Get the bottom sheets on beds completely taught?

OP posts:
JulieJo · 16/02/2026 21:49

Provide enough hooks in bathrooms. There are never enough to hang dry towels, wet clothes, pyjamas and clean clothes.

grannysbay · 16/02/2026 21:52

Provide twin beds in accessible rooms. No idea why they think you want to share a bed with your carer

TartanMammy · 16/02/2026 21:54

Put a plug socket near the mirror and next to the bed.

BlockCable · 16/02/2026 22:33

Have a simple way to switch off lights.

Blueuggboots · 16/02/2026 22:36

Provide proper decaf coffee instead of shitty pouches of instant crap.

BlockCable · 16/02/2026 22:41

Have a room temperature in between freezing and boiling.

tilypu · 16/02/2026 22:43

I have to admit, I struggle to teach my bottom sheets anything.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 16/02/2026 22:45

Just leave the duvet on top of the bed instead of tucking it under the mattress meaning the sheet comes untucked too when you remove it. And the sheet is always a flat sheet that's bit too small to tuck under properly.

Astra53 · 16/02/2026 23:07

Provide anything to dry a damp towel on. Have plugs in useful places eg. near the mirror. I have taken to packing an extension lead!

MrsBeltane · 16/02/2026 23:23

Provide a decent sized cup/mug for tea and coffee. Fed up with the tiny 3 gulp tea cups. Keep forgetting to bring my own mug!

I found the opposite to be true! I requested an accessible room for my partner and I,asking for a double bed. Was told that they only had 2 single beds in accessible rooms. But you can push them together they said. Have you ever tried that? But what really annoyed me was that instead of having nice cotton sheets on the beds, they had those awful scratchy ones. Not sure what they were made of,I swear they were nylon!

Drives me mad too

Cyclistmumgrandma · 16/02/2026 23:32

Provide a duvet that is the right thickness for the room temperature. Duvets always seem to be ridiculously hot.

Tamtim · 16/02/2026 23:34

Hav we enough bright light to do your make up.

deeahgwitch · 16/02/2026 23:57

Remove large superfluous chairs.

whatwouldlilacerullodo · 17/02/2026 00:05

Attaching twin beds so you don't have to have sex on one single bed like a teenager (or have them open up in the middle of it!). It can't be too complicated to have a connector or something to fix the feet together.

candyfloss06 · 17/02/2026 04:40

Have aircon that switches on or off instantly at the push of a button. I seem to book hotels where turning it off turns into a big palaver and I like a quiet room to sleep.

benten54 · 17/02/2026 05:18

Provide a dark room. As soon as you turn the light off it becomes Blackpool Illuminations. Red light on the Tv, blue light on the aircon, random flashing lights on the ceiling in an array of colours, bedside alarm clocks all shooting piercing lights of a million lumens into your eyeballs.

PollyBell · 17/02/2026 06:15

Decent sized mugs and wine glasses

SeaToSki · 17/02/2026 06:32

Have any kind of sound insulation between rooms or the room and the hall

Have a hall floor that doesnt magnify the sounds of either someone just walking down and/or pulling a suitcase

Have doors that dont slam in a super noisy way

a bit of a theme here!!

SisterTeatime · 17/02/2026 06:37

*taut

Not put cushions that have been on the floor, chairs etc on the bed where my head will be.

BlackRoseBlue · 17/02/2026 07:05

Provide enough coat hangers without trouser clips.

Have a magnifying mirror in the bathroom.

Put makeup flannels in rooms by default.

Keep the hairdryer anywhere obvious (and while on that subject provide hairdryer with any kind of useful power).

Label the damn master switch for the lights (and have it turn all the lights off, not all the lights plus some random under lighting somewhere).

Have enough bright lighting so I can see and work if needed

Realise a glass top on a desk you advertise as a workspace stops a mouse working

let you move the phone that takes up half the tiny bedside table

and a late addition from last week’s business trip - reset the tv alarm when the previous guest checks out. I never use the tv in hotels and didn’t need a 4am wake up (presume someone had a flight to catch)

Sooo true! I am an epileptic and have to sleep with an eye mask in some hotels, always a flashing smoke alarm.

Also have proper doors for the bathrooms (not those weird semi glass sliding doors). I don't want to hear my partner having a shit.

DeftGoldHedgehog · 17/02/2026 07:12

Cook tomatoes or black pudding properly. Correctly set up a self-service toaster so that the bread only needs to go through once, instead of one pass = anaemic, two = burnt. Serve nice coffee at breakfast. I can make a very good flat white at home. Do better.
