when they try to talk to woman and get the silent treatment

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr7jej2elyyo

Dilara has long reddish hair.

Women filmed in secret for TikTok content - then harassed online

So-called manfluencers wearing smart glasses approach women and then post videos to TikTok.

So a man should never ever talk to a women he does not know ever?

So men have too sit back and only ever wait for women to speak to them first, yet women say they never want to talk to a man as they are intimated by men so would never ever approach a man

So how on earth do humans communicate then?

There is a difference between walking along the street and a male saying excuse me can you direct me to x y or z, or on a train a male asking is this seat taken before sitting to a male starting a conversation up with a random stranger that is minding their own business

So how on earth do humans communicate then? If some men continue to behave like male in the link then they probably won't

Communications the purpose of sexual or relationship interests (let’s call it “chatting up”) is a unique type of communication and you’re being disingenuous to pretend that the end of that means men and women cant communicate at all.

WasThatACorner · 24/01/2026 09:52

You mean when they record abusive partners or men who have scared them?

Women being so afraid for their safety is the same as men being annoyed that they don't get the attention and engagement from any woman they want?

Right then......

If you are struggling with understanding buy the glasses and read my post again…

Frankly, this shows how social media platforms exploit their own users in a way that would cause outcry if legacy media companies did the same. In what world is it ok to film someone and post online without their consent? I think the women should sue the men into oblivion. And the social media platforms like TikTok who enable the fuckers. Time for some accountability here.

Different article from earlier this month:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx23ke7rm7go

Female YouTubers doing exactly the same content, but BBC propaganda shows it as only male thing.

GCSEBiostruggles · 24/01/2026 10:04

It is interesting that the guy frames it in the way he is chatting her up and she falls for him rather than she is being polite and probably felt bad for him. Men do often think any woman talking to them means they want to have sex immediately. It's why so many men who get a smile from a cashier hang about when it's closing time and get stalky; they can't tell the difference between being polite for a job and actual interest any more.

There should be a severe crackdown on anyone filming and broadcasting content featuring people who have not explicitly given their consent. Nothing to do with men or women here. Turning this into a men v women conversation is entirely missing the point.

Luckyingame · 24/01/2026 10:06

So what?
I already ignore most men, they are irrelevant to me, bar paid jobs and services.
Let them be disgruntled. 👍

researchers3 · 24/01/2026 10:08

1apenny2apenny · 24/01/2026 08:45

Hopefully this will see a rise of women having the confidence to ignore these bloody men who think we are just here for their benefit and love love love any attention they give us.

Let them get disgruntled it’ll help us weed out the pathetic men children.

There won't be many left!

This.

99% of conversations in the real world aren't this.
Most people just chat and go about their business.
Men who get the silent treatment need to look at themselves and think why it happened.
Men who get disgruntled can spend some time evaluating their responses.
Then behave themselves better towards other humans in future.

Agree, but the issue is that biased BBC propaganda articles are trying to present this as only men secretly filming women, totally ignoring the fact that women doing exactly the same.

Yes but they weren't filming us. I'm glad I'm old enough to fly under their radar now.

God me too. It's such a relief being in my 50s and invisible. At least in the 1990s I wasn't being filmed or photographed alongside the other harassing things men did.

I really feel for young women.

Coldautumnmornings · 24/01/2026 10:14

I'd like to know what the percentage is of men buying these glasses vs women.

PS a woman is not being rude for not being polite / responsive to unwanted attention. She is putting in boundaries and being assertive. These creeps wouldn't be initiating conversation with someone they didn't find attractive.

As for the person (assuming male) asks how do you meet someone? You do what all the decent guys do who meet their partners. Just don't be a creep

Exactly.

If a man tries to chat to a woman and she isn't interested, she probably isn't interested in becoming his new partner either.

^another woman, Kim, was filmed last summer on a beach in West Sussex, by a different man wearing smart sunglasses. He started a conversation by complimenting her on her bikini.
He asked where she lived and tried to connect with her on Instagram. Kim, 56, was unaware she was being filmed and, as they chatted, shared details about her employer and family.^
Kim asked the man who made the video to edit out information about her work and personal life from it, but he did not do that.

the other woman was in her 50s

I’m not sure if Op is badly worded? I don’t think she’s sad for the menz

hopefully all this will mean is the end of random approaches on the street for sexual/ relationship purposes. Meet in a mutually agreed way and develop the relationship from there

The OP is incredibly badly worded

absolutely why its getting these responses

Disgruntled men can be become more dangerous? Society shouldn't be dictated by men, woman having to ignore them for fear of being uploaded online against their wishes

I don't care if men are disgruntled. They are not entitled to our attention, time they realised that.

Any concern I have is reserved for the women on the receiving end of this pestering.

not to victim blame but to share details about family and workplace with a complete stranger????

Well she might’ve just said “yea I have a 7 year old daughter” and “oh I know about those roadworks because I work for the council” or “I work just over there” hardly secret information (or to be fair- particularly useful)
