I think he has finally lost any marbles he had in his tiny little brain!

I think that poster needs to have clarified because people aren't getting the joke.

That was literally a line from his 'speech'. Said to a roomful of people in Switzerland, mind you.

I've heard lots of Americans say that we need to support whoever their president is because of what happened 80 years ago. I used to be on a US-based knitting message board and it was a frequently-made point. I always make the same point about Putin.

Nigel is funded (at a very deniable distance) by Putin. Putin has plenty of dirt on Trump. Nigel and his bosses would be very happy to see NATO fail and the UK align itself with an isolationist USA, because then Putin can get on with bothering Europe in peace. Dont ever fall for the nonsense that Reform is acting in the interests of the British people.

Farage the ‘man of the people’ is a mega grifter who would sell the UK out first chance he got. He received almost £600k in one year from Russia Today. One of his MPs was jailed last month for 10 years for Russian corruption with barely a peep from the press.

Nigel Farage and an 'Extraordinary Lack of Curiosity' from UK Government and Intelligence Services Over Possible Russian Interference in Brexit

"It did strike me as ridiculous that, given the overt nationalism of the Leave.EU campaign, it was involved in discussions with representatives of the Russian Government"

I was wondering about this - how interpreters deal with him. It must be so stressful. He says Iceland but you know he means Greenland, no sentence goes completed, and he makes up words and concepts. How do you deal with that? I think I'd spend the whole time in excusing myself and reassuring the client they were his errors not mine. Total nightmare.

He said "what has NATO ever done for us??"

Perhaps he should ask the Mothers who sent their sons to Afghanistan for the US as part of the NATO agreement. In particular he should ask the mothers whose sons did not return alive.

I have no words.

My husband was deployed on 4 tours of Afghanistan (not to mention the times he spent in Iraq). He, in fact we all, still live with the scars. He was lucky to come home alive. Many close friends and colleagues didn't. Still more lost their lives years later, unable to cope. It was utterly devastating and should serve as a warning.

My husband has a theory that Trump is sleeper agent of Putin!

your husband and millions of others.

@DuncinToffee@Alexandra2001- Yes they did. We have both been great allies to each other and I hope that will continue. The world is a very different place to what is was in 2001 and so each country must prepare and plan. Like I said earlier I didn't vote for him and a think a lot of what he says is crazy but deep in there somewhere he does have some valid points. It great that our nations can come together in times of need and at the same time each country should put the safety and needs of their own country and people first.
I realize threads about Trump aren't meant for discussion they are just about who can come up with the wittyest quote or the most derogatory put down.

Our nations will not come together again or not at least not in the foreseeable future.

USA can put as many troops and radar stations in Greenland as you like, you could even have sovereign territory to have a base on... subject to negotiation but oh no, you had to go and threaten attacking a friendly nation, a fellow NATO member... then put trade tariffs on us.... you behave like a Xi or Putin.

(By You, i mean the USA)

Btw European troops were dying on your behalf long after 2001, waste of fucking time and life, some "friend" you lot turned out to be.

Not all autistic people are full of empathy, a disproportionate number of killers are autistic (likely because it overlaps with MH issues). Look at Jonty Bravery.

I think Trump is autistic. I heard somewhere he eats the same meal every single day and has other stringent routines. It all fits IMO

What statistics, from where show that a disproportionate number of killers are autistic? Autistic people are more likely to be a victim of crime, than a criminal.

@Shmoigel look up were the Kool-aid saying came from. It very much has racist connotations.

It's said that Queen Camila has bladder issues, now Trump has bowel issues, it's the new insult. Unless for those gleefully quoting it, it means a physical disability equals a moral failing, or not being as mentally capable as someone without a physical disability, it's beyond pathetic.

Pepsi4Eva · 21/01/2026 19:07

Maybe an agent, but not a witting one. More witless.

There has long been many a rumour that Putin has stuff on him. Now what stuff could that be? Considering the sort of man he is...

Every time someone says this I wonder what Putin could have on him that is worse than the stuff we already know about.

His supporters would just claim it was AI-generated anyway.

Oh yes Iraq apologies. It was Iraq I was thinking of re the WMDs with Bush. But yes Afghanistan too.

I'm sorry the horrors of war have woven themselves through your friends and family :-(

oscalo · 21/01/2026 19:50

Trump has now withdrawn the tariffs on EU.

Some bullshit about a productive meeting with Mark Rutte forming the basis of a future deal re Greenland and the wider Arctic region. Rubio, Vance and Witkoff on the US side of negotiations.

I don't know what the basis of the negotiations are, and I doubt anyone else does either. Spooked are they now with the response of the EU and NATO I wonder? Or is Greenland up for grabs for the right price. Who knows.

The Flip Flop is off his trolley again.

Lopteluga · 21/01/2026 19:51

He’s just an absolute prick. Rambling, offensive, incoherent, talking absolute unmitigated bollocks. It’s mystifying that people actually voted this prize tool into office. We really need to tell him where to go in no uncertain terms, and just deal with the consequences. I completely agree with Gavin Newsome - appeasement just doesn’t work.

nicepotoftea · 21/01/2026 19:55

He is talking about Iceland now - does he have a problem with Iceland or does he not know the difference between Greenland and Iceland?

Posters perhaps aren't aware of the depth of ignorance in the US. In general, people seem to have no knowledge at all about other countries.

I used to visit the US a lot, before Trump (I haven't been since he was elected), and I've been asked
(1) Is London near England? (or maybe it was the other way round, is England near London)
(2) Is Canada east of the US?

I have relatives in the US, and they are appalled by Trump.

@CanadianJohn2 "(2) Is Canada east of the US?"
You are joking, aren't you? Surely they occasionally look at a map, accidentally read something that gives it away, or have conversations about "our northern neighbours".

I have noticed a trend for rather tedious YouTube clips asking young Americans basic questions like "How many weeks in a year"? (answer: 103 weeks). I thought they were just a rather clumsy attempt at satire. Perhaps not.

He is deranged and scary, changing his mind whenever he is confronted or satisfied with his bullying tactics.

Latest post. He’s had some help with this one as the ChatGPT long dash is in use, plus the exclamation marks and capitals are surprisingly restrained.

As an Australian, I have had similar things said to me on a film discussion board.

Foggybottomblues · 21/01/2026 20:12

@ I'm not personally responsible for the US or Trump. All I said was under all the crazy he does have some valid points and I believe the UK, Europe and Canada should invest in their forces and security. My dad was in the British Navy and served in Iraq twice so I was born in England and I'm well aware of the sacrifices and important role British forces have played alongside the US. You cannot deny in recent yrs the UK has not invested in their forces and the US has and expects others to do the same. I've never once mentioned Greenland.

Cyclebabble · 21/01/2026 20:17

It is difficult, but we have to adjust to the fact that the US voted in a man who is clearly mentally unstable and where policies depend on who he is currently having a tantrum with. After many years of rational politicians, it is difficult to accept, but this is where we are. The logical response is to back away from the US and for Europe to focus on its own politics, governance and commerce. Who knows what Trump will do next?

Chorusforpoormortals · 21/01/2026 20:23

Flip Flopping Fool.

It appears Rutte has sat him on his lap, burped him, changed his nappy & popped his dummy back in.

Am still incredibly confused by all his bluster. If he (as he has said on many occassions as well as today) thinks Xi & Putin are "good guys" who does he need this Golden Dome to protect America from?

Come on guys see sense. If it wasn’t for the US we’d all be speaking German and a little bit of Japanese now

Hardly! The Americans tended to rock up late in the day when the work was already done!

It was bloody brilliant!! Those woke shite governments deserved to have their noses rubbed into the mire.

He lobs a bomb into the inert morass to initiate action.
About time someone told NATO and Europe the lie of the land.
They alone CANNOT defend Greenland that’s the reality of the impoverished Forces in Europe.

WAKE UP TO THE REALITY!
The wastrels of Europe have been riding on the shirttails of the US for years.

Time to pay your way and stop playing empathetic suicide by allowing unlimited low value migration
