgy dealing, not for sex offences. What does that tell us about police priorities? Years of sexual abuse allegations and nothing. Something involving money and in they go.

I feel for the victims, their families and for Andrew's daughters and grandchildren. I am utterly disgusted by all the men who have said nothing. The men who could come forward to say what they saw and heard and help with prosecutions. There will be hundreds if not thousands. Not one has stepped out. There must have been at least one bloke who could claim they were just a fly on the wall, who did nothing but witnessed something. Where are they? They could do that to help the victims but won't. Utterly cretinous scumbags, Andrew included.

Blackberrys1 · 19/02/2026 22:58

His poor victims. I have daughters.
Its heartbreaking.
They were only babies and used by vile scum.
The Queen paid 12 million to cover up his actions abusing a child.
So disappointed in her, foolishly disappointed.
They all knew well what he was up to.
Utterly shameful.

It's not really the fact that she was 17 - it's that she was forced into it. Trafficked.

Neither of those things actually mean he’s a paedophile, though, which is a person sexually attracted to prepubescent children. He certainly may be guilty of rape.

Sunbeam01 · 19/02/2026 22:58

WTF is this post!!!????

Sorry for Andrew?????????

Bloodyscarymary · 19/02/2026 22:59

I do feel a bit sorry for him too. He just seems to be the fall guy and I find it hard to get worked up about his crimes against what else is going on in the world. He’s already not a prince anymore, I just feel like meh, surely there are better uses of police time than this?

I also find it annoying that we are focusing SO MUCH on this dodgy old dude when there are much much MUCH more important things to be focusing on!

E.g., the rampant corruption in the US, the fact that people are still trapped in apartments with flammable cladding, how do we save democracy, the fact that we are experiencing a mass extinction of various species, ecosystem collapse… or even good news stories about interesting scientific advancements - nope it’s just wall to wall Andrew.

Emma6cat · 19/02/2026 22:59

I bet he wishes he could turn back the clock.

Lavender14 · 19/02/2026 22:59

Not even a little op.

You think he thought she was willingly there to shag him because he was so irresistible?

I would 100% believe he could have thought that, yes. He’s always seemed to have a very healthy ego, and has spent all his life being told how special and wonderful he is.

lazyarse123 · 19/02/2026 23:00

No and I saw on one of the news channels someone saying we need to be careful of his mental health. No we fucking don't he has never considered anyone else in his entire life.
Wouldn't bother me if he decided to not carry on.

do you consider the same logic to the general public ?

Gowlett · 19/02/2026 23:02

First thing my mum said was she feels sorry for him.
But she often downplays bad men doing bad things.

well look at all the support there was for George Floyd, and yet his criminal activities etc

TempestTost · 19/02/2026 23:03

I find it possible to feel simultaneously like someone has got what they deserved, or reaped the consequences of their own behaviour, and a sort of sadness at the same time - the latter is a sort of existential human sadness about the fact that things can go so wrong in people's lives.

I suspect he was the kind of kid who had a very appealing and charming personality, and was therefore allowed to get away with a lot, and it hasn't in the end been good for him.
