I have never heard this before . I assume that this is not accurate at all .( also assume applying to uk) .

I think all cultures (and all populations) naturally evolve and change over time. If you look at Britain through the ages, it has been a constant process of change over the generations, and our lives now are thankfully very different from the lives of most of our ancestors.

Our society will continue to evolve and change. I don't see that as an inherently bad thing. I think we can embrace the new while seeking to preserve the things that we value.

Agreed, but we live in an era where those who want to manipulate the people use cultural change as a threat. Look at Trump's recent rant about how if Canada went on with their bridge, they would end up owned by China, and China would ban ice hockey.

I'm not telling anyone who to marry. It's a personal choice.

But if anyone were to tell me that I was wrong to marry someone from a different culture because I should have married someone with the same skin colour in order to "preserve my culture", then I would laugh in their face and tell them to fuck off. Who I marry is my decision, and mine alone.

Minorities are not treated well in most countries. It’s the reason Jewish people created Israel.

I think it’s a very first world luxury belief that everyone is essentially the same underneath, that there are zero inherent differences between populations and only white people are racist etc

This island has always had a diversity of people from all over the world, even our language and ancient place names reflect that.

There's no one unchanged indigenous culture that's existed untouched for thousands of years.

You really aren’t that ethnically diverse, just more diverse than in the past. If you want to see what ethnic diversity gets you, look at subsaharan Africa. That diversity is a huge reason why many of their countries are incredibly unstable. Democracy becomes little more than an ethnic head count.

It’s becoming that way in America tbh. Nobody votes on ‘ideas’ it is just competing ethnic blocs trying to get goodies for their own group.

If that is what you read from the post you quoted then you too have a reading comprehension issue.

That's clearly not where she's going. She's obviously saying that the reason its undesirable to be a minority is because typically the majority treat minorities poorly. And that in a society where the majority treated the minority properly, there'd by no need to fear being a minority.

White people are treated worse than minorities in the UK now in 2026. DEI favours minorities, social housing favours minorities, employment law favours minorities and so on.

They will be outvoted and marginalized in this case, and it didn’t need to happen. Democracy in truly diverse countries tends towards ethnic head counts, not ideas. I doubt Britain will escape this impulse, because already it seems like this is the trend. Don’t see how Britain would be an outlier in this regard

I don’t think there’s a case where a majority treated a minority well, and then were fine after a big demographic change.

I think of Lebanese Christians, and their history as a refuge for other persecuted minorities, but it really did not go well for them.

Jewish leaders too understand that a large Arab minority threatens the existence of their country—it cannot be a Jewish state if not controlled by Jewish people. Their history is a stark reminder of that.

Seems like you should not experiment with it. I personally don’t think it will go well because the tendency is to vote for your own interests, which for diverse societies will tend towards group interests.

And when you are diverse, could you ever really agree on what the ‘common interest’ actually means?
