Just seen AMW has been released under investigation. This is all going to come to nothing. It'll be a whitewash. How depressing.

Its perfectly normal for suspects to be bailed or released whilst investigations are ongoing.

SomedayIllBeSaturdayNight · 19/02/2026 19:55

Because the let him go? You know that is normal police procedure and tells you nothing right?

Exactly. They can only keep him in custody for a limited period before charging him anyway. I don't see why his release should mean a whitewash.

Createausername1970 · 19/02/2026 20:00

They arrested him and questioned him. People are often released at this point. I expect they are compiling evidence. These things take time, and need to otherwise people get off on a technicality.

Whether he ever sees the inside of a prison cell, only time will tell.

But he certainly isn't getting away with anything. He is sunk, personally and professionally and is a laughing stock all over the internet and social media.

If he takes another way out, I wouldn't be surprised.

He has already had his title removed, been ostracised from royal life and had it played out to the whole world. I very much doubt if he will get away with it. What about all the other men involved, are you rooting for their punishments as well? Andrew seems to be the main focus and everyone else is hiding behind the media frenzy.

EdwinStarrTheBackStreetsNSoul · 19/02/2026 20:01

The photo of him on BBC news as being just released.
He looks haunted/shell shocked I think he knows he's fucked and the games up.

whatdoidonowffs · 19/02/2026 20:01

If he gets prosecuted it won’t be enough for some and if he doesn’t due to lack of evidence people will say it’s a cover up

You're correct Epstein had many visitors way more powerful than Andy boy.
They all need taken down.

Why are the hundreds of other men involved in this still anonymous?
Why is the only person in prison a woman?
Why are the press obsessed with hounding Andrew into the grave? Hes lost everything already his life is about the only thing left

Echobelly · 19/02/2026 20:03

I think the Royals may have been relieved when the trade envoy stuff came to light. It means he can be charged with a crime, probably serve a light sentence in a low security setting and they can say he's had his punishment and sweep the sexual stuff under the carpet.

daisychain01 · 19/02/2026 20:09

He is being questioned specifically about sharing confidential information while he was in his role as special envoy, not all the other allegations re Epstein, it's very specific. They have 24 hours to do any questioning then they must apply for an extension or release him.

presumably you do want the justice system to adhere to what they are bound to doing? Otherwise what you're saying is they can pick and choose how they follow the law, which is a scary prospect.

I hope they’re all punished. Andrew being arrested is a step towards that. You think Andrew should be let off because there isn’t as much focus on the others?

Well seeing as he was going to get away with absolutely everything including giving away confidential information, and just lose his titles, I'd say it's better than nothing. They're hardly going to throw him in prison the way they did with Maxwell.

TigTails · 19/02/2026 20:20

I think he’ll kill himself

Harrietsaunt · 19/02/2026 20:24

I don’t think he will kill himself.

He could have useful information for bringing some of the other bastards to trial. I hope he gets recalled to give more evidence.

HolidayHideaway · 19/02/2026 20:24

He looks absolutely shellshocked in the Mail.

choccytime · 19/02/2026 20:28

What's going on with his daughters , will they want their children around him

Yes, him and all the others. If you nab one big fish, we can be hopeful they will catch up with the others.

I'm hoping Mandelson will be up soon, and he'll open that very detailed diary that will hopefully bring down some others too.

Not all of them will come to justice, but you can usually rely on the rats to drag a few others into hell as well.

This sounds like you’re saying he’s getting a hard time and he’s suffered enough. Are you? Or have I picked that up wrongly?

One of his victims took her own life and many others are living half lives, so Andrew still has plenty to lose.
He'll be alright, and if he isn't 🤷🏾‍♀️.

He still has his freedom. He still lives a life more comfortable materially than many.
He still has those things left to lose, and if he is guilty of these crimes he should lose them.

Quite honestly if he’s done the crime, but can’t do the time and either takes his own life or dies, then 🤷‍♀️.

Do we keep criminals out of prison in case it causes them harm? Or do we give out the punishments for the crimes committed?

Do you think when Andrew was interviewed he just said ‘ No comment’, or do you think he spilt the beans? Will we ever know?

BeeCucumber · 19/02/2026 20:48

Persons are arrested, interviewed and released on bail when there is not enough evidence to charge them. Arresting a person on their birthday is just a deliberate ploy to upset them.
