I've had too much time on my hands this week due to illness and I've gone down a rabbit hole with the epstein files.
Is anyone else struggling after reading this vile stuff?
I'm absolutely reeling and feel physically sick to my core. The world I thought we lived in doesn't exist (and probably never did in my lifetime).
It appears that not one single man involved will be held accountable. They are all being protected and the whole thing is being brushed under the carpet.
Why is this barely being reported on? Where are the protests? Are we being desensitised to this evil?
Can anyone help me make sense of this? 😢

It’s been making me absolutely sick. Oh, it is being reported on. Someone even made a searchable database that’s being circulated - this has come down to the people demanding justice, because apparently the government are just too damn scared, or complicit.
there are brave people like heather cox Richardson or Bernie Sanders or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, but they’re playing by the rules while these evil perpetrators never did.

i think for our health maybe it’s better not to read these things. If you can … don’t let these evil men take away any of YOUR life. They should not be able to harm your peace. There are so many hugely incriminating emails where the co-correspondent (often the sender) name is redacted. Why?? These are predators, not victims. Why is it covered up?

All I'm commenting on is that someone claimed the Epstein files are being ignored in news reports. They aren't. The news has been full of the Epstein files!

Praying for victims is pointless is this stuff isn’t discussed and brought to light, and people prosecuted (or at least disempowered in the eyes of the world if we can’t hope for prosecution)

Why are the general public being subjected to witnessing this absolute horror show but the men who committed the crimes just going about their day to day lives.

I read back in the 1990’s Andrea Dworkins, life and death ! As a feminist she was decades ahead of the curve. Dworkins very clearly said back then that all men are protected by men !

I know a few - (or: knew in the past, rather, as I’ll have nothing to do with them) and when people were raised in this fundamentalist Christian nationalist cult, they are almost childlike in their naivety. They are so used to just parroting whatever a leader says to them… there have even been scientific studies that have found that their brains have been formed improperly, almost as if they have a parasite - so they’re more susceptible to cults and conspiracy theories after having been raised in this fundamentalist mindset.

so if they do realize how deeply bad their leaders are, they won’t be saying anything. Some of them are in churches and communities who still believe what Fox News tells them, so it would be hard to break away.

there’s someone named Monte Mader who is a former fundamentalist who talks about this. She’s really smart and outspoken… she managed to realize how wrong her cult was and get away, and now she is a very strong voice for justice.

As citizens we should be very concerned about Starmer’s off the record meetings with Palantir, Bill Gates and BlackRock, and his fervent desire to shut down X and get back doors into our encrypted phones. in some cases, they even redacted things like “don’t” - yes the word “don’t” is redacted, just in case it’s a mention of Don T.

I think it's SO horrific, and widespread that it's hard to take it all in. It DOES feel like a conspiracy theory, but the many, many emails are there in black and white for us all to read, even when names are redacted. It feels like there's been such a huge information dump to overwhelm us. And the lack of action or prosecutions is bewildering. I can only hope that the public outcry will force the prosecuting authorities to do something. This is not a party political issue, pp from across the political spectrum were involved. I've seen footage on Twitter from American politicians calling for action. Ok need to keep the pressure on until those responsible are held to account.

I used to think extreme conspiracy theories were possibly invented to make the more likely scenarios lack substance, eg, the claims they ate babies to take a shine off the more likely crime of child rape. So the abuser could argue the toss, “x is a nutcase, of course I don’t rape kids - same way I don’t eat babies 🙄” but the older i get the more I think about the lovely men I’ve met who have had CSAI on their laptops and gotten suspended sentences. The nice bus driver who raped his 4 year old daughter. The stories of “nice” men on here who have used sex workers for the last 20 years behind their wives back. Maybe if these very average men are sexually depraved peadophiles, maybe men who have more power and wealth than most people can imagine are actually so fucked up they will do more and more deplorable conspiracy theory sounding shit just because they can. Maybe it isn’t as I thought so ludicrous to discredit victims. Maybe it is actually just pure fucking evil and those people telling crazy stories are actually telling the truth
