The one where the men get their jollies showing their cock and balls. There is a petition which is not getting much traction. You may want to sign if you don't want to encourage this.

How the hell does it play into child grooming? The events are strictly controlled, have you ever been to one?

Because it normalises people being naked in public for no sensible reason. “Ha ha ha harmless naked people having a lark for a good cause.”

Children find it difficult to discern when adult behaviour crosses a line into sexualised behaviour. Adults who groom children are clever at exploiting opportunities to make nakedness seem innocent and amusing - situations escalate and it becomes dark and unpleasant.

If we are publicly promoting nakedness we create more of those opportunities for adults to say “well this is fine isn’t it, you know there are people doing all sorts of fun things with no clothes on, so it’s fine for us to be naked together.”

justsaying2023 · 27/01/2026 15:56

I find it disturbing that people believe that children and vulnerable people are only safe from them if they have their clothes on - What do you think you would do that required safeguarding if you were undressed?
Bike ride goes from outside work every year, I just don't attend or stay late so I've never seen them.

Clychaugog · 27/01/2026 15:58

I think all the clenchers on here need to spend a sunny day on a nudie beach.

In the company of children and (way sexier than me) women, somehow, men manage to not walk round with a massive stonk on perving on everyone.

saddle sniffers hahaha thats a new one

I believe the technical term is 'quumfers', or 'snudgers'

It's once a year. If you happen to come across it unexpectedly when you have children with you just turn round and walk the other way, it's not hard.

StrangerThingsHappenRoundTheTwist · 27/01/2026 16:04

There is nothing inherently wrong or sexual about nakedness

It’s not necessarily about people stumbling across the event. It’s the fact that it’s a naked event in order to grab headlines. The aim is to raise awareness of their cause - but the effect is everyone says “it’s fine to cycle around naked.”

Ask Virginia Giuffre what happened when she was told it’s perfectly normal to be naked during a massage. Oh wait a minute, you can’t because her whole life was ruined and she took her own life.

Being naked in public isn’t normal. I don’t want anyone telling my kids it’s normal.

Are you seriously using Epstein here as an argument?

Being naked for a massage isn't inherently sexual or unusual

The issue was they then got a vulnerable person to do things that aren't a massage

It doesn't prove anything and is just one of those "ha look, I've referred to an awful person so I win"

Sorry but it's out of order to compare a legalised, policed event with what happened to Virginia.

Also the human body IS normal, you shouldn't be afraid of your kids seeing that bodies come in all shapes and sizes. It would probably be quite healthy for them to see what people really look like not the sanitised, filtered photo's that are everywhere.

saraclara · 27/01/2026 17:23

I'm amazed at the number of posters who, despite being horrified at seeing naked people, took the trouble to focus on the very part of the naked males that they claimed they didn't want to see. And for long enough to be able to count the erections.

One would have thought that their horror would have made them look the other way, or at least not looked for the penii.

SunnySideDeepDown · 27/01/2026 17:35

StrangerThingsHappenRoundTheTwist · 26/01/2026 21:29

He could walk down the street naked perfectly legally too...

"Yes darling, he choses to not wear clothes and when you're older you can make those decisions too"

Just like "yes darling, that lady had 5 piercing in her ear" or "that man has lots of tattoos" or "they decided to cross when the red man was showing"

Nope. Thats a public order breach. I guarantee you that anyone walking around naked in public would either be arrested or detained under the mental health act.

Are you really saying it’s ok for men to walk around naked in public, in front of children?

Have you heard yourself 😂

But they need to look to make sure they have erections for them to be horrified over 😉

They might be arrested but they'd soon be let go

There's actual evidence of this

Simply being naked isn't an offence

Have you actually had a quick Google?

Because the most cursory search would tell you that someone naked walking around in public is not breaking the law.

The Naked Rambler was arrested and let go throughout England, his issues started in Scotland and then become a lot of either ignoring Scottish law (which is different) or ignoring ASBOs and contempt of court

Naturist Richard Collins

Hastings: Arrested naked man told he committed no offences

Naturist Richard Collins was arrested by an off-duty police officer for being naked in Hastings.

Except it also says unless it’s causing someone distress. It would certainly cause people distress. In the real world, no one would want people to be walking around naked. You’re such a mumsnetter, arguing for something that’s so obviously unacceptable.

Whether it’s an offence or not (I stand by that they’d be detained), it’s socially unacceptable. Or are you going to argue that you’d be perfectly fine for men to walk around naked now?

If only poverty had as much attention as this bike ride. Or is that socially acceptable ? Because there is a fuck of a lot of it about.

If the INTENT is to cause distress

It's not "obviously unacceptable". For plenty of people it's a none event

No, actually, it doesn't bother me particularly if ANYONE (women are naturists too) is naked

Don't be silly

That is something that actually harms children

Why would they get morally outraged about that?

Those poor people deserve it ya know

You need to read it fully (emphasis mine):

An act of public nudity is unlikely to constitute this offence unless members of the public were caused actual harassment, alarm or distress (as opposed to considering the likelihood of this happening or the complainant personally finding
nudity distasteful or offensive).

Sorry, you are correct.

Obviously I'd rather children were safe from the remote possiblity they might see a naked man (since the OP seems most vexed about men with erections) than warm, fed and provided for.

Exactly

All these naked men which are definitely swarming the streets and walking around with erections are far more dangerous than children not having the basics

In the real world, I don’t believe most people would give a toss if they saw people walking round naked.
