Attended one yesterday as a bridesmaid. The brides cousin was also a bridesmaid, spent the whole morning clearly aggrieved that the day wasn't about her... smoked in the getting ready suite and had to be told to put it out, then lit up again and claimed she had forgotten when the bride told her and made a snarky comment..then presented her silver converse she had customised to wear with her dress as she "doesn't really do heels"... the bride ignored her and sweetly said "at this point I don't think I can stop you" as she knows what she's like then what do you know, she wears the heels! There were loads of instances like this all day and she is 28 but seemed to want to just be am inconvenience all day which I assume was jealousy...even little things like being late for photos and pretending not to hear when called over, pushing the food round her plate, really ungracious behaviour. The wedding was fantastic! She could have really enjoyed it much more. Not really an aibu but whats the worst behaviour youve seen like this?

Friend of the groom whipped his penis out, put it in a bread roll, buttered it and went round the tables offering it to old ladies.
Whaaaat??? Oh my! That’s comically bad. And horrifying.

I think it's horrifying. I'm sorry - I just think it crosses a line. Par for the course amongst horrible blokes in their own little bubble, but when a man starts exposing himself to women (esp elderly ones, and I expect there were children about) that is not funny in my book. It's indecent exposure, lewd behaviour and verging on a sexual assault.

Sorry - but this one really makes me angry. People stripping off is one thing - but he was actually offering a penis to strangers to touch...eeuuww. Seriously gross, perverted and borderline crimina.

It probably never happened, so I wouldn’t get too worked up about it!

My wedding ceremony was delayed because my in laws were over an hour late. It was a 3pm ceremony. Their excuse? They were cleaning the Airbnb before check out.

Cousin’s husband kept disappearing during the Wedding Breakfast Breakfast to do coke in the toilets. Then got so shitfaced he spent the rest of the day and evening face down farting on a sofa in the hotel’s reception area.

First example: very elderly and shaky old priest knocked a bottle of ink over the bride's dress while she and the groom were signing the register in the vestry. Those of us in the congregation didn't see it happen, just heard the bride and her mother suddenly screaming and crying and the bride's father shouting and swearing. When they came back the bride was in floods of tears and was absent for most of the reception. I felt so sorry for her.

Second: the best man had got married two months earlier to a stunningly attractive woman. She turned up at the wedding in the dress she had worn at her own wedding - a full length white lace job with a full skirt and a very low neckline. She was sitting on the top table and features in a lot of the photographs! She was not British and her new husband told everyone this was normal behaviour in her home country. I was chief bridesmaid and I didn't believe a word of it.

Third: for my wedding I bought the material for the bridesmaids dresses, together with the pattern (which was the same style as my dress) and paid for the bridesmaids to have their dresses made by professional dressmakers near where they each lived. My new SIL turned up on the day in a TOTALLY different style of dress which didn't match the others at all. Without saying a word to me she had decided she didn't like the style I had chosen and asked her dressmaker to make her something completely different. If she had told me in advance that was what she wanted to do I would have told the other bridesmaids they could also choose their own style. As it was she stood out like a sore thumb and offered not a word of apology.

One of the brides work friends giving the usher a blow job in the corridor in the hotel.

First example isn't bad behaviour, it sounds like an unfortunate accident. It sounds like bad behaviour on the part of the wedding part to be screaming and shouting and swearing over it.

CommonlyKnownAs · 11/02/2026 19:26

Afaik I've never been to a wedding where one of the couple shagged someone else, a guest's genitals made contact with bread products or someone got evicted. Few fights, but nothing else so interesting! I feel quite pedestrian now.

CherryRipe1 · 11/02/2026 19:53

I've just randomly remembered another one. Friend's wedding, reception held at a race course function room that had a stage. The bride and groom changed into latex rubber ware from their wedding clothes, now this was 1977 so not so mainstream then. The bride was up on the stage, might have been for a speech & someone crept up & hoiked her dress up showing all her bits and pieces infront of everyone as she was knickerless. The latex split so she had to change back into her wedding dress. It was funny and horrifying at the same time.

I thought that too. I feel very sorry for the poor priest.

I was wondering if the groom had said the name of the person he was actually in love with during the vows, like the episode of Friends. But have just realised that he possibly didn't even know it 😯.

Do you mean he literally fell in love at the wedding ?

Yes. Apparently so, according to the poster who was attending.

I want to know what this looked like. Did he spend the whole reception chatting to the colleague and ignoring his new wife? Did they dance all night? Did he direct the lovey dovey bits of his speech at her?

Enquiring minds must know!

I almost feel that an ink blot on a wedding dress would make for a good story / picture. Or failing that, sounds like something that could be edited out of the photos quite easily. Either way, it's not like most people plan on wearing a wedding dress a second time, so it's not like it could have impacted future events either...

My husband was at a wedding (he’s in the industry) in a beautiful castle. The groom was refused more alcohol after the wedding had finished, so he started a fire in the building where his family and friends were sleeping. He destroyed a wing of the castle and was later jailed.

Peckforton Castle in Cheshire?

I do too, although also for the bride. I don't blame her for being upset. I do blame the people swearing and carrying on, though.

Gahr · 11/02/2026 23:30

The more I think about this story, the worse I feel for the bride. That being said, he cannot really have been all that much in love with her in the first place if he was able to fall in love with someone else at first sight

This happened in an 80's Tom Hanks film called Bachelor Party. The bridal party included a few conservative ladies & they ended up at a Chippendales show on the hen night. One of the Chippendales was waiting on tables & tricked one of them by offering a "hot dog" from a strategically placed tray 🌭

Am I the only one who thinks the penis in the bun guy should be locked up? Sicko !!

No, I think so too. I'm really enjoying the thread so wasn't going to post especially because I also suspect part of the reason people are finding it so funny is because it was elderly women he was trying to upset with his nasty prank.

I'm expecting to get booed for saying that. Hopefully not as those kind of responses can turn into a sub-thread.
