What did everyone have for dinner? My husband is out so I had a nibble of just about everything in the house 😂

Pasta here too!

Foronenightonlytonight · 24/01/2026 22:06

@Squeakydogtoy kids sport am, then nowt till a roast, got to try to get out to tackle some garden I think, but I enjoy that , except weather looks to be foul!! What are your plans? Might just do craft with the DC and ignore the mess! Am now pondering wallpaper for my chimney breast now I've seen the examples on here!! #inspired!

Boudy · 24/01/2026 22:07

@FunnyOrca Grub wise here. 2 had chicken with pepper, spices n basmatic rice and 2 had Tofu with pepper, spices and rice. Then I ate a doughnut and 2 mini muffins hehe

Squeakydogtoy · 24/01/2026 22:11

@Foronenightonlytonight

Going to have a Sunday stroll through the park that I live close too, then probably tackle the laundry, and maybe read my book.

Go for the decorating, there is some lovely wallpaper about. Id rather wallpaper my living room, but I just haven't got the patience to do it!!

I’m sitting up in bed with a cat stretched out along my legs and a dog snoring on her bed in the corner, watching Blackshore on the iPlayer. Lisa Dwan is so good. Been a funny few days as our other cat died this week and it has really knocked me for six, quite surprised as he much preferred DH and hadn’t bothered with me at all for a while. He was very old though and there are memories of him all over the house. And I had to tell the DC, which was awful because they loved him so much and he saw them through their entire childhoods. In desperation this evening I talked (? Corresponded?) with ChatGPT and that was actually quite helpful, I feel a bit calmer now. I hope I can take a few moments to be sad tomorrow instead of the grief just absolutely flooring me all the time. At some point I am going to have to be able to leave the house and manage a day at work without crying 😬

Anyway - we had chilli for dinner with some guacamole and a jacket potato. Just the two of us as DS is working tonight and DD away at uni. I’ll finish this episode and then probably go to sleep, I’m exhausted.

So sorry to hear about your cat. Ours is 13 with chronic kidney disease - she’s had it for over 3 years and it’s managed with diet, but I can’t see her lasting more than another 18 months. The vet says she’s doing well but he also said his lasted 5 years after diagnosis and he’s a vet ffs!
I am absolutely dreading it, I will miss her a lot, but more for the (adult) DC as she’s been with us since they were 9 and 11 respectively.

I’m in hospital, have been for a week. They’ve figured out what’s wrong but I’m going to need LOTS of physiotherapy to rebuild my muscle mass and a new medication I’ll have every 3 weeks.
got to stay here though until I can walk safely with a zimmer and I just can’t do it right now. Terrified I’ll still be stuck here next weekend. Dd2 is moving into her first flat that she and her boyfriend have bought in 3 weeks and I’m not going to make it up to the 2nd floor to see it Sad

Boudy · 24/01/2026 22:37

So sorry @weegiemum and easy for me to say ..but..take each day..steadily.

I do like watching “ crazy Stupid love” older film
but right mix of story and comedy.

chipsticksmammy · 24/01/2026 23:19

@Squeakydogtoy It’s a new series on Amazon prime with Sophie Turner. It’s great and I’m on episode 5 already.

Boudy · 24/01/2026 23:20

@namestevalian I really enjoyed The Family Stone. Diane Keaton is the mum
*edit to say there is some sadness/ poignancy in it but also amusing.

Oh thank you - I hope yours carries on for a good while yet. It’s amazing how they come to mean so much just from quietly witnessing years of our lives. Make the most of every day! 🐱
