No surprise though that if people aren’t blaming Brooklyn’s wife then they are blaming Victoria. Daddy Peltz and David Beckham seemed to be doing OK.

I don’t think they’ll comment either - they never do say much about anything anyway and I’m sure they don’t respond to negative press.

At the end of the day he’s their son and I imagine they are really upset and are hoping they’ll reconcile when things have calmed down.

Was listening to a podcast with Katie Hind journo at Daily Fail who said the article which came out in Vogue after the wedding said first wedding dance was with BB and N to can’t help falling in
love by Elvis then she danced with her dad to Wind beneath my Wings and then. BB invited his mum to dance with him once Marc Anthony got on the stage so me thinks BB is telling porkies plus there seems to be no video evidence of it (tho I’m guessing phones were banned)

It’s such a bizarre thing to lie about though!

That was the thing that stood out the most to me as its designed to really humiliate his mother. I can understand how he’s probably flipped after his upbringing and their shoddy treatment of him and his wife but I think insinuating his dm was doing inappropriate dancing against him is really below the belt.

The lack of dog support also damaging.

The dress also a lie, or a real twisting of truth.

the saddest part of his statement was him saying that he grew up with overwhelming anxiety, all he has known is performative family promotion and inauthentic relationships around him and brand Beckham was and still is priority

he knows how much his parents sell to the press, how much they crave publicity he has lived it we have seen it and his siblings are going through it he knows that better than anyone

no surprise there is no questioning of this area of the statement and it’s kept on the wedding as we all know how weddings can be big drama. what can they say oh sorry we didn’t notice we thought you liked to play along

I think all of that is why it was ill-advised to make the statement. Providing information was just giving people things to pick over. He’s invited the world in and been somewhat cruel in the process. It can’t ever be taken back and of course all of our opinions are irrelevant - so why make it public? It’s the very opposite of no-contact, he’s shouting at his parents loudly enough for the whole world to hear.

reading that as I can totally understand it - he has never looked comfortable in the spotlight. Right from him being a baby I thought it was disgusting the way they used him for every possible photo op and have brought him and his siblings up in the spotlight regardless of whether they wanted that or not.

I do think he should’ve just cut them off and quietly got on with his life though. But I imagine he’s feeling very angry.

The way it comes across to me is that the Beckhams are clannish with every member serving the clan.

BB's statement seemed quite sad to me - the fact that he had tried to keep things private, tried to see the parents before big press events, tried to keep them out of his marriage, tried to have them accept his partner, and most of all, tried to keep the rights to his own name.

That is a LOT.

It sounds like they really bullied him.

I’d suggest reading the feature that Nicola and Brooklyn gave to vogue right after the wedding. In their own words, the dress she did wear was worked on with Valentino for over a year. And they had their first dance as planned as they talk about it in the interview. Marc Anthony didn’t play until late in the evening, after there had also already been a father daughter dance.

I think they should deal with it all in a similar way to how Hugh Grant did after being caught with a sex worker. Just very ‘families eh? I think everyone has dramas… our door is always open to him’, type thing.

I am Team Beckham. Obvs have no idea what went on but the bit he wrote re ‘inappropriate’ dancing ‘ON’ him was just grim. He intimated his mum was sexually dancing ‘on’him. Not sure you can come back from that, sounded really spiteful and nasty, was no need to add that bit,

The dress thing seems untrue according to the Vanity affair articles, also he had his first dance with wife ages before the Marc Jacob’s dance… very Harry and Meghan with recollections varying. I’m more inclined to believe Marc Jacob’s said V was most beautiful women in room (stupid thing to say) and N was upset.

Just feel really sorry for V, we all make mistakes as parents but coming back from the sexual dancing thing would be very difficult to forgive him for saying.

Seems like the half Hadid sister liked/disliked a post somewhere but it could be that I am not a good sleuth!

It wasn’t Bella, was the eldest sister.

At first I thought gosh perhaps there are issues. I had to go NC / LC with my own parents so understand that toxicity.

However as time has ticked on it doesn’t add up. I was quite embarassed about that with my family. Because I am the family scape goat (which Brooklyn would be too - as all the siblings are on side). And that’s embarrassing. I wouldn’t shout that from the roof tops. But maybe that’s just me

Then there’s the peltz’s. Gosh they are the definition of money doesn’t buy class. Cannot believe what I have been reading but half of it’s in lawsuits so it’s all there. So that’s a big red flag.

And the more I think about it with Victoria. She’s never had many people come out and accuse her of being awful. Our press is ruthless. We would know about that.

And the nail on the head was the smug beach walk pics. I went through all this scape goat toxicity controlling estrangement gaslighting bullshit myself. It’s deeply upsetting. I was seriously discombobulated by it all and that’s without the whole world putting their two pence in online. If it was genuine then he would be quite affected not having a happy insta worthy Sunday stroll.

So yeah. I am team Victoria. It’s a Harry move.
