Just seen AMW has been released under investigation. This is all going to come to nothing. It'll be a whitewash. How depressing.

I hope they’re all punished. Andrew being arrested is a step towards that. You think Andrew should be let off because there isn’t as much focus on the others?

I do not think he should get off with what he has done. Now he has hit rock bottom he may as well give the names of everyone else and tell the authorities everything he knows. Will Fergie be held to account in any way?

LunaDeBallona · 19/02/2026 20:49

I think potentially the reason why the police are going after him for blabbing government information /potentially breaking official secrets act is that IF they go after him for anything to do with trafficked girls/Virginia Roberts then it would be extremely difficult to prosecute as he could never ever have a fair trial due to years of stuff being put in the papers.
A judge can’t say ‘You have to come in here utterly unbiased and forget everything you have heard or read about this case for the last 15 years as nobody in the Uk would qualify!
Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if he falls on his sword,

Hopefully she is also held to account.

abitsadbuthappy · 19/02/2026 20:50

All the men involved with probably get away with everything. Its sickening and I feel honestly done with men these days.

Lifeomars · 19/02/2026 20:51

Figgygal · 19/02/2026 20:03

Why are the hundreds of other men involved in this still anonymous?
Why is the only person in prison a woman?
Why are the press obsessed with hounding Andrew into the grave? Hes lost everything already his life is about the only thing left

This investigation is solely because there is evidence to suggest that Andrew passed confidential state information to Ep stien while he was Trade Envoy . If proved it means that he has committed a very serious offence. He has not been arrested in connection with any of the sexual allegations. What he is alleged to have done is very serious and a huge abuse of trust so he should be questioned and so should Mandelson. I am sure that the latter's arrest will not be long in coming. Moral of the story? When you already have levels of wealth and privilege that most can only dream of don't be an arrogant, greedy and entitiled prick

Glaspeated · 19/02/2026 20:54

Call me old fashioned but I like to wait and see if something actually happens (or otherwise) before I start moaning about it.

It’s completely normal for someone under investigation to be released pending further investigation. What we’re you expecting? A full trial this afternoon?

Dweetfidilove · 19/02/2026 20:54

Vivienne1000 · 19/02/2026 20:46

Do you think when Andrew was interviewed he just said ‘ No comment’, or do you think he spilt the beans? Will we ever know?

I believe today was a 'no comment' day.
Hopefully, the investigation continues and they'll start singing.

By who? And for what?
I don’t suppose she knew anything ‘state secret’ related, she didn’t represent the government/people - she took money off a convicted peado - do we investigate/charge Rolf Harris daughter too because she inherited her fathers millions so lives off the money of a convicted peado?
I can’t bear AMW, I cannot abide SF but while she is morally and financially repugnant and corrupt -has she broken the law?

I don’t know. The post should have read ‘if she’s guilty of any crimes then hopefully she is also held to account’. I thought that went without saying really.

LlynTegid · 19/02/2026 20:57

It will be a while before any court case comes about if Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is charged. Perhaps a couple of years, given court delays.

roses2 · 19/02/2026 20:58

BeeCucumber · 19/02/2026 20:48

Persons are arrested, interviewed and released on bail when there is not enough evidence to charge them. Arresting a person on their birthday is just a deliberate ploy to upset them.

Who do you think he was planning to have dinner with tonight? 😂

SPQRomanus · 19/02/2026 21:00

Even if they find sufficient evidence to charge him, which I think unlikely, he's never going to see the inside of a prison cell.

He'll be made to plead guilty so no trial needed and because of previous good behaviour, not a public danger etc, he'll get a suspended sentence.

He won't kill himself. I doubt he feels guilty enough to. I imagine he still doesn't actually think he's done anything wrong. Remember this is a man with astonishing levels of arrogance and self-belief.

Pedallleur · 19/02/2026 21:00

Createausername1970 · 19/02/2026 20:00

They arrested him and questioned him. People are often released at this point. I expect they are compiling evidence. These things take time, and need to otherwise people get off on a technicality.

Whether he ever sees the inside of a prison cell, only time will tell.

But he certainly isn't getting away with anything. He is sunk, personally and professionally and is a laughing stock all over the internet and social media.

If he takes another way out, I wouldn't be surprised.

He won't be taking the honourable way out. Nice house somewhere warm where a gentleman and his misdeeds can be forgotten.

roses2 · 19/02/2026 20:58

He’ll be singing “it’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to” on the karaoke for sure!

I hope he’s alone and 💩 💩 himself!

MauriceTheMussel · 19/02/2026 21:02

Nah. He’ll get a slap on the wrists for this, but we’re all still supposed to be sated by that…so they can avoid doing him for sex crimes

Miranda65 · 19/02/2026 21:02
  1. We have no idea what actual crimes may have been committed
  2. We have no idea what evidence is available
  3. These kind of complex investigations can take years
  4. Release of suspects is completely normal
  5. There are a terrifying number of people on this website who don't understand how the law works, at even basic level.
TheCurious0range · 19/02/2026 21:04

They will want to do digital forensics and even on urgent cases that takes time. Don't believe what you see on TV. RUI is completely normal with the newer bail restrictions

MrsLizzieDarcy · 19/02/2026 21:05

I feel that today was a token gesture of investigation so that the RF can say due process has been followed. He's going home tonight to a luxury home filled with priceless antiques, cupboards full of the best food/drink, staff to wait on him hand foot and finger and 24/7 security with drivers. I bet the oaf can't even boil a kettle let alone make a bed.

Punishment? Not in my world.

What's going on with his daughters , will they want their children around him

Why wouldn't they? There is no evidence connecting him to young children.

Who cares, his daughters have lived and will continue to live off the taxpayers.
Very privileged lives, not too worried about Beatrice or Eugenie. Oh to be a Princess..

pteromum · 19/02/2026 21:08

I would say a no comment interview, I suspect he won’t be here much longer, which will lead to a full review of why he was released, why he won’t face justice. More money after bad. So depressing.

BlimeyOReillyO · 19/02/2026 21:08

Miranda65 · 19/02/2026 21:05

No but many people have morals that don’t align with their father paying off women he’s trafficked. They very often go NC, because they’re repulsed by them. This often happens once women have their own children.

The photo of him on BBC news as being just released.
He looks haunted/shell shocked I think he knows he's fucked and the games up.

Just seen that photo…

Wow! That’s going to haunt him for a long time!

Whoever took that is going to make a fortune as it’s the photo that everyone
is going to use in print and on news articles.

He's pretty much finished and that picture really sums it up.

I don’t know. The post should have read ‘if she’s guilty of any crimes then hopefully she is also held to account’. I thought that went without saying really.

Surely that applies to every person in the uk?
So you think she should be held to account but you don5 know what she should be held to account for?
Ok….
