Support worker and service user had an argument due to a comment made by the support worker. The service users door had been broken by police due to a possible welfare concern. This had the not been fixed for a few days and the support worker said maybe it was because the hotel were “tried of it it. Which then in turn caused an argument. The support worker then choose not to tie up for the shift the next day. The service users lost money due to having things booked and having to pay for transport to a supermarket meanwhile despite being the instigator the support worker got full pay.

If you as service user need repeated welfare concern calls your mh is clearly unstable. It would be interesting to hear the sw side of the conversation. If the support worker feels at personal risk they can refuse the call unless safeguarding measures are put in place. Was the agency aware of the situation in advance? How do you know they were paid regardless, most are on 0hours and mw.

Meandmrmen · 09/02/2026 11:48

I did pay for it actually not tha it’s relaxant

How did you pay for it? Did you pay for the police time and training to show up? No you didnt.

They get paid from public money too just like the care worker who you said earlier was wasting public money and resources. Abd how she shouldnt get paid if she doesnt show up.... do you not genuinely see how much it must affect peoples physical and mental health dealing with this nonsense day in and out? And that they deserve a break if needed?

Christ twice is regularly enough is it not? But of course you dont care cause you arent paying for it.

All of this is money being spent on you that you didnt earn but yet you're complaining about her? Who pays for the hotel btw?

You arent her boss either.

This is why people are saying you seem unpleasant and entitled.

Yes and she also didn’t earn what she was paid for (: the manager of the company told me she wouldn’t give me the money back as money from the concuil wasn’t her money or mine. Though pity she didn’t apply that theory to paying the support workwr

I didn’t ask them to come not like I called them

Why did police break down a door in the HOTEL ?
Doesn't ring true.

The sw did earn it though for all the other times she showed up.... like I have a job and pay into the system so if unable to do my job due to sickness etc I still get paid because I earned that right by working previously. Same as mat pay, I'm not at work currently but get paid because I worked before and paid into the system.

SleeplessInWherever · 09/02/2026 11:57

You sound like you have a personal gripe against this woman, and it’s probably for the best you’re assigned a new support worker.

Amongst many other things, having needs doesn’t make you unaccountable or above reproach.

Why were you passed out though or not able to be reached? Obviously if you're down as vulnerable and they cant get a hold of you they will need to check

It’s temporary housing in a hotel

Yes she got paid for a lot more than she should as most of the time I couldn’t stand being with her for the full amount of hours

The service users contract is with the care company, not the individual support workers.

As long as the suppprt worker is clear with tye care company around their hours, arrival time, finish time, any non attendance etc then that’s them meeting their obligations.

Any issues are between either the care company and the service user, as it’s the care company who provide the service. Or the care company and their staff member - if they’re not doing what they’re being employed by them to do.

It’s also perfectly reasonable for a support worker to suggest some contextual reasons why things may be happening. Yes, in an ideal world companied and staff wouldn’t become frustrated by their clients - but the world is not ideal and understanding your impact on others and knock on consequences of that is an important life skill.

Meandmrmen · 09/02/2026 12:06

This is a really supportive support worker I had bags to carry already had carried a number still some left in her car she point blank wouldn’t help.

OP, she's a support worker not your slave. You sound thoroughly unpleasant, I doubt anyone enjoys working with you.

You need to look to yourself before criticising others.

This in spades.

You are clearly a problematic individual, and only care to blame others instead of looking at yourself. Your previous posts demonstrate this clearly.

She shouldn’t have to stay mute if she doesn’t agree with something. And you complain that you lost out financially- what about the hotel (that you benefit from, FOC), because of a situation involving you they are now out of pocket and having to fix a door that was kicked in?

LIZS · 09/02/2026 12:09

Meandmrmen · 09/02/2026 11:53

If you can’t see the impact beyond yourself then you are clearly not in a good headspace. Just because you didn’t call them yourself does not mean you did not intend to attract professional attention and use their resources. Maybe it is appropriate, maybe not. There have been several threads recently debating self harm and its intentions as attention seeking, false alarm or to make a serious attempt. You need more support than this agency can offer, hopefully they will make an urgent referral for your case. Just because you are being charged for the missed call does not mean sw is paid and there are consequential costs to the health and social care system.

Course I can open the door but no when passed out no

So you're the "service user"

What caused you to pass out?

Omg you're not getting it.... it doesnt matter what she gets paid, it's none of your business. Like everyone that works she is entitled to have days off.
She will be getting paid minimum wage in what is a horrible thankless job. She might be cheeky at times but wouldnt you be if you had to work with you?

Actions have consequences but you seem oblivious to all of yours.

FrozenFebruary · 09/02/2026 12:13

Tryingtokeepgoing · 09/02/2026 09:29

Based on the OPs posting style and completely unreasonableness about the consequences of delaying the appointment by 2 hours to suit them, then yes I suspect the OPs behaviours / responses were seen as abusive by the care worker, paid minimum wage or not far off, and they didn’t want to out up with it.

It is not unreasonable to change a care time to actually suit a service user.

The OP might come across as a bit spikey but it's very frustrating to be reliant on care workers to be able too fk ordinary things.

care workers shouldn't be saying things like she said & winding service users up about it.

It's irrelevant how much the worker gets paid. If she can't do the job well, she shouldn't be doing it. Vulnerable people deserve better, not to be spoken to like crap & expected to just put up with it cheerfully because they're dependent on them.

NerrSnerr · 09/02/2026 12:13

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 09/02/2026 12:10

It’s probably best you read the thread. The OP is the service user and is on 117 aftercare meaning she has spent time on a Section 3 of the MHA meaning she has significant mental health problems. You probably can’t give any constructive advice without the back story.

TurtleCavalryIsSeriousShit · 09/02/2026 12:13

I know this has nothing to do with this thread, but that Care Worker sounds South African 😂. We use words like 'sharp' and 'eish'.

Okay, as you were.... I'll let myself out.

(The OP isn't listening to reason anyway, so I won't even try)

Balloonhearts · 09/02/2026 12:18

You sound like a nightmare and pretty unpleasant to work with. They have the right to refuse you service and tbh I don't blame her.

Cosyblankets · 09/02/2026 12:18

It's not your business to know whether they got paid

This is the real world and unfortunately low skilled jobs like care are rarely done by people who have any other options. The OP asked a question/ made a comment and the sw answered truthfully, not rudely at all.
People shouldnt have to go to work and listen to self indulgent nonsense from their patients or answer questions about their pay cheques. Sw are not robots or slaves like this OP seems to expect and maybe they need told that they way the behave is unreasonable.

Also whilst it might be frustrating relying on others that doesnt mean you can talk or treat them whatever way you want..... I'd love to hear the otherside of this story.

FrozenFebruary · 09/02/2026 12:21

socialdilemmawhattodo · 09/02/2026 09:04

That was not a vile comment. The OP quite clearly has ongoing recurring issues that they are not dealing with. Why should the tax payer have to fund this? Police involvement? So expensive for the tax payer and real crimes get ignored.

Yes it was vile, and yours is ignorant.

The OP obviously has 'issues' or wouldn't need the support. You have NO idea what she is doing to 'deal with it' people don't have support workers for the fun of it.

Tax payers fund this because we support more vulnerable members of our society. If you don't like that, feel free to live in a country where they don't. Where disabled people live in the streets.

it's not the OP's fault that welfare checks are done by the police in the U.K. nor that we are not employing enough police.

VoiceFromThePit · 09/02/2026 12:21

OP you come across as being very ungrateful, maybe you should start paying a different support comapny out of your own pocket? OP you are the problem.
