Those on this thread that are really content, do you have any tips for those of us who aren't? 😂

Yes....find some tiny baby goats. 😂😂😂

MerryGuide · 25/01/2026 22:31

When it snowed the other day, my DD and DH were so joyful in it that my heart felt so full.

Makemineacosmo · 25/01/2026 22:57

I don't know really. I don't think that I'm unhappy. I'm content and grateful with my life.

MrsSPenguins · 25/01/2026 23:00

Today when DH told me he had found the hedgehog stepping stones I really wanted discounted. Then also when DD contacted me from university saying it was an emergency. The emergency was she needed to make blue cheese and broccoli pasta.

1994
I was super slim
Young
Zero responsibilities
Zero money worries
Zero pressures
Zero stress
Only had to look after myself

TheUsualChaos · 25/01/2026 23:04

Probably during the pandemic. Despite us both being key workers so no furlough for us, life still slowed down in other ways. There was less pressure. The weather was glorious. DC were little. Pre cost of living crisis, we didn't ever feel short of money, not like the constant squeeze now. Life felt good. Been a bit of a shit show since then.

soddingspiderseason · 25/01/2026 23:06

Today - laughing and singing along to a motown song with my beautiful, funny daughter in the car. Simple, joyful moments.

Cel77 · 25/01/2026 23:08

I really can't say recently. I get excited, hopeful, I laugh but happiness? I remember feeling super happy when I found out I was pregnant the 3 times I was.
Happy and relieved when I secured our son's EHCP.

Fifteen years ago, before my 7 yr old son died.

I'm so sorry. Sending you hugs xx

InLoveWithAI · 25/01/2026 23:13

I'm genuinely happy, have been for a while.

Uppitymuppity · 25/01/2026 23:19

I think during lockdown

ABeerInTheSunshineMakesMeHappy · 25/01/2026 23:22

I’m happy-content the majority of the time.
Felt a bit down a couple of weeks ago with the bad weather and when I was having medical treatment at the beginning of last year, but that’s unusual for me.
My life is good and I’m generally an optimistic type person. I retired two years ago so don’t even have any work stress.

However the last time I actively thought ‘wow I’m really happy, having a brilliant time’ was on holiday with my friend in November as we sat singing old songs together after a couple of drinks.

WallaceinAnderland · 25/01/2026 23:23

Pretty much all the time. I'm truly happy right now.

Magnalux · 25/01/2026 23:26

I’m a glass half full person, I always assume things will just work out and everything will be fine even when going through tough times. Whatever the opposite of catastrophising is I do that. So I’ve always been happy at every stage of my life. I love my life always have.

TheatreTraveller · 25/01/2026 23:26

I've things that worry me and life certainly isn't perfect, my dad died just over a year ago, I've just had a very expensive car bill and my job is unsustainable it's so stressful BUT I have a lovely husband, 2 beautiful children, family and friends, and lots of things to look forward to so I'm very grateful and happy most days.

Flatandhappy · 25/01/2026 23:34

I’m happy most of the time, partly because I am very grateful to still be alive. DH and I were counting our blessings yesterday chilling by our pool where the water temp was 29, sun was shining and we were drinking rose and it’s not just something that happens two weeks a year. If I wasn’t happy I would be pretty stupid.

ElleintheWoods · 25/01/2026 23:38

I’m happy most of the time. Didn’t used to be but now wake up with a smile most mornings

Get out for a walk every day (even for 15 minutes)
Keep in touch with your friends
Listen to music (and dance!)
Stroking a pet can be calming
Try not to get too worked up about things that won’t matter in 6 months time or which you personally have no way of influencing.

But obviously depends on your individual circumstances.

larkstar · 25/01/2026 23:44

I feel happy about most things every day - I just don't dwell on problems - life is so short so I try and get something good out of every single day whatever's going on.

Notthisagainyouidiot · 25/01/2026 23:46

This morning on the beach, with my dog, in Wales in the sunshine. I'm back home in dank drizzle now, with dental work being done in the morning, but I'm sustaining the happy.

Megirlan123 · 25/01/2026 23:46

I am. Currently life is peaceful and I’m content. I’m always at my happiest when I have my peace. It’s not always this way but I’m grateful it is now.

GoldMerchant · 25/01/2026 23:49

Standing outside my little boy's door to go in to turn his light off, and hearing him read aloud to himself. And with my husband, watching a video of my daughter singing to herself. Felt so full of joy that I get to share in their wonderful worlds.

Most of the happiness I get now is from my children, but probably the happiest I've ever been was on my honeymoon, before they were born. I've never been more relaxed, I can't remember a bad moment of it, and I don't think I'll feel that amazing sense of lightness again.

DontPokeMe · 25/01/2026 23:55

I think all emotions are fluid so to feel happy is fleeting.

I have lots of moments of joy at work. My job is incredibly emotionally demanding, but I see little glimmers of hope in the people that I work with, and it's a beautiful thing.

My pets also bring me lots of little moments of happiness during the day.
