It is a disgrace that the police have described this boy as female.

This is where this ideology leads to. The law in Canada forces the police to mis sex him.

Mentally ill boys and men who should be treated for mental health issues put on experimental drugs and told they are female.

If he had not shot himself he would be incarcerated in a women's prison.

Agree. And this is why boys/men insisting they are women should be carefully treated and counselled for their clear mental health issues.

We don't aid & abet anorexics in their delusion that they're overweight. Neither do we agree with Great Uncle Harold that he is Napolean.

Serious mental health and legal failings especially in regards to returning the confiscated firearms!

I absolutely agree with you that we should be questioning and considering all the evidence on gender affirming care, and it's a complex issue. My understanding is that the alleged shooter had not received any hormone treatment though.

Someone on X has found his Reddit posts and he reported being suicidal at 15 because he was still waiting for an appt to get on hormones. He was 18 when he murdered children, who knows if he’d accessed hormones over that 3 year period, but he wanted to.

Unsurprisingly, he was into anime as well

ETA : and yes, it’s the same person as identified formally

likelysuspect · 11/02/2026 20:24

I bet he was violent to his family too.

I bet he was violent to his family too.

There were “multiple mental health police interventions” apparently. There’s also a posting he made of himself at a shooting range on a Reddit sub for trans people with guns.

Well, yes. He shot them.

I meant over preceding years.

From BBC news

He says police had attended the residence on multiple occasions over the past several years, dealing with mental health concerns of the suspect.

The suspect was apprehended on different occasions for assessment and follow-up under the Mental Health Act, he tells the press.

Asked if any of the interactions the suspect had with police had anything to do with weapons, McDonald replies "yes".

The deputy commissioner says police have attended the residence in the past, approximately two years ago, where firearms were seized under the criminal code. He adds that the lawful owner of those firearms petitioned for them to be returned, and they were.

There's questions that need answering there. Like why was nothing done after several police visits citing mental health, and with the interactions having to do with weapons? And the weapons given back?!? He might not have been the lawful owner but come on, they knew about him.

Because if the answer is "because trans" then in an ideal world there'd be outrage. But I suspect it'll be swept under the carpet, again. Talk of not blaming the whole community, again. Saying just about anything to avoid facing the reasons head on.

Those poor victims 😢

Mother and step brother dead, where is his father/step father. Who was the registered gun owner. Why were the guns not better secured.

EvangelineTheNightStar · 11/02/2026 20:55

@ProfMummBRaaarrrTheEverLeaking the polive will no doubt have had pressure on high to not do anything that would been seen to victimise or other this man, despite all the concerns, his being upset or not having what he wanted would be at huge expectations to be avoided at all costs.

There is almost no way to secure guns from family members other than having them stored off-site (eg range) with a person controlling access.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 11/02/2026 22:16

Just watching the BBC news. They've made it clear that the suspect was born a biological male, but then have talked about the victims in the family home as being "her" mother and step brother

Helleofabore · 11/02/2026 22:24

I really have lost confidence in the ABC. Everything I read or listen to from them (and I read and/or listen most days ) I take with a grain of salt and check anything that I am keen to know more about. And the beeb.

At least in that article they eventually clarified the shooter was male. But if anyone skimmed they would probably miss that.

Okey dokey, so the trans rights movement is a cult you say, is the women's rights movement also a cult? What about lesbians, are they all in a cult?

Are all transgender people in this cult you speak of, or just some? How do you define who is in and not? I have so much to learn obviously...

The gender critical movement appears to be more of a cult to me

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/02/2026 07:00

Being a lesbian is just a woman sexually attracted to females and not males. Supporting women’s rights is the movement for equality and liberation of the female sex. Being “transgender” means that your stereotyped view of what the opposite sex is means that you think your stereotypes are more important than biological, scientific reality. It’s certainly a quasi religious belief, even when expressed relatively benignly.
