They were unlikely to be a mum

This is the stupidest post on here ever and thats saying something

PollyBell · 25/01/2026 00:42

I would assume unless they give more context they are attention seeking

7238SM · 25/01/2026 00:44

Umm, I would assume English was their 2nd language and would ask for clarification of what they meant?

PivotPivotmakingmargaritas · 25/01/2026 00:44

No !!! Far out what a horrible assumption. Most of my friends and myself didn’t have children to after 30

ExpectZeroContext · 25/01/2026 00:44

Absolutely. No women over 30 has ever in the history of human civilisation had a child

RueLepic · 25/01/2026 00:44

Are you not getting the responses you wanted on your other thread about how sad you feel about the ‘limited window’ you’re supposed to have children in?

No, I had absolutely no interest in having a child at 30. I wouldn’t think it had any bearing on whether or not a person was likely to have children or not in the future.

Ohthatsabitshit · 25/01/2026 00:44

I think the average age for a first child is about thirty so half of all the women. The uk have their first later.

Echobelly · 25/01/2026 00:44

It would be unreasonable to assume that, yes. Barely any of my friends had a kid by 30, some of them not by 35, but most of those who wanted one do have a child or children

purpleme12 · 25/01/2026 00:44

Erm not really

Why

jezlifecoach · 25/01/2026 00:45

it’s 2026 and we still care what choice women make with their bodies? Huh

SlB09 · 25/01/2026 00:45

Why is everyone being so mean?!!

No, I wouldn't not assume that. At least 10 to years left.

Well, until me. I was almost 40 when I had and the world was so surprised it threw me a giant parade with my name on balloons.

TheSmallAssassin · 25/01/2026 00:46

Given the average age in the UK for a woman having a first child is around 29, no.

ThrowingDi · 25/01/2026 00:49

I don’t really understand this tbh. 30 year olds in 2026 don’t visually look much different to people in their late 20s…who look quite young themselves. Maybe decades ago 30 looked haggard but I think in 2026, 30 isn’t really the cut off point it used to be.

Isn't it though?

I know it's Saturday night be there seems to be some sort of weird invasion.

They either all need to go to bed, or stick a lot more mixer in it.

This makes no sense. Why would you think that ‘looking haggard’ at any age was an indicator you’d passed the optimum moment for childbearing?

Wildbushlady · 25/01/2026 00:54

It's not something that I really think about at all when meeeting people.

I suppose if a woman was 50's or later, and for some strange reason I was interested in her reproductive future, I would assume children were not on the cards anymore.

Currantsultanaraisin · 25/01/2026 01:02

No, that would be a mad thing to assume.

Texann · 25/01/2026 01:08

Are you saying that if a woman reaches 30 years of age not getting pregnant, then she's not likely to ever become a mom in the future?

maybe frustrated @SlB09?

@Cinema777 also posted this thread, virtually the same

Everyone with a low IQ would think so maybe find yourself a better crowd

jbm16 · 25/01/2026 01:23

Wouldn't assume anything, had our DD's in early 30's.

britneyisfreebutnotokay · 25/01/2026 01:25

When I was a teenager. Probably.

Where I grew up, my family and friends all had children at a young age.

I didn’t have DC until I was 33.
I wasted a great deal of time distressed I’d left it too long. It’s all about the company you keep I suppose.
where I live now most are older.

Noshadelamp · 25/01/2026 01:27

Not at all. Lots of women have their first child over the age of 30, and lots more are over 30 when they have subsequent children.

I'm guessing you are 30 and being judged by family or friends for not having children yet.
Don't let it affect you, it's only their thoughts about you, doesn't mean anything.

Heartofglass12345 · 25/01/2026 01:27

No, 30 is still young! 40 maybe, but even then you can’t say for definite, my sister was 42 when she had my niece
