Inspired by a clip I just saw on Instagram.

Deep breath.

Here goes.

Robin Williams wasn’t particularly funny.

ETA “Start” obviously.

Mother's should have at least two years off to raise their new born. They should have it written in their contracts that, because raising children is by far the most important thing a person can do, they still get full pay, half funded by the government. And they should be allowed to have their job back if they want it when the two years are up. Government funding stops, back to employers paying them fully.

Edited

That’ll only be another reason for employers to not employ women of child bearing age, though. If someone isn’t successful at interview, there is no legal obligation to provide feedback or a reason why they didn’t get the job.

Coffee of any type, including in food, is absolutely revolting. I hate it and won't touch it. I can never understand the worldwide obsession with it! I don't even like the word ''coffee''. UGH!

muggart · 07/02/2026 09:23

adults who offer unrelated children sugary foods should be heavily, heavily stigmatised because they’re shitheads.

Most people who say “treat foods are fine in moderation” are using a very lax definition of moderation and are giving their kids junk every day and pretending to themselves that they’re not. Even every week is too much actually.

chocolate, sweets, juice etc every day is indulgent and gluttonous. it’s also fine, if you’re an adult. but leave the kids alone!

Sadiq Khan is doing a good job
Immigration is a good thing
Tommy Robinson and his ilk are poorly educated thugs and not any kind of heroic figures

I fully agree with you, I can't stand him!

People who post on unpopular opinions threads just to moan about them and say how awful they are, are actually just place marking so they can make sure they don’t miss anything.

A bit like Daily Mail readers who claim to hate it.

omg this

theyll be back😂

People keep blaming capitalism for the UK’s woes and I actually think theres not enough capitalism. We have the most expensive infrastructure builds in Europe because we insist on letting every tom dick and harry object to everything the sheer . Public spending is a vacuum and we don’t leave people with enough money to actually encourage proper growth. Taxes are making peoples lives worse it’s not that there aren’t enough benefits.

The capitalism that you love is building expensive boxes with hardly any inside or outside spaces, on land that is vital to our food security when in many cases brownfield sites are avaliable. To add insult to injury the number of affordable/ council home they originally plan to deliver often gets reduced during construction. As for affordable homes - they are building 20,000 homes near my cousin in Adlington. The affordable home price is c£400k! That's wouldn't to help first time movers on normal salaries in the London let alone the North. I bet they will also have to pay those annual fees to for up keep of the roads and communal spaces.

Capitalism allows companies like Amazon to kill conpetion whist paying minimum taxes despite enjoying all the benefits of the UK labour force, UK customers and UK infrastructure. It benefits from tax payer funded services like education the NHS abd public infrastructure whilst using loopholes to limit how much tax it pays to helps fund them meaning ordinary tax payers pick up.the shortfall.

Capitalism can drive innovation and growth, but when left unchecked it eventually becomes parasitic, taking without contributing fairly to society.

TLDR

Capitalism and privatisation has driven up the cost of everything including infrastructure in the UK.

You don’t need to spell anything out for me. Your original post said “he was very intelligent and a lot more courteous than the interviewer”. Nothing about how he was able to walk in plain sight, slip through the net, appear to be more charming than he was etc.

I’ve read extensively about all of this, I don’t consider it “tripe” to read through information and messages that were sent between powerful men and educate myself about how the world really works. Him coming across as charming and courteous in one interview is just the tip of the iceberg. That’s why I said you should read the Epstein files and the reporting around them.

“god it’s exhausting having to spell things out but there you go”

This comment suggests the poster definitely did need to spell it out for you. Unless you seriously believed they were saying he's a nice guy? Hmm

you make false assumptions that I don't have the information I need to form an opinion without wading through the DoJ website nor the reporting that is in our face every day, much of which I avoid as it doesn't enhance my understanding further.

next you'll be saying "educate yourself" which is the normal put down on here. Thanks. It really is too exhausting to have to write everything out chapter and verse.

have a very happy Saturday

It's reasonable as a woman to be wary of men from countries where women are considered as second class citizens. I much rather would have women and children immigrating from those countries.

I suspect atleast half of all barber shops to be fronts for money laundering/other illegal activities (confirmed by police officer in family).

All indie pop lovers are pretentious and think their taste is superior- looking at you dh.

I am sick of all those who want unreasonable measures to be taken to accomodate the minority.

Childcare should be free and stately monitored with highly skilled and well-paid staff (as in Scandinavia). And only female staff since 99% of paedophiles are male.

Teaching people, especially perfectly healthy people, to introspect about their mental health is bad for their mental health.

A lot of people in real life are incredibly complacent about child abuse and most don't see it as their responsibility to do anything - massive bystander effect. You'd be really suprised what supposedly trustworthy adults can know about whilst looking the other way because it doesn't suit them to rock the boat

Thank you for posting this.
My job involves safeguarding children, I have 20 years experience in it, and my experience has shown me that what you have said is right.
I would also add that an alarming amount of adults don't recognise child abuse when it's happening right in front of them, and/or don't recognise how to spot the signs in a child that they are being abused.
I have to do a mandatory annual child safeguarding module in order to keep up to date for my job. I have long held the opinion that every adult in the land should be made to complete them. We all have a collective responsibility to safeguard our children. However, I think this would be an unpopular opinion.
*Edited to add: Exactly the same - what you have said and what I have said - is true for adult abuse. (My job also involves adult safeguarding too.)

If we invested in education between the ages of 0-5 everything in society would be better as these generations grow up.

Parenting classes would be more useful than trying to educate babies and toddlers!

Too many people don't understand that their desire for a service to exist doesn't create suitable people who are willing to do it.

We don't have to separate the art from the artist and musicians/actors/artists/public figures who abused their wives/were adulterous/had a 17-year-old girlfriend at age 30 are not geniuses and don't deserve to be revered.

Hard agree.

anterenea · 07/02/2026 09:33

Men don't have children - they can turn into wonderful fathers but fundamentally it's women who have and make children, not men

FullLondonEye · 07/02/2026 09:33

Chocolate strawberries are gross. Chocolate on any fruit, actually.

Chocolate is great. Strawberries/other fruits are great. Put together they are not.

I don't mean flavoured chocolate like a Terry's Chocolate Orange. I mean actual chocolate put on actual pieces of fruit. Just no.

And people who insist on telling you you only don’t like instant coffee; that real coffee is totally different and is wonderful. It’s still bloody coffee!

MonsteraDeliciosa · 07/02/2026 09:35

A lot of not very unpopular opinions here; who TF doesn’t think Ant and Dec are a tedious, overexposed tossers?

Mine is I have no problem with dog breeders (not puppy farmers) as I want a beautiful golden retriever puppy of known parentage. I don’t want a previously abused or neglected mongrel, probably of dubious background, that I have to “rescue”.

When on your own and out with your baby in the pram,

Prams should be folded to use public transport. If yours doesn't, then you have chosen not to use public transport.

Oh, an unpopular opinions thread. Let's sit back and wait for the influx of racists, anti-semites, benefits bashers, disability bashers, fat shamers, thin shamers ... three, two, one ...

Or someone just being called all of those names because they have an opinion/experience of something
