Lied to get a jab now friend is angry

I don’t understand why my friend is annoyed at me as it doesn’t effect anyone else.. part of me thinks it’s jealousy but she’s not speaking to me because I told her how I managed to lose 1.5stone.
backstory- I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted. Not exactly a difficult lie but it worked and I’ve had 2pens of mounjaro 2.5 and I’m now 8.5stone. I feel great, the size I want to be and no side effects so yes I feel smug that my lie worked and I lost the weight easy.
well my friend who has been trying to lose weight too but not via jabs is furious saying I should be ashamed of myself.
surely it doesn’t effect anyone else? I paid full price so can’t be blamed for stealing from the nhs

This thread has really brought horrible, judgmental and bitchy people. It's really sad tbh!

There are a constant stream of threads like this on these injections. It’s really brought out the worst in some people. Weight is such an emotional topic for many women, so seeing other women getting slim , In a way rhey perceive as effortless, can give those not on them a range of negative emotions. Jealousy. Envy. Resentment,

it’s not about the women using them, its not about the drugs, it’s about what it represents, others being effortlessly slim in their eyes. it’s about their own negative feelings about their own overweight bodies, or the struggles they go through to maintain a healthy weight,

it won’t stop till they are more widely within reach of everyone.

Brefugee · 14/02/2026 12:59

you sound very shallow and pleased that you are a liar.
meh

It's actually abit heartbreaking to read some of the abusive comments being made to the OP. It is sad that people are so cruel, nasty and judgemental! The OP has not hurt anyone so who gives a flying fuck if she's taking jabs- it literally has no impact on anyone else.
people are so Insecure and bitter and it is really sad to see

It’s the same on every thread like fhis, constant abuse. It’s really horrible I agree,

its always women on women, competing and attacking each other.

It’s the same on the food threads and being told you’re competitively under eating if you don’t have a big appetite.

Obesity costs the NHS millions. If you can avoid it then who cares how you do it?

Hereforthecommentz · 14/02/2026 00:11

The cure is what the other poster said eating less and exercising it's not rocket science. Pharma companies are making an absolute fortune out of this too. There are a lot of side effects stomach issues and more will come out over time no doubt. It's really bad for children to see this too and think it's normal to inject yourself to stay a normal weight. It's all rather grim.

If it was that easy no one would be overweight or obese.

please educate yourself around obesity.

Catpuss66 · 14/02/2026 13:19

So if the medication causes problems who do you expect to sort you out, the NHS?
it’s not the taking the medication it the lying to get it.

Really? The BBC and other outlets have reported a surge in gallbladder operations in the last year.

"The number of gallbladder surgeries recorded by NHS England in 2024-25 was at its highest peak in the past decade.

The president of the British Obesity and Metabolic Specialist Society, Ahmed Ahmed, said he was doing more of these operations with "more and more" people telling him they had taken weight loss injections.

Gallstones are listed as a common side effect of the jabs and the UK's official medical licensing body said they were kept under "continual review".

Could weight-loss jabs be behind rising gallbladder removals?

Gallstones is common after any weight loss.

being fat is also a risk factor.

lots of people have gallstones and no symptoms.

some do and get it taken out as I have. No issues whatsoever. It’s pure scaremongering.

yes, there’s risks. As there is with absolutely everything we do.

TigTails · 14/02/2026 10:48

If there was ever someone who deserved to gain the weight back and then some…

Cheats like you make it harder for people who actually need this medication to access it.

lol why so annoyed?

are you obese or overweight and struggling to access MJ?

Oh please the NHS looks after EVERYONE. Like it or lump it. We treat self inflicted injuries and illness all the time.

and OP said she had private healthcare anyway.

But the OP wasn’t obese, or even in the overweight category. She was a healthy weight and had to pick up a dog to get the scales so show higher.

Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala · 14/02/2026 13:52

We don’t know if she was a healthy weight as we don’t know how tall she is. I’m 5ft 2 and would not be happy weighing 10 stone.

Anyway it’s irrelevant as she paid for it, whether she needed it or not.

Polaw · 14/02/2026 14:05

Cantkeepaname · 13/02/2026 21:03

I’m internally smug- from the outside I have kept it quiet. She only found out cos she was looking in my fridge. The reaction I got I thought she had found crack in there

Hahahahahahahaha. No you haven't!

EatMoreChocolate44 · 14/02/2026 14:14

whatifs1 · 14/02/2026 00:02

so dramatic. 😂

people just don’t seem to like the fact there is a potential cure for obesity. It baffles me as to why.

Prescribed weight loss drugs for obesity is amazing, lying about your weight to access weight loss drugs for vanity reasons risking a catalogue of potential side effects is not amazing. Not great for body positivity either when normal, healthy people are starving themselves on the jabs to be 'skinny'. That was not it's intended purpose and people are abusing it's use.

abuse is never good but OP wrote this

I lied to get an online prescription by saying I was about 1.5stone heavier than I was then when I needed to send photos I just made my scales say more to match the weight I submitted.

she lied. That is shit. She also lied (by omission) to her friend. that is shit

Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala · 14/02/2026 14:33

But why is it shit she ‘lied’ to her friend. What exactly did she lie about? She didn’t have to discuss her weight loss with her friend at all.

InfoSecInTheCity · 14/02/2026 14:34

My only concern about people who are not eligible lying to get it is if they have adverse reactions or bad side effects that then affect other people being prescribed them legitimately.

Supplies are good so not worried about shortages, spend your money how you like, if you want to accept unnecessary long term/adverse risks that’s your business.

Ive been on Mounjaro for T2 diabetes since Sept 2024, it’s solved my unstable blood sugar levels, my BP is normal, my cholesterol is down, I’ve lost 9 stone and am a healthy BMI for the first time since primary school. The stuff is great, but it is a risk to take. A risk that for me was outweighed by the risks of all my obesity related health problems, I was heading to an early grave. People who are not obese and do not have health problems are just taking the risk with no counter balance.

ShawnaMacallister · 14/02/2026 14:36

This. It's none of her friend's business. It's not lying to withhold information that the other person has no reason to know.

Cantkeepaname · 14/02/2026 14:39

For the few thinking I’m lying..about my lie.
its very easy to cheat the scales- I was holding my dog and took a photo of my feet and the scales.
you also submit a photo- wear underwear too small, breathe out, slouch, camera at a bad angle and you look a lot bigger.
It obviously worked as it got approved by a pharmacist- it’s really not difficult.

My friend got gallstones

about 15 years ago while on slim fast

aparently the gall bladder issue is to do with the speed of weightloss and not due to the method used

She’s very clear she lied to get the drugs. She didn’t lie to her friend, even by omission, as her friend is not entitled to know that detail, any more than she’s entitled to know how often she masturbates, it’s none of her friends business.

SlinkyMal · 14/02/2026 14:59

You can easily make yourself seem heavier by
just grabbing the sink or something and pressing yourself down.

Amazed that anyone thinks not telling your friend all your medical details is lying by omission. Do you send out a group email every time you get a cold or a verruca? Wouldn’t want to lie by omission, eh?

OP, people are weird about WLI and reveal how much weight is tied up with other things for some people- you must atone for the sin of being overweight (although you weren’t) through the mortification of the flesh 🙄Better just to keep things private and tell your friend not to nose through your fridge.

BigButtons · 14/02/2026 15:29

HeadLake · 14/02/2026 12:28

I have been thin all my life
and don’t look older than my friends, quite the opposite! (Am genetically slim, Asian). I am 55, hardly any grey hair and look young for my age, I’ll have you know! Don’t perpetuate stereotypes.

We are talking about older women who undergo drastic and fast weight loss, not people who are genetically slim. I am also very slim- if I were to deliberately lose weight the natural fat on my cheeks would go and I would not look good.

DotAndCarryOne2 · 14/02/2026 15:30

daisychain01 · 14/02/2026 11:26

I think that's the point, the OP didn't need to mention WLI to her friend, so why did she?

all it did was run the friend's nose in it about how they lost 1.5 st and how they got the WLI, when they could have saved the friendship and all that bad feeling by not boasting and causing needless bad feeling. There is far too much oversharing nowadays, people don't know when to keep their mouth shut.

the OP could have just enjoyed the feeling of not being overweight, instead of giving a blow by blow account about how she lied to get the jabs.

Have you read the updates ? She didn’t. Friend went in her fridge and found the Mounjaro.OP hadn’t mentioned it up to that point.

godmum56 · 14/02/2026 14:44

Yep. I lost 8 stones a few years ago - not WLI. It was over a 12 month period and because l’d been very overweight and lost much of it quite quickly l ended up with gallstones.
