I haven't been able to abandon Thames Water, but LK Bennett I gave up a long time ago as quality declined and prices increased (in the wake of PE).

Private Equity is usually the kiss of death to a company. Shops being bought by private Equity companies end up shutting a year or two later because they're not making a profit (because PE have hiked their prices up).

Anything you are selling you make look more popular than it is in reality eg show homes etc in higher value schemes often hire in actors for open evenings. It is SO obvious some of the threads on here are clickbait recently. Purely posted for engagement IMO.

MN has had its day anyway. People take the piss out of MNers (id never, ever admit i come on here IRL!) and it's just gone very odd in the past few years. Full of posters who talk absolute bollocks, take every opportunity to tell everyone they earn six figures even if the thread is about cheese (did ye, aye), cant read, will argue white is black rather than admit they got something wrong, or just plain willfully obtuse. It attracts a very immature audience now just after a bit of a laugh with the occasional serious issue.

It'll tick over still but it'll never be as good as back in the day, its just a glorified subreddit now.
