I think we’re at 42 now. It hasn’t missed a day since the first week of January. I feel like I’m stuck in the set of Wuthering Heights despite living in the West Country. I have 2 small kids and a lively dog.

This is DIRE!!!!!!!!

I think it’s n+1.

the80sweregreat · 18/02/2026 17:03

It didn’t rain in my part of Essex yesterday, it was a bit of a novelty tbh. (Rather rain than heatwaves though, but I can see why people don’t like it. )

Greenbeanmcgee · 18/02/2026 17:10

It hasn’t been that bad here in my part of Scotland. We’ve had rain(Less than normal last month) but quite a number of dry days too.

Teenagerantruns · 18/02/2026 17:14

Im in the south West , the local news last week said its days its rained everyday since boxing day? I think.
Im so fed up, for once in my life im not working due to caring responsibilities and we cant even go for a walk so bored of being stuck at home with someone recovering from surgery.

SusanChurchouse · 18/02/2026 17:14

It has been dry all week here. I didn’t perceive Jan/Feb to be any wetter than normal for this time of year so find all the media about it a bit bemusing. I do live in a normally wet part of the UK though.

SemmaLina · 18/02/2026 17:14

First day on no rain in 2026 yesterday
Back to normal today though

Megsdaughter · 18/02/2026 17:16

On Salisbury Plain, its rained everyday since beginning of the year.

doobaz · 18/02/2026 17:16

Yep first day for a long time, yesterday that it didn't rain

saltandvinegarpringles · 18/02/2026 17:17

Day three of no rain here! :)

HelpMeGetThrough · 18/02/2026 17:22

In 2026 it has rained every day , so we are on day 49 (I think that’s right).

Tattletail · 18/02/2026 17:24

40 days and 40 nights, the animals are starting to pair up.

It didn't actually rain today, and with a few daffodils around it gave the slightest glimmer of hope for spring 🫣

sittingonabeach · 18/02/2026 17:26

Every day this year

On Salisbury Plain, its rained everyday since beginning of the year.

That’s like a Tom Waits lyric. Or The Smiths.

Babsandherwabs · 18/02/2026 17:27

One. It’s alternated beautiful fresh sunny with grey rainy all week.

Yeah this. It’s fucking endless and I’ve had to buy an ugly raincoat. 😡

Dontcallmescarface · 18/02/2026 17:30

It's been 6 long weeks. We did have a sunny day on Saturday but by 7pm it was raining again. I'm in N.Somerset.

This!

HighJapes · 18/02/2026 17:34

South west too and yes I think it’s rained most (if not all) days since beginning of Jan.

I’ve just checked the forecast and apparently very high chance of rain for the next 10 days

It’s extremely depressing. I love (non rainy) spring days and live for the summer.

user2848502016 · 18/02/2026 17:52

I live in North Wales and it hasn’t seemed much different to a normal winter here, it’s actually been quite nice this week

MrsMoastyToasty · 18/02/2026 18:17

In the South West too. Its been eleventy billion days of rain. Apparently the Chew Valley reservoir is full .

Summer will take place between midday and 4pm on 17th July (provisional date).

MayPeasBeWithYou · 18/02/2026 18:20

Also south West. I read somewhere the other day that we've already had 56% of the years rainfall by mid feb. Im sick of having coats hanging everywhere drying, washing dog towels and drying shoes on radiators. Very grateful that we're never at risk of flooding though where we are

RafaistheKingofClay · 18/02/2026 18:27

6th January was the last day without rain in this part of the SW. And that was because it snowed slightly. Either 1st or 2nd of Jan was the only day with no precipitation at all.

For a normally wet part of the country we had 200%+ of our average January rainfall this year.

It feels like day 876448846
