I was more upset than I expected when our old cat died, he was old and had a great life but it was more the memories that got me, all the changes that had happened since we got him

Well I am very jealous of you having a fire, only central heating for me, but I have a lovely chocolate lab to snuggle up with so every cloud x

This is it I think. We got him when DD was 3 and now she’s in her 2nd year at uni. He was such a big part of our family life and was there with us for so many important moments. And now the DC are heading out into the world, various shenanigans with DH mean things are quite rocky, we may be selling the house, everything is fracturing, it feels like DCat was the glue that held us all together and now he’s gone. It’s all so hard to bear. Thank you everyone for your kind words, it does help to share.

It is bloody awful when our cat,dog dies. I cried so much when our beloved dog died 11 years ago..I thought I would never be ok ever again. I have had many people die in my life as well but couldn't stop crying. Perhaps a cummulation of love and loss? Who knows?

Just watching Traitors Ireland and scoffing chicken and french bread. Just recovering from stomach problems so it is so nice to get my appetite back.

Gorgeous cat photo! We can't have a cat as 2 family members are really allergic which is very annoying! We have 2 dogs though.

Evening! In for the chat if that's ok? Chilling with mulled wine and cheese, fire lit. Had a nice day out country park with kids n OH, bacon butties. For wallpaper, I prefer the darker one on the right of the flower choices, and the middle top of the cream choices. I like both paint choices OP, go as daring as you can I reckon!! Looking forward to another good sleep hopefully tonight as catching up from DC being ill in the week. I am crap at TV watching, hence MN and chill!! (Is that a thing!?!?) Might scroll vinted for bargain coats.

Evening. Sat on the settee with my just turned 10 month old asleep on me, eating a bag of chocolate. I should probably put him in his bed in a bit but currently enjoying sleepy cuddles and remembering that exactly this time 10 months ago I was attempting to change his nappy for the first time. Feel like we've come such a long way since that first night 😁

@Squeakydogtoy , it is terrific being retired (although it does have the downside of being old!)

I'm loving the cat photos. We lost our last little cat a year ago, he was an old boy too but it doesn't matter how long we have them does it, it's never long enough. I still can't bring myself to look at photos of him just yet.

Sorry for those who've not been well, and well done to those of you who've been productive!
