To think is odd to refer to a 32 year old as a young woman

Yes, 32 is still young. Not middle aged until 40 at least!

My DM is 85 her granddaughters are all in that age range and she would refer to them as young women. Seems logical to me.

Young woman is normal, she wouldn’t be middle aged or an older woman.

Imo, a woman in her early twenties maybe ip to 25, is a young woman.But beyond that not so much

if someone said a young man was calling at the door would you expect a 32 year old man or a teenager? I would expect a teenager.

A woman ranges in age from 18 to very elderly.

To me a young woman or young man is under 25.

25 to 60 is a woman or man.
60 - 75 is an older woman or man.
75 plus is an elderly woman or man.

@Bellyblueboy What if she looks younger? I'd probably call a teen a young lad rather than a young man-I'd expect older than a teenager I think.

To be fair, the OP just said a 32yr old. If that 32yr old in question was Harry Styles, then yes, it would be odd to refer to them as a young woman.

No, just to be a human. 32 is hardly old now is it? Op gave no context whatsoever, just implied that 'calling' a woman of 32 young was odd, I don't think it's odd as 32 in human terms is still young, or at least it certainly isn't old.

YABVU. I am ten years older than that and I think of myself as young (and am read as young by most people I meet)
