To think FridaBaby are seriously weird for their packaging choices?

I couldn’t see a thread on this so apologies if one already exists!

Has anyone seen the controversy surround FridaBaby and their choice of packaging?

Full of sexual innuendos? For baby items like thermometer, snot sucker bulb thing and some more items they make?

https://www.syracuse.com/living/2026/02/fridababy-under-fire-for-disgusting-sexual-jokes-on-packaging-parents-call-for-boycott.html?outputType=amp

one such quote is on a baby thermometer pictured next to a baby’s bare bottom with the words “this is the closest your husbands getting to a threesome”

This isn’t the first time they’ve done some weird shit either, in 2020 they did a SM post photo of a baby with visible nasal discharge on its face. The caption read: “What happens when you pull out too early #nosefrida #dontmove.”

FridaBaby under fire for ‘disgusting’ sexual jokes on packaging, parents call for boycott

The brand drew widespread criticism this week after a viral post highlighted some of the brand's bold marketing choices.

I saw some of them yesterday, absolutely disgusting. I can't believe they thought it was a good idea

This is what I don’t get, they would have had to be passed by a team of people, who on earth thinks they’re appropriate?!

I am not a “pearl clutcher” and wouldn’t care if they were on adult items, but they’re not, it’s gross.

So offensive

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 14/02/2026 19:32

It just off the chart inappropriate.

marcyhermit · 14/02/2026 19:33

Is this the company that makes a tube for sticking in a baby's anus? I think it's supposed to make them fart?

Yep that’s the one

To be fair the “threesome” line was in relation to the product being a 3-in-1 product surely? Or am I being naïve?

There's an absolutely disgusting advert they have for a different product and all of their other adverts also seem sexualised/innuendo based so I'm assuming this one is supposed to be taken the same way.

You’re being naive IMHO. Do you think of 3 in 1 thermometers when you hear the word threesome?

Absolutely grim. Disgusting that they are trying to sexualise this stuff. We live in a a world where child abuse is rife and this is just repulsive.

WinterWalrus · 14/02/2026 21:48

The one with the ‘snot’ on the baby’s face was the worse one. Absolutely disgusting. They all need their hard drives checking.

There are no words to describe that 'advert', it's actually shocked me that it was allowed.

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 14/02/2026 22:01

Its all absolutely disgusting, how did it pass thru levels of design and marketing to be produced - it shows how far some companies now are from public opinion

HoskinsChoice · 14/02/2026 23:25

They are getting some tremendous marketing here. Every day a new thread about them. Its almost as if their marketing department are posting thread after thread about it...

I don't think it's a great marketing strategy, no one seems to think their adverts or branding are good and lots of people have said they'd never use them. It would be a better marketing strategy if it's a competitor starting the threads and then they post about their own products as recommendations for alternatives.

Jambags · 15/02/2026 01:22

If the concept of the gas passer isn't horrific enough, this really is the nail in the coffin. I'm sure desperate times can call for desperate measures but I could not even fathom that solution...
There are a million ways to have fun with marketing and making it relatable to parents - this is just straight up unintelligent but grossly inapropriate to boot.

Well I had no idea who or what Friababy was but I now know due to the threads on here.

But this really does feel like a Gerald Ratner moment (Google it if you're too young to remember) and perhaps it should be because the line has been way overstepped.

They're probably also breaking the ASA code (if this applies to packaging and social media) which says that advertising needs to be 'legal decent honest and truthful' which clearly it fails at least one of those criteria.

That’s odd, I searched FridaBaby and no threads came up! Saying that AIBU moves fast

LOL not really. I searched for the word FridaBaby and all it gave back was name suggestion threads so I genuinely thought on hadn’t been started. Don’t spend a lot of time on here anymore so easy to miss.

also that would be really shitty marketing ploy as people are wanting to boycott them, not purchase from them.

Exactly! I have only ever heard of them because we get a new thread about them every day on here. Their packaging has put the brand in our minds, everyone's clicking on the links. All publicity is good publicity! It is a brave and dangerous path to follow (and sadly I am old enough to remember Ratners) but the difference here is that this is just about controversial packaging whereas Ratner slated his own products.

This is what I got when searched Frida so that’s why I didn’t think a thread had been done. 🙄

That would be a really shit idea for getting publicity, everybody is now saying they would NEVER buy from them ever. I think they are done.

This, it’s only a good marketing ploy if people buy…. Not “fucking hell that’s appalling, no way are they getting any of my money!”

RawBloomers · 15/02/2026 15:31

It's a bit of innuendo. I can see why it wouldn't appeal to a lot of people (so I think it's a bit of an odd choice for a brand unless it's a really niche one) but I don't really get the outrage.
